- Ami: Full Exposure - Some American liberals want 'Democratic Socialism' in the US, so Ami Horowitz traveled to Venezuela to witness first-hand how socialism has bred violence and despair among its citizens
It scares the hell out of me that so many Americans think Socialism is a good thing.
then don't even think about EUrope :\
College students at that.
Its because people here have been taught to believe it is good by the leftwing media and other left controlled institutions.
It's indoctrinated (trained) behavior. The commies have a monopoly on the education system.
Highway Hobo
I agree with the second half of your statement and part of the first. Unions used to be good and very helpful. But now that we have labor laws they are harmful. they are actually crippling businesses. Unions only exist to make money for those who run them now under the guise of helping workers.
Heartbreaking for the Venezuelan people! Unimaginable that we have so many uninformed persons in this country. It starts with Bernie Sanders and AOC.
This video should be a testament to the Second Amendment.
♥️🇺🇸👊 right on!
i'm from venezuela and this vid is so gold, thank you so much and i hope socialism never becomes a reality there.
This is the same story of every socialist/communist country and only changes when they start allowing capitalism to re enter.
The one good thing I got from this whole COVID-19 epidemic is that I’m reminded to keep practicing “socialist distancing”. Basically, anything that has to do with socialism, I distance myself from it.
Four years later….
Now take a look at where we are as America - rapidly moving towards this ideology! Sickening!
I spent 6 weeks in Venezuela in 2004, not long after Chavez came to power. Then the same situation had occurred. The Venezuelan bolivar dropped from 760 to a dollar to 2000, in a few weeks. This new collapse was bound to happen as soon as the oil prices collapsed. I wasn't even aware until I arrived and changed money at the airport. I had almost a sack full of cash. Anyway I managed to get to my hotel safely enough in central Caracas. It was like the wild west, gunfire constantly at night, possibly worse than Chicago. I then travelled the country for 5 weeks and it was an adventure I'll never forget, exciting but darn dangerous. This video is well made and it is NOT an exaggeration. Socialism =poverty, slavery, police state, hunger, economic collapse, crime. This is what Democrats want for the USA and Europe , to be just as poor as the rest of the world.
who cares these people are always creating their own hell , let them eat cake
The Hypocrisy Party (Democraps) don't give a crap as long as their pockets are lined with cash. To hell with everyone else.
Is that why Russia is fighting so hard?? They've gone thru it, and survived?? (Asking for a friend..... 🤣🤣🤣)
@@galeparker1067 A very good question!!
What ever happened to self sufficiency? When we allow government to meet our basic needs we are screwed.
Ami is legend. I love his work.
Socialism. The slow walk towards Communism. As the philosopher George Santayana once said " Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who do not remember their past are condemned to repeat their mistakes.
Those who do not read history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of their predecessors are destined to repeat them.
Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them.
Socialism is Communism in a different frock
Correct David. And the difference between Socialism and Communism is that Communism doesn't allow for religion. Hmmm...sound familiar??? The USA is moving in that direction per the PC police.
David Balderston WELL SAID KUDOS
David Balderston
That's why they want to remove our history.
Capitalism. The slow walk towards anarchy. That explains my point. The slippery slope argument is garbage.
You can see how easy it is to deceive a person into believing what is truly evil is really good...we need to be alert ourselves to the lies we're being told or we may find ourselves in a snare that is near impossible to get out of. Ignorance is not bliss.
Too late. Private, for profit insurance companies are already deciding who lives and who dies in America.
I do believe some of the US socialists are well meaning but naive. And ignorant of Socialism's record of failure. Others are desperate people who have nothing and want nobody else to have anything.
I'm convinced a good % of the population is npc's, its beginning to be the only thing that makes logical sense. And it is our job as good real people to stand up to evil and stop them from convincing the npc's that evil is good. If you get what I mean.
My Mom always said, 'the biggest kind of fool is an educated fool'.
Bernie needs to go on a second honeymoon to Venezuela.
