Secret Wars had to end with a reset, and the new MCU will have Mutants, Fantastic Four, and all the characters in it.
So then we can have real Dr. Doom. This very much feels like a wrap-up on the MCU with RDJ.
This version of the MCU has to end and have a start of a new universe.

I thought this whole time that they were gonna have RDJ play Victor Von Doom from another universe, who just so happens to look like Tony Stark. Just like with Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan playing completely different characters from different universes.
what could be cool to tie this new saga to the infinity saga would be to say what if the particular universe that Dr. doom is from during the battle with Thanos somehow his daughter ends up getting killed or somehow he’s not able to come back to her and he blames the other heroes for that and that’s what starts him on his journey of evil?
because he makes it very clear that his daughter was his number one priority in all of this. That would make a really interesting backstory and a way to wave to us together, but leveraging the Multiverse.
Their universe will be destroyed by galactous and they will run to the 616 universe that’s how you get F4 in the MCU simple as that,obviously Doom will escape that universe too

In the Crisis crossover, Brandon Routh played both Superman and Ray Palmer. Both from different universes. They looked alike. They acknowledged it in story. They reacted to it. He will look like Tony, but he will Be Victor Von Doom.

The MCU could pretty much utilize the Tony Stark / Dr. Doom character in whatever direction they want because in the comic book world, writers will always change up their story to how they see fit, & writers will always change from time to time so the stories will always change & grow with them,

In this universe the Stark family probably doesn’t exist as we know it. It’s the same bloodline, just different names and backstories. It’s like in another universe, it’s possible you have a different name.
I noticed how this plot point mirrors iron lad been a version of khang and i believe tony stark's doom might have a redemption arc and becomes iron man ounce again confronting victor as pay off to the build up to secret wars

Only way showing his face all the time would work is in RDJ is originally heavily scarred, and as the lead in for secret wars he gets his face healed and he abandons the mask, kinda like the iconic doom cover for secret wars
Rdj is a good actor but Cillian Murphy is arguably better. So no excuse on their part unless he's a variant which i dont think he is

I saw something the other day that in the comics there was a story where Victor Von Doom switches bodies with Tony Stark…. If this needs up being the case then that would make me feel better than just an alternate version of Tony who went bad. But I doubt they will go this route for the movies
geekdom is confusing himself. Kang went back in time and gave himself those names. If you have an alternate version of yourself in another universe you'd still go by your name and be you. You don't just turn into another person as a variant. That person may have a situation where they swap origins or powers with another character and go under another alias ie Reed richards in the ultimate universe going by the maker, but spider-man is still peter parker in other universes. At the end of the day this was a poor attempt by marvel to revive the dying franchise and bring back rdj somehow.
