That was a hornworm and the white eggs are from a wasp that lays its eggs on them so their young can feed off the worm. I haven't seen you around I pray this finds you well. I'm praying for you Kerry, Bless you, my friend.
I think like 28 to 30 degrees at lowest temperature but usually doesn't get that low. It definitely gets cold enough sometimes to take out breadfruit trees when unprotected or lacking microclimate for sure.