BRINE , DEFENDING AMERICAN PEOPLE NOT ORGANIZER CRIME OF BILLIONAIRE, CLUB, HOW LONG AMERICAN WORK AND PAY TO FOREIGN ISRAELI, BY 100 BILLIONS, AMERICAN WORKS AND AMERICAN SHOULD HAVE THEIR CHECK,
Socialism is Great! As long as someone else pays for it.
I'm glad you shared this video, but it made me very sad for the Venezuelan people. 😢
Wow! Thanks for posting! This should be broken into segments and each segment published as a public service announcement.
Rhetorical question.................. Show me so much as one single nation throughout history that was/is socialist that thrived/thrives................... Just askin'.....
none. Even Europe is getting shittier the more socialism they get
death2pc I believe socialism only worked in the S.F.R.Y. Under Tito and it was only through him that it worked. There are many great books you can read on this topic and I suggest you do as it's very fascinating, however, after Tito we saw the nation crumble and collapse as socialism doesn't work.
Deathrow Records
None. But ignorant college educated people keep insisting it's been applied wrong over and over.
More stories like this, please!
how can anyone living in this country....especially born and raised in America....not understand the freedoms we have, the great democracy we have. How does anyone think that socialism/communism is they way to live ....these people need to see this....but guess what....they don't pay attention to "Real" news.
Seeing images like this won't convince them because people like Bernie Sanders are telling them that this won't happen under his model of "Democratic Socialism".
Most Americans have never traveled to another country therefore since they only get their news and information from the politically biased news media, they have nothing to compare it to. It’s sad and worrisome. As a kid I visited the Southern border on the Mexican side a few times and although I didn’t really know anything at the time I could see the difference in the quality of life there compared to the U.S. and I felt fortunate to be an American.
Heard you on Buck Sexton's show. Great piece! Thanks for being a voice for common sense. Be safe Ami!
Become adult, Americans!
Paranoia
Only cause YOU said, smh. Moron!
That's Great journalism brother! 2017 finding fewer & fewer!
More people need to see this. My heart hurts for the people suffering in Venezuela... I will never understand how people can be so cruel to other people... we are all human... I just dont understand
This needs to be seen 100x more than it's been seen so far. Great work, Ami.
Another excellent report. I like your personal approach. It is friendly, non-confrontational and concise. It would be interesting to see all the film footage you took while there
Excellent, excellent work are your interviews, the editing, the writing and some amazing photography.
Too effusive? No.
Thank you.
Classic socialist class war: kill or suppress the Kulaks and surprise! Chaos. Turns out they were the people *keeping society together.*
The most heartbreaking thing is not the hunger or poverty, but the apparent apathy when describing the death of a near one due to the conditions. It's as if they simply accept their fate, perhaps even think it deserved. This dehumanization was also observed in Soviet times.
Everyone needs to learn basic economics......I recommend Thomas Sowell's book by that name. He explains things very clearly.
My family has a long history with socialism. As a child I went to visit family in eastern Europe to meet the family my grand parents left behind when they fled the Holocaust.
Just as in this video, there were super long lines for little food; there were 4 generations of my family living in a 1000 sq ft apartment.
One day while I was leaving the hotel, a line of limos past us. I asked a person who they were and they told me they were Party memebers on their way to their, "Dachas," or weekend homes. What I saw as a 10 year old was a binary society, there was the rich / powerful and there was the common (poor) person.
Then the same scene was played out the next summer when my Kung Fu instructor took me to China.
When Venezuela went socialist, my family there was quick to leave (having seen the writing on the wall). They got their business out of Venezuela and are now living in Florida and have moved their company here.
My question is, why do people not see this? I am blessed to be a first generation American on my mohter's side and my father was Puerto RIcan but a whole bunch of the family seems socialist, even on my mother's side.
My grandfather is rolling over
Smh 🤦🏻♀️…. Praying for all of us
In 2006 I was travelling in Peru and met a fellow solo traveller who had abandoned her travel plans for Venezuela after just hours. She told me how her taxi driver from the Caracas airport drove her to a bad part of town and threatened to leave her there unless she paid $100s of US dollars. Which she agreed to do only if the driver took her back to the airport, where she paid up and then got the hell out of there.
