That’s crazy Waste Management has their own engines. The EMD 567 prime mover sounds so distinct, it always amazes me on the quality that was put into producing these locomotives, we’re talking 60-70 year old pieces of machinery still getting the job done and reliably! Great video👍🏼😎
The Paducah GP10s had their prime movers rebuilt. It's still a 567, but with the liners and pistons from the 645 prime mover.
Never knew Waste Management had their own little railroad. 🤔
Same
I love cool shortlines like that.
@@kishascape WMX operates three waste-to-energy facilities in the area - the largest is in the city of Baltimore. The other two they operate (but do not own) Dickerson in Montgomery County, MD, and one in Old Town Alexandria, VA. All three are rail-serviceable - hence the locomotives. Dickerson is the only one of the three I have not been to in person. (Their waste-to-energy subsidiary is Wheelabrator Technologies.)

Me neither
That's a nicely well used looking pair of engines. I like the aftermarket cab air conditioning.
I agree!
Love the window-rattler AC on the switcher
As a railfan and a garbage truck enthusiast, I never thought to see an EMD sporting a refuse truck scheme. Pretty cool to see two of my major interests morphed into one form. It would be nice if she had her nose painted in white and the B end in yellow as that is how their garbage trucks are painted. I assume it is some raw material being shunted in those hopper cars as I do not see trash being efficiently transported with those. As always it is wonderful to hear that old school EMD hum alive and kicking decades after being built.
Interesting to see older hoods and switchers wherever they can still be found. Thumbs up.
Well there's something few people have ever seen. I had no idea WM had their own railroad.
These railroads crossing signals sure have a full time job
This is really cool! I love that WM has locomotives.
That is very nice to have your train I work for Waste Management in Orlando Florida for 28 years two weeks before my 29 year I was terminated never had a workman comp injury are a at fault accident and never got my vacation pay.
Good catch of an old GP, still tickin'.
I ran that old Geep for 4 years at the CPDR..
Small and powerful helper! Works like a real ant!
No headlight, no horn and definitely there was no FLAGGER at the crossing while pushing the trainset. I bet their safety record is hanging by a thread.
I was kind of thinking the same thing, but it may have been on private property. Meaning the road was not public.
@@r.w.7232 Doesn't matter, private or not, it's an FRA violation now!! Crossings must be protected in a backup move!!
@@davidpoor8638 that's not true. If it is a private road, and especially if it's closed, there's no requirement to do that.
@@r.w.7232 Check with the FRA and OSHA....
@@davidpoor8638 No need to.
I already know the regulations. But thank you for your input.
That's awesome I didn't know they had their own engine!
Beautiful location and awesome trains!
Many thanks!
no so good
Waste Management has rolling stock. A gp10 numbered #8379 and an SW8 numbered #2. They use both the GP10 and SW8 for switching and occasional trash train movements. Sending all that waste where it has to go.
I pass by there all the time...I thought those wagons there were abandoned. Now I'll have to stop by more often and catch the action.
I loved the whole video!!! The airplane was a very cool addition too!!
Interesting,a Paducah rebuild,of many origins,as ex-XX,then IC,then ICG,then Precision XX,then where,a locomotive 🚂of many lives! 8379,you're incredible, and maybe your companion,SW,has as many tales to tell! Anybody,do you have a Curriculum Vite,on those engines, would be interesting 🤔! Thanks for a look at an industrial line ,otherwise overlooked!! Thank you for your time and effort 👍!
I never knew that Waste Management has their own trains
That was an interesting way to air condition a locomotive. Great filming B&O! I’ve been looking forward to this video for quite awhile!
Thank you very much!
I've been watching these guys for years, very professional. They do alot of train building .they have to put up with Vulcan stone and the huge yard across from them at the car unloaded yard. Lots of train traffic. They usually build the set then pickup by a locomotive set of 4-5 engines to Virgina by CSX. They use the same locomotives that haul the stone cars
👍
