    It'd make sense to pour your coffee into a mug to cool it down. But here you preheat the cup also 🤔 Why not brew straight into the cup 🤔

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  23 дня назад +1

      Great observation!
      The main reason is for the ability to split up a brew and share it but another reason is sometimes drippers don't fit into some cups.
      Also if you're brewing directly into your cup make sure your coffee cup is perfectly level, having a level dripper is best so that the coffee extracts evenly when passing through the grounds.
      Hope this helps and cheers for watching!

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  6 месяцев назад +1

      Haha I totally understand, in fact the point you make is exactly why we created our business 'Basic Barista'. I also feel that coffee (along with other hobbies) can be pointlessly overcomplicated.
      While this video in particular is not the best reflection of our ethos I would recommend you watch our other videos where we simplify hard to grasp concepts and do our best to make coffee BASIC. 😄
      Good coffee doesn't have to be complex.
      and to answer your question; Coffee servers aren't necessary, They do assist in aeration of your coffee when you swirl and pour from height but they don't make the biggest difference to your coffee and you can quite easily just brew your V60 directly into your mug.
      Happy Brewing!

      @TheBasicBarista  29 дней назад

      *5 sets of pours!
      If you have a total brew weight of 250g divided into 5 pours you will have 5x 50g pours each :)
      Hope this helps!

      @@TheBasicBaristaHow did you decide to modify the pour intervals? Kasuya already uses very coarse grind size. It looks like you went more extreme.

    Interesting, that you let it cool down at each pour, by waiting for it to dry.

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  Год назад +1

      Yeah, just the way I brewed it this time.
      Same goes for if I am doing a 3-stage brew method or a 5-stage brew method. I wait for the water to completly draw down before starting my next pour :)

      @@TheBasicBarista I will try that some time. But I always heard that keeping temperature is important. But I also saw a world champion recipe with that method :)

    I don't like that your filters are too small for the v60, I don't understand rinsing the vase with discarded filter water, I feel like that bloom was too heavy, you didn't stir or swirl the coffee at all, and why are you drinking from a vase lol? I'm sorry but you did put yourself on the internet

    Oh yeah! You sure did pour that water! I'm gonna need help picking my jaw up off the floor! This is AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. You are the Michael Jordan of tilting your wrist 15 degrees and moving your hand in an anticlockwise spiral! No, not MJ - HULK HOGAN! HH BROTHER!
    I mean, holy FUCK! This is not LIKE a boss - noooo, this IS the boss! Bruce fuckin Sporgenstein, step aside! I will watch this literally 733 times. Not even kidding. I actually think I just came a little bit, tbh. And when I say a little bit, I actually mean a LOT. Ropes. Cream on the ceiling. I'm going to need a new Swiffer after this cleanup job.
    Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for this. You have literally changed my life and my entire perspective on reality and the meaning of human existence.

    Not likely. It's a v60 pour over and the coffee drips down into the cup, so the bubbles are likely because of that
