Those bike frames were NSU Quickly mopeds, made in Germany from early 1950's to early 60's. They were very prolific on our roads.
“And all that jazz folks” love you guys👍
It would be nice if the Council could clean this up get the Graffiti of the walls and open it to the public with WW2 Memories just a thought
They should Preserve this type of place not forget them....😎
The amount of work involved in laying all them bricks is unbelievable..
👏👏

The cylinder Chris looks at is definitely a vacuum.cleaner. We had one very similar with the skids on the bottom. Possibly an Electrolux.
Atheist Orphan - I've not heard that for a very long time!
Another great video from you guys love iks exploration so much great work guys
I always watch their videos and I find them very inspiring so to Chris and Ian keep up the great work chaps a big fan from Cornwall
+mark palmer many thanks for your support :)
THE MR P SHOW poor you living Cornwall
Lol I live in cornwall but in canada
Top Brass lager. I remember it well. It’s what we drank when we couldn’t get water.
I love this channel keep exploring old ww2 stuff and ect
enjoyed the video ! Great exploring the tunnels with you thanks!!
Hi IKS Exploration , just to let you know there is a abandoned bunker in woodland park Newport South Wales , it has a generator with old baker-light dials bunk beds about 9 rooms all flooded to about 2 foot throughout .
+1000000volts wow that's amazing :) thanks for sharing :)
1000000volts *bakelite*
Neale Scott quote
That's not a pillar drill at 5:10 it's a capstan attachment for a lathe. A fairly big lathe probably. Capstan lathes were used for mass production by semi-skilled operators in the days before CNC
Go at the pile at the start, i think the lathe's flat belt pulley is in the pile. Despite the many farm item machinery parts in there, i'm leaning towards a lathe, the size is just about right for something from that time frame (reused machinery for the war effort and alike).
Looks like part of a turret lathe.
6:41 Tin can, Turpentine, Abraxo cleaner. You just need a Nuka-Cola Quantum.
In case anybody is wondering about the Bike Frames and the wheels They are from off a N S U Mopped and the other was a Raleigh Moped of the sixties My Dad Bought a N S U Moped I believe it was a 50 cc and they were very Fast {going Down Hills } The one My Dad had Kept Breaking Down on him: I asked him what N S U Stood for where he Replied {No Sodding Use} The Raleigh Moped was as Basic as they Could be: You could Either Pedal it to Start the 49 cc engine Or put it on its stand and Pedal it until it Started: The Handle Bar was a Basic Handle Bar where you By Turning a Bolt within the Handle bar to where you Could adjust the Handle Bar to your Liking to whatever Height you wanted to Lift or lower the Stem. Problem was that if the Bolt did not Get Tightened enough the Stem would shoot out and all you'd be Doing would be Holding the Handle Bar and of course the Moped would Crash into a wall as it happened with me when I was going to work. Very Funny if you Happened to be a Bystander watching
As always. Another awesome explore!! Cheers folks ;)
It would be nice if you used a laser distance measure and a compass to map out the tunnels and then you could find out where the blocked up entrances were above ground. And besides it would give a better idea exactly how much area the tunnels covered. The tubular heaters you found are called tubular heaters and you can still buy them today.
+Paul H we found the blocked entrances when we was looking around out side, I didn't film it though :)
Another great explore, thanks for taking us with you.
+yellowboy1866 thanks for joining us :)
Another brilliant video really has inspired me to research my area in Dorset to find places to explore and uncover :) keep it up
oh my god , theres so much stuff to look at inside . awesome explore !
Coulsdon shelter was used for storing hospital equipment for a few years from Cane Hill Asylum..after WW2 then was a workshop for car repairs....
I'd love to know how the back end of a 1930's Fordson tractor got down there, though. Great explore, and odd to see areas that had obviously been well 'partied' in, and areas full of old gear that had pretty much been left alone by the yobs. I was looking at the floor, and in places it looked a bit 'World of foot injury'. Trainers might not cut it, if you see what I mean. A nail through the foot is no fun at all - I speak from painful experience. After that, never went anywhere without solid boots.
The 'pump' at 23:00 is a compressor, piston type...... either used for compressed air... or vacuum... or refrigerant use.
Definitely a vacuum pump.
I.K.S U DO GREAT VIDEOS,OF FINDING LOST HISTORY AND OF CORSE [ EXPLORING ]
CARRY ON EXPLORING AND KEEP ON FINDING MORE WAR LOST HISTORY.
