Great progression!
Glad you like it!
We love you. Thanks for your time and explanation
Thanks, love you back! :)
Took me 15 years of casual tennis to master the slice and flat serves. Still struggling with the kick but getting better daily💪
It's not easy but will happen! 👊
very informative, thank you
I love your channel! You give me lots of helpful tip. Thank you~^^
Always keen to see from other end of court how high ball goes and what direction?
Thank you. Your the first I've seen to emphasize tossing the ball into the court. Most others recommend tossing it so it will land on your head. Won't tossing it into the court force you to bend forward awkwardly?
agree, "massive" kick shoul be inside the court
Awesome video, Milan!
Thanks, hopefully it will make a difference!
Thanks 👍 great tips
Thanks Milan, nice tips💪
Thanks, hope it helps!
Thanks
👍 Maybe worth adding a last tip - the contact point. I see many players at the club taking the ball too early with a fully extended arm which disables the brushing action. How low do you let it drop and what’s the optimal hight of ball contact (e.g. at the highest point of the fingertips with the tossing arm fully extended or 30-40 cm above your head)?
The ball needs to drop a little lower than the highest contact point you can reach with your racket. You should only be hitting at the highest contact point with flat and slice (to maximize the chance of hitting it over the net). However, you physically cannot hit a kick serve with the toss at this point because you cannot hit upward when your elbow is already full extended. In general, try to visualize hitting a serve that looks like a “rainbow”, and adjust your body to get that curve. One thing that helps is keeping your chest open so you really hit up on the ball
Thanks for the comment. Good point. I think I mentioned it in the video that we should allow the ball to drop in order to brush it up. Now, question about at what specific height we should hit the ball is tricky and I'm not sure if that information will help you much :) It should be based on the feel you develop through many reps! 👍
@@Wizard101duncan A Stefan Edberg/Boris Becker back bending may not help given that I’m not 25 any longer. Opening the chest is nothing I’ve really thought about, definitely a tip I’ll give to my son!
Bagus sekali pelajarannya, satu demi satu.
How should my leading foot (left foot for righty) be Angeles on baseline?
Pańskie filmy są bardzo pomocne. Dziękuję. Może w przyszłości coś o woleju?
You did not mention if your right handed which leg will push the left or the right ?
How do some of big server's get speed and kick together? By kick I mean straight up bounce , not the kick that goes away from the court. I find that whenever I kick it out slower, the returners have time to move and take a Crack at the return. Mind you I'm talking about playing against skilled player's. The faster serve that bounces straight up is what causes them problems but that's really hard to execute. Please do a video on that if you know what I mean
Thanks for the observation and question. It's definitely all about the orientation of the racquet at the contact point combined with the speed of racquet generated by proper pronation action. High bounce is due to extreme spin of the ball, you can manipulate in which way that spin goes 👌
If I want more pace is a standard continental grip on kick serve better than a slightly more open grip like and eastern forehand? I can get good kick but I want it more pace on it. I know tossing a little more into the court helps also but curious on best grip for more pace on second serve kick. Thanks!
Look at some videos of kick serve from the SIDE view. The swing path is probably much deeper than you think from most videos-which are usually from the back view.
I think of actually the opposite of throwing into the court. Since you remain sideways thru much of the kick serve throwing it into the court takes away from the pace you can place on the ball. Try throwing it farther back, but using a more into the court swing path while remaining sideways. Also, jump sideways into the court more. Throwing it farther back will help with height while also allowing you got get your full body into the serve for more pace. I forget who it was, but they said to think of the kick serve as a really high top spin forehand where the pace comes from moving your entire body forward for pace rather than uncoiling your unit turn. It's helped me get height and pace on the kick when I think of it in those terms.
What is the grip to use for massive kick serve ? Thanks
It's hammer grip but it can be also slightly adjusted, index finger knuckle can kind of go towards the bevel number 1! Hope it helps!
eastern one handed backhand grip
terribles advices... seriously
