    It's a pleasure to see someone around my own height ride the 401 Svartpilen. I always thought the bike would not fit me. Now I know seat height is not an issue. Your video made me one step closer in deciding this is the bike I would like to ride daily in the city!

    If you're just going to use it as a daily commuter or a weekend bike, I actually prefer the cast wheels over the spoked. Though it does look better on spoked. But if you like to turn it into a dual sport, it's definitely a mandatory to have em' spoked for better stability on dirt/gravel/sand.

    • @mihaiceclan9849

      Can you explain how spoked wheel offer more stability? I mean the size is the same and the tyre also the same. So what's the catch?🤔

    3:40 " it's kinda underwhelming isn't it" very very true....but.....i own this bike and what a lot of people don't know is that it has an electronic limiter built in. Once she passes 1000km it's lifted and i tell you what.....she sounds amazing and can bloody move. Most reviews online are unaware because they are sampling a sub 1k bike.

    • @NorthernTallow
      @NorthernTallow 3 года назад +1

      @@mrktg147 hey mate it all happens automatically. When you hit 1000km the red light on your dash will flash for a while (it'll go away) and you read out says something like service due. Soon after this you'll gradually start to notice the bike has more acceleration. It won't be so heavy on your declaration either. As in you'll find it coast nicely in gear as opposed to feeling like its heavy on the breaks when you release the clutch. I never got around to serving mine as i was in a crash ( not my fault) so not sure if that changes anything. But trust me the bike will be so so so much more enjoyable to ride after the 1000km mark. Oh and your redline goes up from 7k/rpm to about 9k so you can really open her up. Im sad i have to go through it all again when my bike get replaced because its a pain to ride under 1k.

    This bike absolutely brings out the ‘borderline hooligan’ in me. The sound is vastly improved when you decat - no need for an aftermarket silencer. Also, not to sound smug, but I have the wire wheels with the silver rims and they completely set the bike off. Great fun and naughty little bike especially when you consider that when the road stops and the dirt starts you can carry right on with your bh behaviours 😝

    Being riding my Svarty from last 4 months... Just completed 4k kms today... And I can safely say that it is the most fun bike I have ever ridden... It has only 3 negatives... 1. Seat height, 2. Ground clearance, 3. Tank Range... The seat height is okay with me as I'm 5ft8"... My solution for ground clearance is to reroute the exhaust from within the frame (like it used to be till 2019 models)... And for the Tank Range.. only solution is to carry jerrycans while on long trips in remote areas (read Ladakh)👍🏼

      It looked like a great bike for me to get back into motorcycling. But a 2.5 gallon gas tank? What kind of range would that give you, maybe 120 miles, plus 60 miles in reserve? In some areas in the western United States, 180 miles might not get you to the next gas station. Shame, because it looks like a great bike otherwise.

    I went to KTM BGC back in January and the first thing I noticed was the downgrade to cast wheels on the local units. The svart and vitpilen look so much better with spoke wheels. They said they decided to go for tubeless because of our road conditions. According to them it would be easier for our vulcanizing shops to patch up a flat than replacing a tube. I still wish you would have at least the option to choose between the two. I’m planning to buy mine in April/ May, but still haven’t decided on which one, Vitpilen or Svartpilen. I love the look of the Vitpilen, however I prefer the upright riding position on the Svartpilen.

It looks like it's so light and breezy; just perfect for the hot weather in Manila - and would be perfect for where I live (Perth, Western Australia). This is one those issues that's holding me back from getting back on a motorcycle again - the balance between comfort and protection in extremely hot weather.

    Hello, me also finally bought a new Svartpilen 401. Overall, I am very excited about it, but I still have noticed one little problem: the “balance” of the motorcycle. - When I ride straight on the road and lift my hands from the handlebars, the motorcycle starts to pull slightly to the right ... Considering that the motorcycle is brand new, from the store, I find it a little unusual that the center of gravity is out of balance. Have any of you had a similar problem?
    Please for any advice or your experience ..
    Thank you very much,
    Jurij

    Great review! I recently purchased the 701 Svartpilen 2020 and love it! My passion for riding came back. With that said, I have seen the 401 at the dealer and like it very much! This bike is the most unique bike on the market right now and nothing comes close. The dealers in the US can't keep them on the floor for the price and quality. I am surprised they discontinued the 701 which offers more power. Everything you said about this bike is accurate! Can you get spoke wheels for it?