Great video, amazing bunker! 👍🏻
+Debathy Leeming glad you like :)
Lots of GEMS FOLKS 👌 Indeed that drill press, old bikes, loos like battery bank for ROC POST , JUST watch your head LADD them cealing bout to land on ya smushed like grape lolololol carful Y'all really cool to see all the retro stuff , amazing finds INDEED 👌😷😁😁 Take Care FOLK I'll be going through the rest of the classics Churaaaa
Hell yes another nugget of gold lads 🤘 bits and bobs everywhere and that brickwork top stuff
I hope you didn't mean yes to hell.
John 3:16 in 1st Corinthians 14:33 God is not the author of confusion...
awesome ...Technically an abandoned Junk Mine...very interesting indeed...!!!
What a shame! The place is dry and still basically structurally sound and yet in GB, the homeless population is growing and the place could be renovated and provide temporary housing for literally thousands. I wonder if one could buy that property?
Not a nitrogen tank, it is an mid 1950's vacume cleaner.
Pretty sure this is Coulsdon deep shelter or something eerily similar. A lot of history behind it from a private owner who used to store ice to developing camera photos and a few raves here and there.
Jesus folks that place is massive great film loved it
Nice to see you guys out of your area.. The bunker was used for the Hospital/asylum at the top of the field back in the war time also the two machines you where looking at near the end of the vid had some relevance as the bunker was used to make and test optical lenses in the dark which I think is why some of it is painted black .. Anyway great vid as always I'm sure I will bump into you one day all the best👍🏻
This was fascinating! them shelves with parts on them, not been touched since the war. Amazing stuff. Very large tunnel system down there.
+Wight Click thanks for watching :) is an amazing place :)
Hey up & new sub to IKS, this is one hell of a complex your in today, with plenty of off chutes to explore. Will be enjoying your back catalogue of previous exploration videos. all the best to you and your mates who join you in the adventures.
Hey IKS Exploration, I would like to invite you someday if you're in my area, I live next to the french border in Germany, it is called Saarland, my team and I are also into exploring old bunkers and lost places, we have been in many bunkers of the Maginot line and some old forts from the 1st World War that have been also used in the 2nd World War, in one of them are still awesome paintings from german soldiers that were stationed there in there 1st World War, If you're interested just say it.
Greetings from Germany.
Hello, i have never seen an air raid shelter with lots of rusting artefacts before and lots of people have been visiting this bunker over the years leaving their rubbish. I thought your video was excellent and really interesting. Have you considered buying some masks for asbestos protection and some safety boots, to keep you safe. from danger.
+David Morris we are in the process of sorting all that :)
I'm thinking the engine found is possibly from an old Morris engined tractor which certainly the back axle is likely from, just as the "asbestos" is said, the Solex carb can be seen on the floor.
Those bike frames might be worth some money to a collector.
Enjoyed this vid so thanks bro and guys. All the best
As always, thanks for sharing guys.
This is the biggest ww2 or any tipe of war Bunker ive seen so far guys, good location finding
Guys PLEASE WEAR GOOD RESPIRATORS when underground in these places. Everytime I was in old buildings we wore cartridge respirators. In some of your shots I can see white fibre blowing around! Thats Asbestos I would hate for anything to hapen to you! BEST EXPLORE YET!
WOW! The wheels you point out at 1:24 is from a small rail wagon. When building the long tunnels they paid temporary rails to bring out spoil they were digging. like mine carts. The tracks are gone but a lot of evidence this was used for some sort of industry. The stuff in there is a MINEFIELD of history a museum would love!
4:32 that is part of machinery made by Oerlikon Balzers! Oerlikon made guns in WW2! It aapears to have belt drive pullies so part of a larger machine. I,m an engineer and into vintage machinery I can recognise a TINY part of a machine and pretty much work out what it was thats why your explores are briliant. I quit Urbex 10 years ago got too old :( OMG the futher you go in did you realise how much WW2 artifacts and machinery is down there???
5:02 very old Alladin Praffin heater (remains of)
5:09 as you say a pillar drill. I am suspecting you have come across one of the small industries that went underground in WW2 to avoid bombing, this doesnt appear to be totally a shelter!
