Would you consider this the last great TEAC cassette deck? if not, what is? and do you know what the last single deck they manufactured is? Thank you! I wrote to them but have yet to hear back.
CeeStyleDj As awesome as this cassette deck is with its studio grade quality of construction,4- head,4-motor direct-drive system...there is one cassette deck that edges out this one,sad to say. This machine would be the Sony KA3ES master cassette deck.It has a couple of features that this Teac V-8030S does not have. The Sony KA3ES has the ability to"control"the HX-PRO function independently from the Dolby Noise Reduction System. You have more control over the HX-PRO by turning off this feature WITH or WITHOUT the Dolby Noise Reduction being"in" or"out".You can make a recording with"HX-PRO ONLY"also, you cannot do this with the Teac V-8030S. I STILL like this cassette deck alot, its by far no slouch for quality or performance. Its just not quite as"flexible"feature for feature like the Sony KA3ES is.
Some people say this Teac has the most transparent dolby.. From a beginning 8030 is a very dynamic one. S7000/9000, F660/770/990/780, Nak CR/ZX can compete. What is missing is a low end. A soldering iron is required

Don't you hear? Dolby on this particular deck spoils the dynamic range.
It spoils everything .
