Teac V-8030S Cassette Deck Service 4K | Gonzalo Rodriguez Photography

  • My Teac V-8030S deck started to eat tapes, so I decided to service it for the first time. I found the Pulley Belt broken and very degraded, the Capstan Belt seemed to be correct, but I opted to replace both and the Pinch Rollers also.
I did a full disassembly because the broken pieces of the belt were located in different places of the mechanism.
In the disassembling stage I missed a spindle washer and I had to make my own version.
I replaced the Integrated Circuit Inverter and one Resistor of the open/close system.
A complete cleaning and lubrication were mandatory.
Finally, I performed a playback level calibration + wow and flutter check. Hope you enjoy it!
    🎥Shot in 4K.

Espectacular video.

“The TEAC V6030S is a fantastic machine and is basically (certainly externally) identical to the -8030. Instead of quartz-locked direct drive capstans it has a normal high-quality belt-drive double capstan drive. The difference is nigh-on zero.