5:21 the dark green trestle type thing is again part of a machine. GUYS YOU HAVE FOUND some sort of production facility! With the many alcoves on the wall I am thinking 'possibly' aircraft instruments!! 6:47 look like gauges from an aircraft LOADS of them.
5:39 NORMANDIE ANALYTICAL that is an extraction system!!
OK got it! The concrete beams above close off entrances that went UP into a larger factory or building, where it changes from brick arck to flat concrete each one is a old access point. Seen these before in tunnels under Farnboro'!
10:09 definitel an old Kelvinator or Hoover vaccum circa 1930 ish
11:47 Look like Fordson wheels NEVER had rubber just spikes for muddy ground. They are worth a fortune alone!
12:31 those tractor wheels and transmission would have been lowered down through here, they probably weigh over a ton!
14:12 guys the areas that are black are probably SOOT! In WW2 very possibly STEAM engine generators?
OMG THEY GO FOR MILES! Was this Dover?
You have great knowledge of this
That bike frame at the beginning thats a { NSU quickly} moped i used to race them over the fields when i was a kid. just started watching you and keep up the good work.
That old bike frame looks like an NSU Quickly moped. a proper moped with bicycle pedals.
a PLF? You had to pedal like F**k to get em started.
Why did the U.K. abandon these sites instead of preserving them?
So much Money in Tourism could have been made...
Richard Maunder no government on earth is bright
What fascinating places you visit! I just discovered this channel today and I'm sooo happy about it and looking forward to seeing more of your videos. These places are incredible! Have liked, shared and subscribed really appreciate you showing us around these places. Keep up the amazing work and stay safe!
Very interesting place. Lots of neat stuff....Thanks for the video.
+Bloeski's Wrecking Crew thanks for your support:)
Another great video guys
In that corner pile, the wide all metal wheel is a flat belt pulley. Makes you wonder what would an old tech item like that be doing in a WW2 bunker pile.
Wasn't that engine a Mini engine? I haven't looked at a proper Mini engine in a while, but i seem to remember that they had that split exhaust manifold setup.
That extinguisher looks like those types that you'd drop on the floor to pierce the cap and start the chemical(??) reaction that would pressurize the tank. Channel name 805ROADKING has a video on them, very interesting (he converts an old one in to a lamp, but also details and shows on the function and use of one).
A fab video from you guys, a very strange set of bunkers, . keep up the good work.
That place is huge. Great explore guys cheers for sharing
love the moped frames. They look like Motobecane frames
All the old parts left behind were so interesting! Excellent find there!
Very interesting. Thanks for filming.
really enjoyed the video lot of things to look at and think about, lookingforword too the next thanks Dave from Grimsby
I think I used to go in there with my mates in the 80's, less graffiti then. Is this on the edge of London in a town with the initial C? I don't wanna more and give the location away although it would be difficult to find if you didn't know where to look!
good morning dude thanks for another cool video !
+Raymond J thanks for watching mate :)
Those machines at 22:30, I'm pretty sure they are vacuum deposition machines.
A small quantity of material is vaporized in a vacuum chamber with an electric current and the resulting cloud coats your work with a very thin film. There would have been some sort of dome lid on the top left of the machine to contain the vacuum.
Pretty specialized equipment that, most amazing find ever in an air raid shelter.
Could the metal discs have been sawblade blanks? I have no idea if sawblades are made that way, with the teeth cut last, but I guess it is possible.
Love your videos, especially those without the comedian.
exelent video guy's. and love this place all the old bits and bobs down there.
+simon benton is an amazing explore :)
I know we're there is a ww2 firing range just outside Nottingham junction 24M1 would you be interested in visiting if i get permission from the farmer. Who might have more info on the site
very cool ... love these little bunkers
+Escape The Wild cheers for watching :)
great video
looks like you've found a engine down there it looks like it still has its generator instead of a normal alternator charging system I think they used it to manufacture vehicles or store vehicle parts in there
Cuprinol is still a thing - copper based biocide used to preserve wood. I would love to dig around inside there. Looks like we got a good idea of what WWII era bomb proof factories looked like. Imagine the shocked look on the faces of modern Occupational Health and Safety people lol!
I am supposing that there may be some nasty surprises amongst all the junk in there, such as rotting cans of Cuprinol lol.
have you tried the tunnels and aircraft assembly utility at monkton farleigh i believe, it was being reclaimed back in 1990's it had the largest conveyor belt remains that was being reclaimed back then it would be great to see you explore there oh the big power station ot the centre, its so big quad bikes loads of parallel tunnels stretched for bloody miles each one parallel to the others .
