It's clear to me that Apple's engineers have vigorously tested their colour reproduction and image clarity incorporating their DTI technology since the 6s. This is most likely a colour profile Samsung has chosen and can be tweaked when shooting in RAW. Samsung's superior display makes viewing and editing photos a better experience on the device itself As for video, the iPhone has a very choppy shutter when shifting exposure, Samsung does a better job at this. However from what I've seen, iPhone's combination of hardware and software stabilisation works better than that of Samsung's. Having used the S7 and iPhone 7, manual exposure control seems to have much more range on the iPhone, I cannot speak for the S8 but I reckon it hasn't changed significantly Both excellent phones, I like to see healthy competition. Samsung certainly makes the iPhone's design look dated For complete transparency, I am an alltime iPhone user. I have no grudge against Samsung, I only like to see the greatest in technology.

Honestly I have an iPhone 7+ and I just preordered an S8+ a few days ago but I like the looks of the iPhone's camera more of the time. Of course, the S8 definitely has its perks but for more of the time I like the darker nature of the iPhone's camera.
in my opinion, they both have the same quality, and they both have their ups and downs. with that being said, since both qualities are the same, samsung S8 has darker deeper clear-as hell photos, ..while iphone 7 has , bright clear and great cooler color focus, so would you perfer darker and clear? or brighter and clear? cus both are same quality, it just depends on your taste
I think you accidentally swapped the iPhone and S8 sides halfway through the video at 6:22 you said the S8 was really good at focusing when it looked really choppy but it was perfect on the iPhone side also when using the macro lens you said the iPhone was better at focusing, but the the iPhone side was blurry
At 6:22, he said that the Galaxy was faster at focusing, not that it was smoother. At 6:38, the Galaxy also has its weird artifacts too, so he didn't switch sides.

I got to say though i notice more flaws in IOS like transfering a movie from my pc to my iphone 6 and playing it on vlc its horseshit however my S7 works properly and did it in a flash.

Instead of being biased, I honestly think that he was basing his judgements off what he saw on the live screens, which makes sense because we all know that Samsung has a better display. He probably mistook the screen display for camera performance

I never saw a single frame where the Samsung looked better than the iPhone. Samsung was more jittery, never as sharp, and the color looked lifeless and washed out. The commentating was basically the opposite of what we were seeing in the video.

I'm not a fan boy or something but I honestly think that samsung used a filter where as iphone shows fully raw image no filter! That green colour of trees were actually that filter which makes it more greener ! If u want to see the difference head to 5:07 and check that the actual colour is been shown in iPhone 7 but samsung and apple have one of the best smartphone camera !!
So from what I noticed, the stabilizer on the iphone is way better than the samsung, however, the only good difference on the s8 is that the color is more vibrant than the iphone. However that's something that can be easily changed post recording. The iPhone quality just looks cleaner in my opinion.

If you edit your photos, then usually a flatter image is better so we can mess with highlights and shadows. The iphones contrast is really aggressive compared to the S8. So for a photographer, I'd go with the S8.
Guys, both cameras are AMAZING, but I must give it to Apple here ... rear camera gives more realistic colors than the Samsung one for sure, although the front facing Samsung's camera beats Apple's, auto-focus is really good, I'm impressed, that's a phone we're talking about... I will still go for iPhone though, mainly because of the software... Android is just not my thing, not to mention the problems with lagging etc. Very good review, thanks @EverythingApplePro !

They seemed pretty evenly matched, consumers will have to decide for themselves which looks better. Personally I'm an Android guy but the iPhone camera looks amazing as well as the S8. I noticed when he was taking a selfie video the S8 sounded a tiny bit like he was underwater whereas the iPhone 7 Plus made him sound like he was speaking through a CB radio a little bit. There were parts where the S8 video looked shaky and the 7 Plus looked very stable, and vice versa. Overall 2 great cameras.
The focus test @06:22 looks so much better in the iphone. Galaxy's one look glitchy as f*ck, like it's lagging or something. The contrast looks a bit better on the iphone. The sharpness is a clear win for the Galaxy.
Roberto Martínez it seems the whole video for the galaxy was super choppy. Maybe in the editing or somehow got screwed up because I wouldn't expect this from a brand new galaxy flagship

