I love you brother. I have Avascular Neurosis of the skeleton. And it has stopped me from drumming. I have been playing the drums for 35 years. And I'm now 46, And almost gave up. Praise God, you have inspired me to push myself to get on the kit again. I have been watching you for years man, you are the greatest drummer of all time. You mean a great deal to a multitude of people. God Bless you Thomas Lang.
That drum set is like the equivalent of when a really decked nice car drives by and you’re like man driving that thing must be awesome…. 😅 Oh and he killed too
Very much like at meinl drum festival 2015. So as much as you think is improvised, i bet he plays similair stuff all the time. And if that's new stuff here, not a lot has evolved. Still amazing.
The original book/DVD was released/2003 and this solo was to showcase the concepts he was trying to teach the viewers. Whatever he might have played in 2015 was just a cool little reference to a much earlier work but a cool Easter egg for anyone who might be a fan or paying attention.
It's total redundant. It was a hangover from military marching drummers who were standing. We sit now and the snare is between our legs. Traditional grap has absolutely no advantages.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418that is literally not true. While I would recommend most drummers play matched, traditional is so much easier to be articulate at quieter dynamics than matched, which means it pairs very well with jazz music. Yes, trad grip people can sometimes be snobs but you don’t have to go around saying incorrect things because of that
The only reason it was ever developed was when military drums got bigger and were placed on one hip as opposed to directly in front of the player. It’s completely pointless for a modern drummer.
Remember watching him on VHS back in the day. True fckn monster

I loved when he played Sonora Drums! A real musical piece on drums!
Not human. Machine. Incredible.
Crazy talent and chops.
That was absolutely incredible. You're definitely an Amazing Dynamic individual.
The first Drum Solo I've ever heard which sounds like Music and not like "play as many strokes you can"
I Highly Support This.
Always Insane !!!
Amazing Talent !!!
Incredible
Magnifico.💪💪💪💪💪💪
Lang es uno de los mejores bateristas del mundo.

Lang's limb dependence is not human.

Theres no better drummer in the world rite now lang is the shit !!!!!@
I wouldn't even say he's my "favorite" drummer, but without question, Thomas has no equal when it comes to sheer technical ability.
osobliwe , nadzwyczaj , pełna kontrola
how many brains are working to do this?

@@musicdev Rubbish.
There's nothing easier about playing traditional grip...
Matched is far easier and makes more sense.
