    Did your black metal v60 paint start chipping off? It’s the best looking v60, but I’m apprehensive about buying it due to negative reviews about the paint.

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  20 дней назад +1

      So funny story, we are a retailer of Hario products.
      This metal black Hario v60 in the video is my personal unit but we have been selling hundreds of them for that last 4 years. Out of all these orders we had 1 unit that had chipped paint.
      We obviously swapped out that defective v60 for one that didn't have any paint scratching off.
      From my experience this seems to be an issue with how the coating was applied, the defective unit was already chipping in the box and this doesn't seem to be an issue around wear and tear.
      I hope this helps :)

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  4 месяца назад

      Haha I totally understand, in fact the point you make is exactly why we created our business 'Basic Barista'. I also feel that coffee (along with other hobbies) can be pointlessly overcomplicated.
      While this video in particular is not the best reflection of our ethos I would recommend you watch our other videos where we simplify hard to grasp concepts and do our best to make coffee BASIC. 😄
      Good coffee doesn't have to be complex.
      and to answer your question; Coffee servers aren't necessary, They do assist in aeration of your coffee when you swirl and pour from height but they don't make the biggest difference to your coffee and you can quite easily just brew your V60 directly into your mug.
      Happy Brewing!