Usually I do not engage with many people in my travels, but I noticed she was extremely distressed at an adjacent table in the restaurant where I was having dinner and I asked her to join me. She was very relieved to speak with someone - anyone - to unload about her ordeal and how scared she had been for her life. I did not and still do not doubt her story as I had been warned about similar extortion scams when I was in Lima - which is an innocent city compared to Caracas ...
Nothing wrong with Socialism, except it is impractical
It's impractical _because_ it's wrong.
These people need to realize that there is strength in numbers. I know, it’s much easier said than done.
what is the music in the end credits?
Excellent video. is RUclips suppressing the video ? This should have 50 million views not 88 thousand views.
"The only thing bad about socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."
Margaret Thatcher
YES WITH USELESS WAR, THATCHER, STARTED USELESS WAR, LIKE BUSH, START IRAQ AND LATER SAID WAS A MISTAKE BUT MILLIONS IRAQI KILLED HINDERED THOUSAND AMERICAN, JUST ISRAELI MAD PROFIT, BY SALE ARMS
the last two minutes should be mandatory viewing in US lol...very powerful
Massive balls to go there 🙌🏻
There was a video form Brazil exactly when the "venezuela" text came up lol
The lines for food were there in Communist Poland, East Germany and the Soviet Union. Photos were surreptitiously taken and yet people still think socialism works; that everyone will be provided with what they need by an all caring state.
This actually blows my mind
Being that the United States is the land of freedom and opportunity, we should provide the people who believe and find nothing wrong with socialism a one way ticket to their preferred socialist country. Since there is nothing wrong, they should see this as an improvement to their current living conditions and feel fortunate to move.
Although I do not use GoFundMe, I would donate for the cause.
Commies will say this is fake.
It made me cry and I’ve been through a lot as an American but nothing compares to this I wish that Venezuela gets through this and I hope America will see the broader picture
Makes you sick saying Socialism is fine while living in a Capitalism society and if you mention one country that's tried it they say that was Socialism done wrong there a lost cause.
Wow! Just speechless. Thank you for risking to share this. Curious as to what Bernie Sanders would say/react. Nevermind, we know he's a brainless panderer.
He would say "Democratic Socialism will be different".
'The most puzzling development in modern politics is the apparent determination of Western (European) leaders to recreate The Soviet Union in West(ern Europe).
Mikhail Gorbachev, former premier of The Soviet Union
Keep up the good work Ami your showing how these people are actually warped and out of touch with real people.
Capitalists: "Capitalism is not perfect, but it works better than socialism"
Socialists: "Socialism has no flaws!"
You said that a month ago
It's too bad that I cannot send this video to anyone that thinks socialism is good.
They would simply refuse to watch it.
Try to anyways
I have to do an essay on Venezuela related to oil and I originally thought it would be really boring...I'm realy in shock after watching this and reading up on the topic!! Why isn't anyone talking about this?!
Every college student should have to watch this.
and
“The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money” - Margaret Thatcher
Great!
Good videos Ami, I follow you and can’t believe how Americans think socialism is good for our country.
I'd like to see Abby Martin go back there and tell me how wonderful it is.
My family lived through communist China and it was bad. They need vouchers to receive food and had to stand in long lines.
Careful, you’re gunna make barrios the next hipster dive hotspot
name of the song at the end ? (the guitar)
'no hook' by c rez
To think that some of our politicians on the left can look at Venezuela and think there is nothing wrong with socialism is appalling. The starvation and suffering of Venezuelans is real and it is horrible.
Pls more videos like this
Asking those people why they voted for socialism and what thought process led up to that would be a more productive and exposing piece of evidence than anything.
Ask your average American right now and you'll have your answer.
This is not bullshit, i was born in venezuela and my family is suffering greatly there, my parents got us out of there in the 90's because they feared for my future.
