Tekken 4's presentation was absolutely amazing, and the stages were some of the most visually pleasing and dynamic. We need a Tekken with this kind of atmospheric love and craftsmanship.
Harada and his team is too lazy for that. After Tekken 4, it seems that they no longer want to take risk.

Man the MUSIC, narrator, art style, direction & aesthetics of the stages was lit af. It really brought out the hype. Need to bring it back with updated graphics. My favorite stage is the underground fight club scene. The rock esk music with crowd cheers when you got a hard hit or knockdown and sound echos was PERFECT

Tekken 4's character select menu music was stuck in my head for 15 years, now I have Tekken 7 with the jukebox. Life is good.
I replaced a lot of the music in T7 with tracks from older Tekkens. Honestly, the Tekken franchise has always had the best OSTs for fighting games.

Man, I miss Tekken 4. The level design, the atmosphere, the soundtrack and a very distinctive art style even! The game had an identity of it’s own which is something that the newer instalments have lacked in comparison.
i say this all the time: for playability its T5. For visuals, music, story mode, stages and innovation its T4
After kazuyualess Tekken 3 seeing the Tekken 4 Reveal with Kazuya was like the first time I saw a character come back to life in a story and was like wtf. Heihachis reaction at the time was the same as mine.

That game atmosphere is so good, artwork, narrator, OST, all awesome. I remember when i was a kid playing this, every time the character select pop up the hype came.
I remember having dial up internet and waiting 10-15 mins to download footage for this game when it was first announced. Tekken Tag was still THE GAME at the time. Good memories.
The transformation scene of Kazuya unlocking the devil gene traumatized me as a kid lmao, its still pretty horrifying

Most underrated Tekken game tbh (as well as my 2nd favourite, next to 5 (this was actually the first Tekken game I owned btw)). Change my mind.
Out of the old ones 5 was the best for me. After that it was 3, and then 4. So 3rd favourite for me. But I do 100% agree that it was underrated as hell. 4 was such a great game but didn't get the recognition it deserved back then imo.

If they used the Narrator of Tekken 4 instead of that sleepy and bored voice narrator of T7 it could have somehow improved the feeling of the story lol; iwish Tekken 4 would get a remake with T7 gameplay and a decent storymode with cutscenes and fights featuring tekken force missions, like taking kazuya and fighting the mishima zaibatsu's raid on G-Corp, damn it would be a masterpiece along all the returning costumes and character designs

Whoa, I forgot that TK4 had an interactive soundtrack too! (check out 4:39, 5:25 , etc. - brass blast right at the final hit of the round).
Really good stuff, love to see more TK4. I preferred TK5 at the time, but there's no doubt TK4 was incredibly ambitious. Great content as always :-)

I remembered that tourney finals were always Jin vs Jin LOL. An era where Maddogjin ruled. After that Knee became champion in TK5, 6 and 7.

I was expecting more old players who playes since tekken 3 till now feel the same way. but a lot of poeple nowadays just go along with everything that comes out. is kinda sad. so im very thankful for bringing tekken 4 topics. I remember feeling so hyped when I started playing the Tekken 4 demo on the disc that came with my PS2 and hearing Kazuya's new voice. I remember getting it in July of 2004 and just feeling so addicted to it because of what it had. The era of the PS2 was arguably the best in my opinion.

I actually found Tekken 6's ultra hard to be the hardest out of all the Tekken games (1 - 7, including tags). It was closely followed by Tekken 1 & 2.

Ranking to last rank is a pain in tekken 5 dr i didnt even try hitting tekken lord after the blue ranks, its so sweaty in blue ranks even in easy mode.
Unlocking Eddy had me hyped in Tekken 4.

You can ask other Namco staff. Harada can do 8 and up while a side team can do the remake/reboot of some sort with the atmosphere of older games.
My old job had a Tekken 4 machine in the lobby. I would’ve played it more if I wasn’t always busy cleaning or dealing with customers

@Lord_of_darkness Lord_of_darkness Events of Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 are 20 years apart. We confirm this from Jin being 19 in T3. T3 and T4 are 2 years apart, Jin is 21 now. Furthermore, When Kazuya was discovered to be alive, KoIFT4 was instantly announced, that confirms that real time gap is of 22 years b/w T2 and T4.

While not my favorite in terms of roster and gameplay.. the story and tekken force modes were good, the character outfits in this are great, and the music is so good.

Man the theme during the novel art, honmaru music, the stage, the hud... The best Tekken of the series near Tekken 2. Wish whit Tekken 8 they keep the gameplay of the 7 and return on old Tekken soundtrack and atmosphere
Law sounded less annoying in tekken 4. This game really made me fall in love with tekken even though there weren't many characters it had so much soul.

It's about frames really. Why poke to death an AI with 10 frames when you can launch them in a 13 frame. An AI don't have superior punish skills like a human so it's more wise to abuse it

Tbh, he rarely hit launches. Its more of stun that led to juggles. EWGF don't automatically set up launch in this game, unless it's a counter.
Tekken 4 is always going to be the best. I love the combat. 9:22-9:26 is a beautiful exchange and feels more realistic compared to endless launching and juggles. Heihachi as the final boss is perfect. Jin will never be as cool as he is with that hoody...I can go on and on

T3 was my first but defo love T4
T3 was my intro to Tekken but T4 (on the PS2) was the first time I actually learned to play (i.e. not just mashing buttons).
I went for Kaz in T4 cos he had T3 Jin's moves. Learning to strategize and moves like the wavedash felt satisfying. I was disappointed by Kaz's ending, tho. I look at it differently now, but as a little Catholic kid who loved being the hero, seeing Kaz go Devil really upset me, lol.

The boss fight with Heihachi is a shining example of the play style they wanted to establish in Tekken 4. Beating him was a pure poke fest. Still, i loved this game's overall atmosphere even if the gameplay was kinda wack.

Hon Maru needs to be in T7. Most epic stage in the series with one of the most badass themes to compliment it.
It's in the story mode. But unfortunately, it doesn't have the same atmosphere like in 4's.
I wish there were newer players who would take up the challenge of playing older Tekken games. Tekken 3 really helped me hewn my timing skills.

Tekken 3 was the game for me. Best music by far too. First thing I did in Tekken 7 anyway was to put Tekken 3 Jin's theme on the main menu. And then all the Tekken 3 and 2 tracks on ALL stages and menus.
I was 7 years old when i got this game. My dad was an avid tekken fan and had played every single one. Me and him bought this game on NA launch and stayed home from school for 2 days. This game is a masterpiece in my rose colored eyes.
This is the game that convinced me as a child that story should matter in a fighting game : even if it's a joke character like Kuma or Mokujin, it just adds something to know who you are playing and what they are fighting for.

I remember I played a bit of tekken 3 as a child but wasn’t old enough to enjoy games. I was maybe 5 or 6 whenever my uncle got tekken 4 for me and my brother. Still to this day no other tekken game has matched how cool and aesthetically pleasing this game was and it isn’t just nostalgia.
Play the Tekken Force, in this game is pretty nice and hard