Awesome video! I had absolutely no idea that WM had trains!
Yep!
Cool, I didn’t know the waste management company had their own trains.
How fitting to end a video on a trash-hauling railroad with a flyover of a trashy airline. Awesome video by the way. Thanks for uploading.
Thank you very much!
Looks like the front snowplow got removed from the former IC Locomotive.
Wow Waste Management Operates trains too
Classic locomotives catch. Me and some family used to railfan this area back in the early 80’s before MD 32 was completed. It was by the 32 bridge over the tracks that was build awhile before 32 concrete was laid.
I gotta look up done 40 year old
Very cool!
Those sure are some cool classic units! Great footage
Thank you very much!
I am proud to say that the SW8 is an ex Lehigh Valley Railroad ‘Pup!’ Ironically, across the street from there is another Ex Lehigh Valley unit U23B #503 in her Conrail blue, numbered as #2779. There are not many LV units in service but to have two across the street from each other in Annapolis Junction is awesome
👍💯✔
miei amici carissimi grazie per il filmato bellissimo del locomotore e per la sua manovra con il suo agente di manovra e per il bellissimo aereo che prende il volo un caro saluto vostro amico giuseppe
Two things wrong I saw in this video, #1 they didn't blow for the crossing. #2 the conductor wasn't riding the rear of the trash cars when approaching the crossing in reverse to advise if gates were down or not.
Cool locomotive
Train carries a load of memories and history😍
The Garbage ?
OMG is that a Paducah Geep? I haven't seen one in 40 years!
Everyone has on their safety vests, hard hats, glasses and probably hearing protection but "tubbie" almost breaks his neck because the engineer wasn't going to slow down. Funny!
I was waiting for the engine to say “you really wanna catch this , it’s a dust been”
Beautiful. Great shot wit a straight on view of the first engine. Love the area.
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
I love the sound of that crossing bell
GP-10s are SO RARE nowadays
1st time I ever seen one of those 👍😎
I just want to say that your video quality is amazing! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
I never knew WM had trains until now.
Wonderful captures, B&ORR! I never would've thought that a Waste Management locomotive (or 2!) existed. Well, now I do! I wonder what's next...oh, how about a UPS Heritage Unit? It'd be comical yet also cool. :-) Have a great day, B&ORR, and take care!
Thanks, you too!
Now this is truly awesome
Amazing video! Super cool switching action!
Thanks a lot!
8379 is EX IC, You can tell by the font used on the number boards, great catch!
i believe it is also ex carolina piedmont rr also
@@lilshag347productionsii6 Yes, your correct.
Upgraded SW8 with 7.2 KW generator and a regular wall-mounted AC! The GP seems to have an AC unit mounted into the short hood...
Oh boy, I want one of these!
Nice video!. Excellent maneuvers and nice yelow plane at the end!. Thanks Baltimore for sharing.
Thank you too!
Very Nice Video of the WASTE MANAGEMENT TRAIN.
Thank you very much!
Is that a homemade turbo on the front of the GP10? I admire all of those who get us videos while doing it legal and not trespassing, preserving railfanning for all of us.
Nice 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great share my friend thank you

See you soon from Hawaii , ALOHA 😊💕👍
Thank you too
Didn't know WM has trains but it does look just like one of they're trucks right down to the dirt and rust.
Crazy they would put dim beacons made for a golf cart or forklift on a massive locomotive!!!
Great video!
Thanks for the visit
Wow!! Didn’t know they had their own railroad!! Guess it’s the best way to get that trash rolling!!!
Great video!!
Thanks 👍

Many thanks for your work. There is always an interesting and useful video on your channel. I watch your reports with interest
hello from Ukraine
Many thanks
I liked your creative work very much. I enjoyed it immensely. 😍👍
Thank you so much 😀
I wonder why it is that a lot of the WM crews don't or rarely ever sound for the Brock Bridge RD crossing. I thought that was listed as one of both the NORAC and GCOR rules that we follow when out on the road.
GP10s reminds me of the Pioneer lines in ohio (PREX) World's worst Railroad but still fun to watch on RUclips
Good catch...............
Great video Nice Train Greating my friend
Thanks for coming
Super video!