These poor folks. We need to get their asses here!
This is what my grandmother fled from. Communism. Socialism. It's the same darn thing.
High violent crime rates is common in socialist/communist countries
If that kid was willing to eat a dog, Ami should've been scared. That kid could turn cannibal at any time!
Ami makes videos demonstrate the truth.
We get closer and closer to being like Venezuela every day.
Very good! 👍
Wow!!!
I got alot of news for people that love socialism. I work with 3 people from Venezuela and they work and save to try and get their families out of there. They are more American than some Americans. Makes me sad at the direction of America
Man this was five years old? Where is Ami? bring him back.
What scares me about this is that people who live in a capitalistic society like America don't realize how good they actually have it. You can get a job, work hard, and move up the ladder to make more money while supporting yourself and your family but the only problem is people aren't willing to put in the effort. Everyone wants everything handed to them for free. That's going to be the downfall of America.
This is the education most college students go into debt for. If your not smart enough for any of the top paying, degree required jobs, save your money and brain cells. Trades, military, start a business, or just work.
I will never understand how people can treat other people in the manner that the poor of Venezuela are being treated. This is the main reason to keep government as small as possible.
Under socialism everybody is equal everybody has the same. Everybody has nothing but misery and want
No cognitive dissonance in last lady interviewed.
Have you done any recent research on the Red-Green Alliance in the US?
Is there a way to help? I didn’t know it was this bad, like people shouldn’t just be saying “that’s what you get for being socialist”, I think someone’s got to step in here and help these people.
I hope they learned their lesson, but I also hope they get the help they need.
Peter Rosqvist, I agree with the sentiment but logistically, how do you do it? Any aid would have to go through their corrupt government and would never reach the people in need. The only way to improve their situation is from the top down. Once socialism is the law of the land, it's very hard to reverse it.
this is exactly like Russia in the old messed up times.
Why don't you go to New Zealand or Australia as opposed to Venezuela?
This isn't Socialism; this is HELL!!!
This is a compelling video and I can see why Ami call's his stuff 'docutainment'. Lots of flash and not information. The video is called What's wrong with socialism. All I saw was a country in shambles. They never actually discuss what about socialism caused that. So, as someone who is actually trying to get informed, what IS wrong with socialism? Why doesn't it work?
we need to give them our money and help them!!!
Yeah! but that won't happen here in the US. Famous last words.
Funny how they didn't go to any Scandinavian countries for this segment
ruclips.net/video/FNtyV0CXfzU/видео.html
Scandinavian countries don’t have to pay for military protection from others they have the capitalist countries paying that tab. Their tax rate is nearly 70% and suicides are high...
Scandinavian countries keep saying they are not socialists. They are a small population of homogeneous people with screamingly high taxes for broad government services. But their countries are free market with privately owned businesses.
This is what should be played in high school
I didn't realize how bad it was in Venezuela
"Real socialism hasn't been tried yet" says every 26 year old Barista with a degree in Middle Earth Folklore and $50k in debt.
Coming to a classroom - never.
the problem with socialism is the people that say they want it really demonstrate they don't. once one person is in control of something they usually don't share
This is becoming our reality
Please have Mr Horowitz live on a u.s. Indian reservation for 30 days & 30 nights. I think he should be allowed to be made an honorary member then live there for 30 days & nights. A parallel to socialism.
everything!
"In my country everyone shares with everyone. Otherwise they shoot you" .Latka Gravas.
I have family in Venezuela. Items like coffee and toilet paper and many other basic necessities have to be purchased through the black market 3x more than they are originally worth. Not to mention their currency is useless; barely to them. And ISIS are slowly making their way in as well because of how much of a shit show it is. It hurt to hear him say how hungry he was.
I wonder why they don't mention the USA embargo effect on Venezuela's economy.
Wow that is so sad
clear out some of that wooded area and start some agriculture
And this is what AOC and Bernie want for Americans.
Seriously, how do some people in the US not know that this is what socialism is?
