It’s very nice move from james to bring a sentimental value for the family what a nice son god bless his dad and his family plus of course James and keep his dad memories alive 🙏🏼👍🏼😊
I drive a 72 Chevy pickup. When I fill up the truck it does have the pressure stopping mechanism. Yours should too. The tank should be 19.5 or 20 gal. Also sometimes if helps to hold the gas pedal a hair down when turning the key to start the truck since it’s carbureted
I understand the feeling. I built my late fathers car into a show/camera car and drive it daily. Hit my heart string a bit there as there's a lot of emotion driving that car every day. All power to you brother.
One safety thing to think about is if the truck's gas tank is behind the seat you should absolutely look at a replacement gas tank that would mount under the truck. Why? In an accident if you have a gas tank inside the cab, behind you, and it's ruptures you burn up. Check this out and if that's the case look at how to relocate a gas tank outside of the cab somehow. Some trucks back then had two gas tanks, one inside and one out under the bed. In those cases stop using the inside tank, and even remove it.
Great video as always James! Just a piece of advise that I'm sure other people have already given but because it is a classic small block chevy and is obviously carbureted, the fuel pump is mechanically driven off of the cam shaft meaning unless the engine is cranking, no fuel is getting to the carburetor. Also because of the carburetor, it's a good idea to pump the gas a few times before turning the key, and holding down the gas pedal while cranking before it starts. Hope this helps👍🏼
What I love about the hummer ev is how the bottom looks, normally with trucks you can see all the suspension where as with the hummer ev it just shows the back and front for the wheels where as everything else has a cover over it.
Hello James I’m glad your well!!! You’re Dad’s truck would look great in its original form just the way it was when it was manufactured, in my opinion! It’s a classic truck!!!
It being an older truck, obviously the early 60s trucks were cooler, but the sentimental value is clearly what counts here.. anyway, seems like u got 2 choices here: raise it or lower it and for sure u gotta drop a modern gm crate motor in there- ls1, ls3, lt4, etc. And I'd recommend a wild paint job...something exotic looking but with crazy ornate pinstriping and all
I really love old trucks, and that one is so clean. I think you should fully restore it, but keep it classic. Also the paint, keep it old style. Give it a fresh new paint but old style. And for the motor that’s you man you can do whatever but please keep it classic!!

Honestly more excited to see you rebuild your dad’s truck than I have been about the various Lamborghinis. LS3 engine, new wood in the bed, new interior, new wheels and tires, painted in a 70’s shade of brown or light blue…
Nope actually that truck and the gallardo are the 2 things I want to see I think I speak for a lot of viewers family is very important and it’s truly awesome you’d want to share something like that with us. I miss it in the vlogs a lot tbh. It’s where you came from and what go it started. The truck being back in the family is amazing and something special seriously love content that has meaning and that certainly does.
The "stop" feature is built into the gas pump handles. Nothing to do with the truck, old or new. I learned this years ago filling up gas cans at the gas station lol. They always stop filling as long as the nozzle is in the hole😄

I posted on one of your videos exposing this issue months ago, I worked for GM and we had 6 EV’s and 2 of them had those issues with water leaking in severely as well as the battery not being able to charge what so ever.
Your dad is so proud of you from up above.
Honestly more excited to see you rebuild your dad’s truck than I have been about the various Lamborghinis. LS3 engine, new wood in the bed, new interior, new wheels and tires, painted in a 70’s shade of brown or light blue…
James, just so you know, I’m a 60 year old guy, but I love your channel. Keep it coming!
Btw, not sure what “selected” means, but I appreciate it!
I can't wait to see more videos with your dad's truck ❤❤
Very excited to see the restoration of the truck!
Nope actually that truck and the gallardo are the 2 things I want to see I think I speak for a lot of viewers family is very important and it’s truly awesome you’d want to share something like that with us. The gallardo as a pretty long term follower I remeber you buying it and I’ve seen the evolution of the blogs and channel and it’s a build I greatly care for I want to see that car it’s gonna be insane. I miss it in the vlogs a lot tbh. It’s where you came from and what go it started. The truck being back in the family is amazing and something special seriously love content that has meaning and that certainly does.
I love this story reminds me of my Dad and I with my first car God bless James & his father and of course Mom as well. ❤️
The "stop" feature is built into the gas pump handles. Nothing to do with the truck, old or new.
I learned this years ago filling up gas cans at the gas station lol.
They always stop filling as long as the nozzle is in the hole😄
