Emperor Nero is still alive when he should be very dead by the time of the game's setting. Gods are manipulating events in the game just for shits and giggles. Boudicca is a little too successful at her rebellion that she is able to muster an army of over a million men ("her army has increased tenfold") and invades Rome itself. Mind you, she lost her rebellion at Watling Street in Britain historically, she was WAAAY too successful in this alternative rebellion of hers. This game didn't give a shit about historical accuracy and decided to have some fun. And I can respect that.
It's pretty much a carbon copy of "Gladiator", just with some flashbacks thrown in to transform it from a feature length movie to an averagely long game.
Imagine if, with a time machine, you could witness a war like that of the Romans (or older wars between human factions ), at the time in real time., Swords, axes, maces, pikes, armors, shields, blood, dead bodies, mangled bodies, screams, horses... No firearms. A total massacre body-to-body. Would be crazy
The smell of thousands of dead bodies and fluids everywhere. Not only that, but some of them have been marching and fighting for days swetting and dying for hours. I could imagine someone throwing up from sensory overload from it all and walking through the bodies of the the men they knew and shared a lot of their lives with seeing the frozen expressions on their faces when they died.
Mixed feelings about this game, it had potential but since Crytek is now down sizing i don't think there shall be a next ryse 2 game however this speech was truly bad ass
The only thing I don’t like about this is the inaccuracies in the armor and shields of the legionaries. For one, the shield of a legionary could be place on the ground and still be tall enough to protect half your torso. The ones shown here are tiny in comparison.
@@ryanbrown4053 At least if the imperialists were Romans, they actually built up the infrastructure and industry of conquered lands instead of exploiting them shamelessly. Many roads and great cities even in Germany were built under Roman leaderships and as they were not as strictly based on ethnicity, many conquered people made great careers in Roman society. Arminius and his brother (who stayed loyal to Rome) were Germanic hostages, but through merit became knights as young men.
When you log in to see a Roman speech, with ancient aura and in Latin, and what you see is a yankee speech, with hollywood aura, in English and with British accent.
Games about Rome should ensure one thing above all else, that every player experiences, in some form or another, the glory and might of the Roman Empire
I don't usually like how Spanish people do things, but at voiceacting they are the best. You should go check out the same speech in Spanish. Even if you don't understand a thing, it has more of a true Roman speech vibe.
Italy in history: *Powerful country who expand it's territory worldwide for civilization* Italy in present: *Lost Basically its territories and reside within Rome but well known for expensive cars like they're opposing country spain.
gameplay: average, historical accuracy: non-existent, cutscenes: epic
The historical accuracy is fairly good, I wouldn’t say it’s non existent.
@@CallSignAlza nope its pretty bad to be honest, gameplay is really epic tho

Notice how awesome the facial animations are? Bioware could learn a lot from the devs of this game.
All of Bioware's characters look like they have some severity of downs
rixille “My face is tired”
They just like their faces to always be in a constant state of saying cheese for a photo
This would have been an epic film

actually they have ballistic weapons
99% of these ancient battles were about logistics and destroying the enemy's supply lines.
It was particularly rare for the armies to actually fight.

I'm not sure how they'd do a Ryse 2 (certain reasons) but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I loved the epicness of the speeches, though.
Why are they downsizing??
@@ryanbrown4053 lack of money.

To this day still a great memory. Game had it's flaws but also some really epic moments, like this one.
I wish they would make a follow-up...
Their armor looks like something that would be used for futuristic space legionaries.
Imagine this speech being done by the Generals in Rome Total War, right before you fight any of the major barbarian factions.
Aye. If you play rome total war. This is the feel.

I am an avid anti-imperialist, but I bow down in respect to Rome, who brought civilization, culture and wonders to every inch it touched.
It also brought order and power. Basically its people are Rome. Sorry had to quote Vitallion here
Imperialism is always portrayed negatively, and for good reason, but it definitely has its positives.