You were judging this through the phone screen which is wrong to do because one the Samsung has a way better screen resolution, iPhone was clearly better here, you should know better you've been doing this for a long time!
The Galaxy cameras tend to produce more saturated colours, where as the iPhone cameras produce more natural colours. It really depends on what a person prefers aesthetically. I love the natural colours that the iPhone produces, but I really love how the Galaxy cuts out a lot of shadows and shading! I just preordered the Galaxy s8 and I'm trading in my iPhone 6s Plus. Excited to become an android user.
Galaxy S7 is the best snapchat camera so far (you can snapchat during midnight with the S7). I expect the S8 to perform better as it has a better camera.
Ok let's admit it this guy was struggling not to say galaxy s8 is better. The s8 has the better front camera better back camera better autofocus. Colors on the other hand both are good. Low light galaxy is better. The only thing the iPhone is good at is with the zoom and blur on the back which is good. But the Galaxy s8 does not have that shutter problem. The Galaxy looks a bit glitchy but that is actually because they need to update the phone which samsung will most likely have done when everyone gets the phone.

I'm not a fan boy or something but I honestly think that samsung used a filter where as iphone shows fully raw image no filter! That green colour of trees were actually that filter which makes it more greener ! If u want to see the difference head to 5:07 and check that the actual colour is been shown in iPhone 7 but samsung and apple have one of the best smartphone camera !!

So from what I noticed, the stabilizer on the iphone is way better than the samsung, however, the only good difference on the s8 is that the color is more vibrant than the iphone. However that's something that can be easily changed post recording. The iPhone quality just looks cleaner in my opinion.
S8 looks greyed out. And iPhone camera is meant to be extremely vibrant.

forthelove Russell It's because he was looking at it on the S8 and the screen is a higher resolution than the iphone so to people watching on samsung the samsung looks better but the iphones screen is a very low resolution so the difference isn't noticeable as much

If you edit your photos, then usually a flatter image is better so we can mess with highlights and shadows. The iphones contrast is really aggressive compared to the S8. So for a photographer, I'd go with the S8.
Guys, both cameras are AMAZING, but I must give it to Apple here ... rear camera gives more realistic colors than the Samsung one for sure, although the front facing Samsung's camera beats Apple's, auto-focus is really good, I'm impressed, that's a phone we're talking about...
I will still go for iPhone though, mainly because of the software... Android is just not my thing, not to mention the problems with lagging etc.

They seemed pretty evenly matched, consumers will have to decide for themselves which looks better. Personally I'm an Android guy but the iPhone camera looks amazing as well as the S8. I noticed when he was taking a selfie video the S8 sounded a tiny bit like he was underwater whereas the iPhone 7 Plus made him sound like he was speaking through a CB radio a little bit. There were parts where the S8 video looked shaky and the 7 Plus looked very stable, and vice versa. Overall 2 great cameras.

The focus test @06:22 looks so much better in the iphone. Galaxy's one look glitchy as f*ck, like it's lagging or something. The contrast looks a bit better on the iphone. The sharpness is a clear win for the Galaxy.

You were judging this through the phone screen which is wrong to do because one the Samsung has a way better screen resolution, iPhone was clearly better here, you should know better you've been doing this for a long time!
The Galaxy cameras tend to produce more saturated colours, where as the iPhone cameras produce more natural colours. It really depends on what a person prefers aesthetically. I love the natural colours that the iPhone produces, but I really love how the Galaxy cuts out a lot of shadows and shading! I just preordered the Galaxy s8 and I'm trading in my iPhone 6s Plus. Excited to become an android user.

Ok let's admit it this guy was struggling not to say galaxy s8 is better. The s8 has the better front camera better back camera better autofocus. Colors on the other hand both are good. Low light galaxy is better. The only thing the iPhone is good at is with the zoom and blur on the back which is good. But the Galaxy s8 does not have that shutter problem. The Galaxy looks a bit glitchy but that is actually because they need to update the phone which samsung will most likely have done when everyone gets the phone.
