    Spider Mites are off the hook! They will crush kill destroy! (from old tv show). The problem with some treatments is you can kill the spider mites but some plants don't survive the treatment!

    I bought my zebra plant infected. I transplanted it and treated it instantly and it started dying. 😢

    Small question, what does isopropyl do to the soil if sprayed directly or it drops off the leaves. I've noticed some growth stunts on plants that have had isop. Cleaning. I can't find much about it on the inter-webs and thought maybe some people with experience know. Perhaps the spider mites stunted the growth but seems kinda weird to me. Like to hear from someone with similar experiences. I mix my iso with H2O2 50/50 helps reduce spores and other threats. Perhaps it's the mix which I also doubt..

    A final spray of what? Rubbing alcohol or plain water?

    • @SGW4K
      @SGW4K 10 месяцев назад

      Rubbing alcohol. But not sure of % i went with fairly weak around 30% but might need 3 or 4 reapplications 🤷‍♂️

      Do you leave the spray on?

    Weekly is too long imo , spider mites reproduce every 4 days

    I could swear they live and breed in the soil. That's where they come back from. Alcohol spray top layer of soil is a good idea

      They actually rarely go into the soil they stay on the leaves

    Is this fine as a preventative for new plants as well?

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  Год назад +1

      I'd probably use something like SB Plant Invigorator as a preventative rather than alcohol solution

    • @SGW4K
      @SGW4K 10 месяцев назад

      It can be. Shopping centre (mall) plants are regularly given rubbing alcohol sprays and wipes from a conversation I once had with a commercial plant rental guy

      You can definitely see them with your eyes. Magnification it helpful. And you can't diagnose species but you can definitely verify that you have them with sight

    Does hydrogen peroxide work too?

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  Год назад

      I've not tried that for spider mites. But my first thought is that I wouldn't want to wipe the leaves down with it

    What does a part mean?

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  Год назад +1

      It depends how much you want to make. If you want to make a lot use 1cup alcohol to 3-4cups water if you just want a little you could do the same ratio with teaspoons
