I'm American and seeing this huge archive of the outbreak really reminds me that we never had it as bad as the UK. We only had a few hundred cases on the East Coast. I remember being about 10 years old and I remember watching this address. Hearing Bush say that American troops would be put on British soil sent chills down my spine as a little over a week later my dad would be sent to Britain. He lived, fortunately.