IKS are probably the only people who have not been up Farleigh Down tunnel! The super huge generator is no longer accessible as the former museum is now owned by Restore who will not let anyone down there :(
The 4 cylinder engine you came across could be from that back half of the tractor you found......
Cool place thanks for taking us along
That rave must have been fucking amazing
Good vid
Original Hoover vacuum cleaner. Did someone use that place as a disco, if not, they should have The "underground" great name for a rave venue.
+James Lambwas some great things in this bunker they did have a disco/rave in here, I want to know when the rave happened! I do know it was between 2008 and now :S
Classic cut and cover design.at the start.not tunnelled out. but dug from above then covered eith beams etc.then amazing arch brickwork. Ace!! shame about the bloody vandalism.
what the fuck are there massive iron tractor wheels and axle doing in a bunker.??? creepy.
+Jp S yeah is well crazy :S
lots of good steel down there, if you put the work in hauling all that stuff out, you could profit a few hundred in scrapping it all
Could what you thought was a pillar drill be an English Wheel used for putting a curve in to sheet metal? Great video though, i thoroughly enjoy watching your explorations.
"Lots of reference to 'Ham' down there.. By that, are they referring to West Ham?" :)
+Major Gowan Resident of Fawlty Towers I noticed that I don't know :s
It's slang for Hard as a Motherf*****, but also means going crazy. I guess it was put on the walls the same time as that "party" to say let's get wasted.
At minute 22 those two devices look like sterilizing machines in a hospital uses vacuum to make more efficient at reaching needed temperature.
How are you doing folks?
+MeesterDash not to bad folk :)
lol Excellent! Stay safe out there
IKS Exploration have you seen the round pillboxes at stockbury
I'd be afraid I'd get lost down there. Must have been very frightening during an air raid!
Very smelly I bet
what are those dividers you think ??? at 5.20
+Raymond J might have been toilet sections maybe :S
Am I the only one thinking it's such a shame that old bike frame sitting down there rotting away? O_o
Amazing place, I can't believe the size of that complex. How the hell did they get that tractor axle down there??
The lamp is not so long old The fluorescent tube.
Again a nice video,
Wish you a nice weekend, What is that down there a camp, Illegal camp ?
I believe some people had a party / rave in there sadly :(
lots of history in there with all the old tools and other things i would love to have some one drop off a load of stuff like that i could make a lot of yard art with that stuff
It’s crazy it’s all basically untuched
Keep up the good work Folks..
Looks like you guys when before this location became well known 😮
if I was u guys I head back there with a pickup and grab those bike frames and anything else u can haul. a lot of hose things are hard to come by, not to mention worth a bob or 2. would be good to save them from damnation! haha
I feeling like theses videos! I had a question about what kind of camera do you use?
Its like an aladdin's cave down there i could spend weeks down there :)
That's unnecessary and offensive to some. Please keep your racism to yourself.
Getting access is not easy but if you want to see some tunnels HMS forward Royal Navy headquarters WW2 Newhaven East Sussex.
+clifford parsons its sealed sadly we few weeks back :(
Was those tunnels being dug by hand ? or they had some machinery ?
at 550 u can see a shadow person on the wall look very very good to the right of the frame shot
Here's a question. What shelter in which you have seen through the years would you use if world war 3 ever broke out?
canister at 10:03 is an old canister vacuum cleaner probably Electrolux
+napleman37 thanks for sharing folk :)
It is an old vacuum cleaner....hover made vacuum cleaners in the U.S.A
that cylinder was a scrubbing unit i think to clean the air
Theres an exit ,is it gonna go anywhere , probably out !
that lawn mower was serviced near me ,but the place has closed now
Excellent video, very interesting but how the hell did they get that tractor axle down there??
Unknown item poss liquid nitrogen container is a vacuum cleaner. My Nan had one.
Love the graf "Nick Catford is gay" lol
+kevlandy I've seen that in a few locations lol
...so will Chris be wearing the hat with the ears from here on then? Maybe alittle paint on the nose and some whiskers too please. Oven mitts for paws, and furry booties, and not another peep out of him, just pantomime when you ask him a question. So Chris, what do you think?
