  • @VaigVizion

    The problem with alot of properties is how they build these apartments. It should be illegal to have those paper thin walls. There should be a decent layer between you and the other apartment to reduce the noise

    • @yearginclarke
      @yearginclarke Год назад +7

      It definitely should be illegal. It's straight up BS to be paying them so much money only to get no privacy and noise problems in return. I've lived in 4 different places and the walls have been paper thin in every one of them. I could literally hear my neighbors using the bathroom and I know they could hear me at the last 3 places I lived at.

    I HATE HATE HATE living in my apartment. Listened to this to make me feel better. My living room wall is shared with a women that laughs and squeaks in the highest tones when she is with her boyfriend, at first I thought they had a small child, turns out its a 30 year old woman making noises like a kindergardener in an attempt to flirt or something. The other wall, my bedroom I share with a foreign family, its their kitchen and they fight a lot especially when I'm trying to go to sleep. I hate other people intruding into my space with their obnoxious loud late night fighting and squeaks like it hurts my ears. I am so angry.

      I absolutely HATE everything about apartments and shared walls. I applied for a nice small house last week, and I should have got it because I was one of the first to apply for it, I have excellent credit and rental payment history and great landlord references, but they turned me down for an older gentlemen. I'm single and don't need a big house with a big price tag, but that's all that's available usually. I'm not stopping my search until my goal of a reasonably priced house is achieved.

    I've been in many apartments, and honestly, you'll NEVER NOT having sound and noise problems. Unless your building is somehow modern and soundproofed up the ass,
    which chances are, it isn't, you're gonna have noise problems. It's inevitable. Cannot be helped. I'm going to try to rent a small house later this year and vacate my current
    stupid apt. I have been in this one five years, and it's just getting worse and worse, and there was never any soundproofing at all anyway. I've also had some illegal entries
    at this place, and a few former apts. and buildings, always by the maintenance people and in one scary case, by my total stupid Brooklyn asshole loser landlord! Who almost
    got himself stabbed. I put in a second top lock a good high quality one last year so that's never happening again. I have Asperger's, anxiety and panic issues, so it's even
    worse and more acute for people like myself. Apartment life and no soundproofing and assholes all around, it just causes anxiety and depression and anger.

    Living in an apartment is where you go to let your soul die. Constant weed/cigarette smoke, blasting music/movies/screaming/pounding and slamming at all hours of the day. Honking cars, burnouts, people yelling from the parking lot into the windows at residents. Noxious smells from other random things. Delayed response to rodents/squirrels living inside walls. Maintenance barging in. Passive aggressive property management. It’s great for people who want to very quickly destroy their soul.

    I was staying at this 600$ dollar apartment it was the worst landlord would always take this upstairs neighbor side when ever he complained, like I was showering and the landlord comes barging into my aparment and says the water was running I told him I was showering he even seen my hair wet, I was about to just punch this old man I was pissed at the same time I didn't want to get kicked out though or for him to try to hide behind cops if I assaulted him he was a slob landlord, like the neighbor would be stomping around at 3:00 am and I had high school, he kept me up some nights and whenever I would complain to the landlord he would just ignore me I moved thankfully once I graduated, it sucks living in apartment the walls are so thin and you can hear everything they should make apartments but separate the housing .

    At one of the complexes I lived at, the maintenance guy was always stinky, and when he came into the apartment one day, he looked super surprised to see me like I had just caught him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. I knew he always entered people's apartments to sniff their panties. Wouldn't be surprised if he started putting hidden cameras in people's rooms when he 'repaired' things. He always 'replaced the filter' on the air conditioner in our apartment like 3 - 5 times a month. Total BS. I could tell he was BSing. At another apartment complex, a whole year passed before anyone replaced the filter in the apartment.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly! I hate maintenance just coming on in anytime especially when I have specific stated not to come if I’m not home! Also, parking is a big issues for me. I work 2nd shift and get off at midnight. There is never any parking by my building . As a woman, it’s really a safety issue having to walk across a unlit parking lot at night(thank god for tasers). Paying this much for rent, it would be nice to have assigned parking because I KNOW most of the people taking up space don’t even live here!!

  • @thiscorrosion900

    Nobody is supposed to be coming into your apt. without permission, UNLESS it's a total bona fide emergency, plumbing, fire, etc. It really has to be a total utter life-threatening or
    property threatening or power emergency. That's it. My current building is in a garden apt. type complex, and there's NO security: open front entrances, no locks, and open hallways.

    Real shit, I just moved in to an apartment and I want to leave because of the noise. IDGAF if I lose money, what kind of life is it to live in a situation like this? I supposedly live in a first world country, yet everything is made janky and without any consideration to human life at all. It's like what architect constructed this and thought it would be ok for humans to live like this? I can hear my neighbours laughing and shit. This doesn't make any sense. I'm going to get out of here somehow and then I am going to move to a small town and live a simple life away from the city. This is not at all worth it to me.

    • @yearginclarke
      @yearginclarke Год назад

      I had to move away from a small town 2 years ago because there were no housing options affordable to me except apartments. The only small rental houses I found were when I didn't have the money to move, or due to competition, someone else got them. So after many years of that and hating apartment living with an absolute passion, I moved to a larger nearby city (still small by most standards) where I actually found a small house in my price range. I had some bigtime barking dog problems with the old neighbors, but they moved out last summer after dealing with my nasty attitude when they refused to solve the problem, and it's been mostly quiet since then. Not perfect, but definitely better than any apartment I've lived at, and have some privacy at least finally.

    What city are you from? I actually love my apartment... but here is my caveat, the neighbors just like you said... I have the nicest unit in my building and I believe my neighbors are bitter and sour lol, like I'm sorry that your credit is poor and you couldn't wait to get the unit you wanted so you had to downsize your entire existence, but it's not my fault! You know what I mean?! I usually just drown them out with good thoughts and my white noise machine but I can still hear them when I'm actually not even trying to it's like they are possessed by some spirit... If you have ever watched the simpsons the couple literally sounds like patty and selma, same grumbling voice!!! Lol... Also I watched the entirety of your video and you are absolutely right apartments do need to give you notice unless there is an emergency so that is really unfortunate that you are dealing with that... I have always worried about that, to the extent that I have installed security cameras that upload to a cloud at all of the entry points... Also I have subbed to your channel and am looking forward to more content from you... I hope that you are able to nip that "glorified harassment" in the bud!
