This tekken is what made me love this game. Imagine if tekken 8 has the tekken 7 gameplay and the tekken 4 atmosphere. That would be a dream come true.

Man, I miss Tekken 4. The level design, the atmosphere, the soundtrack and a very distinctive art style even! The game had an identity of it’s own which is something that the newer instalments have lacked in comparison.

Man the MUSIC, narrator, art style, direction & aesthetics of the stages was lit af. It really brought out the hype. Need to bring it back with updated graphics. My favorite stage is the underground fight club scene. The rock esk music with crowd cheers when you got a hard hit or knockdown and sound echos was PERFECT

I remember having dial up internet and waiting 10-15 mins to download footage for this game when it was first announced. Tekken Tag was still THE GAME at the time. Good memories.
Out of the old ones 5 was the best for me. After that it was 3, and then 4. So 3rd favourite for me. But I do 100% agree that it was underrated as hell. 4 was such a great game but didn't get the recognition it deserved back then imo.

I remember feeling so hyped when I started playing the Tekken 4 demo on the disc that came with my PS2 and hearing Kazuya's new voice. I remember getting it in July of 2004 and just feeling so addicted to it because of what it had. The era of the PS2 was arguably the best in my opinion.

T3 was my intro to Tekken but T4 (on the PS2) was the first time I actually learned to play (i.e. not just mashing buttons). I went for Kaz in T4 cos he had T3 Jin's moves. Learning to strategize and moves like the wavedash felt satisfying. I was disappointed by Kaz's ending, tho. I look at it differently now, but as a little Catholic kid who loved being the hero, seeing Kaz go Devil really upset me, lol.
Ranking to last rank is a pain in tekken 5 dr i didnt even try hitting tekken lord after the blue ranks, its so sweaty in blue ranks even in easy mode.

i don't get how when you go on tekken 4's wikipedia page, the review section of the game mentions how uninspired tekken 4 feels... uninspired?? i know these things are subjective but this game feels that it has the most well produced aesthetic and production design of all the games! the character portraits are just stunning... had to mention that.

Tekken 3 was the game for me. Best music by far too. First thing I did in Tekken 7 anyway was to put Tekken 3 Jin's theme on the main menu. And then all the Tekken 3 and 2 tracks on ALL stages and menus.
Tekken 4 is always going to be the best. I love the combat. 9:22-9:26 is a beautiful exchange and feels more realistic compared to endless launching and juggles. Heihachi as the final boss is perfect. Jin will never be as cool as he is with that hoody...I can go on and on
This is the game that convinced me as a child that story should matter in a fighting game : even if it's a joke character like Kuma or Mokujin, it just adds something to know who you are playing and what they are fighting for.
I was 7 years old when i got this game. My dad was an avid tekken fan and had played every single one. Me and him bought this game on NA launch and stayed home from school for 2 days. This game is a masterpiece in my rose colored eyes.
I remember I played a bit of tekken 3 as a child but wasn’t old enough to enjoy games. I was maybe 5 or 6 whenever my uncle got tekken 4 for me and my brother. Still to this day no other tekken game has matched how cool and aesthetically pleasing this game was and it isn’t just nostalgia.
1 thing I miss about Tekken 4 was the stages. I wish we could have these style stages back for fights outside Ranked. I had alot of fun fighting family and friends in places like the Mall.
Kind of reminder, that if kazuya's half part of devil gene still intact in jin until now and in tekken 7 we all witness kazuya's devil form I mean, imagine if kazuya able to fully restore his devil gene....what would he become?

Yeah I don’t know man, it could’ve been that I was 4 when I played this game but idk. I think everyone that made this game really loved and put a lot of love into this game. I remember I played a bit of tekken 3 as a child but wasn’t old enough to enjoy games. I was maybe 5 or 6 whenever my uncle got tekken 4 for me and my brother. Still to this day no other tekken game has matched how cool and aesthetically pleasing this game was and it isn’t just nostalgia.
If Tekken Force was brought to Tekken 7, everyone would be running over Heihachi immediately.

1 thing I miss about Tekken 4 was the stages. I wish we could have these style stages back for fights outside Ranked. I had alot of fun fighting family and friends in places like the Mall.
Kind of reminder, that if kazuya's half part of devil gene still intact in jin until now and in tekken 7 we all witness kazuya's devil form

Another reason why the PS2 was the GOAT, it had Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 4 AND Tekken 5! Bonus points for the backwards compatibility.

Yeah I don’t know man, it could’ve been that I was 4 when I played this game but idk. I think everyone that made this game really loved and put a lot of love into this game. So creative but not just that, they caught a voice. I think this game is unique in all the right ways. Definitely my favorite Tekken.
Well apart from the title screen flickering on the screen subliminally every few seconds, this was a really fun video to watch
