    That’s a good way to explain it. I always call it a “right” angle grinder, because we know the left side will just kick back at you.

    Well said! Sparks coming at you your safe. Sparks going away from you then you can die fast. I know because I had an accidental kickback even knowing grinders but I bumped another piece of metal on the other side of the wheel and it kicked back and cut my throat. I held my throat together enough that they save me.

    • @templebuilderscarpentry7043
      @templebuilderscarpentry7043  5 месяцев назад +4

      DAMN! That accident sounds gruesome. Fortunately, you're alive to tell it. Thanks for sharing your experience. I appreciate your commenting.

      I was tought to cut with sparks going away. Everything was fine until the disk broke and left psychological damadge

    • @zackk695
      @zackk695 15 дней назад

      @@arnoldxd OH WOW! Yeh, that’s bad and I’ve had it happen. Those disk can go right through you. Hope you’re ok physically. If you think about how the grinder pulls on you when grinding you can tell which direction it wants to go so if sparks are coming at you then the wheel is making the grinder pull away from you so it will jump forward if it leaves your hands. Now if the sparks are going away from you then you will feel the grinder fighting to kick back and it’s super dangerous. All grinders should be a soft rubber body yet they have that smooth plastic which is so slippery and dangerous

    • @arnoldxd
      @arnoldxd 15 дней назад +1

      @@zackk695 Yeah no physical damadge. I learned how to cut towards me today and I feel that the cuts are being made safely now. Progress has been made.

    You don’t control the grinder and the grinder does not control you……..you have to become one with the grinder and work in harmony

      I don't force the blade. I let the blade cut itself?
      I basically rub the cut with the "Spin Cut Motion?"

    Thanks for this. I had a kickback with an angle grinder back in high school and the disc left a big ol laceration beneath my thumb. Always check the tightness on your guard so that it doesn’t pop off when grinding or cutting a coupon.

      @templebuilderscarpentry7043 ~ Thanks for having my back. I'm almost 60 and I've done a lot, but I've never used an angle grinder. I have a brand new one, and I'll be using it this summer. I tried digging out these 2 chainlink fence posts that the previous property owner left like an inch or 2 above ground level. I'm still not sure if the angle grinder is even a safe choice for that awkward, horizontal cutting task. Since I can't break-up the giant stone and concrete buried with the post and it's too heavy to lift, even after digging out one of the concrete bottoms completely, maybe I should just rent a pipe cutter? What are your thoughts, sir?

    so you always want to be on the "tail side of the arrow" , not towards the "head of the arrow" for kick back safety , right?
