Hey, I'm pretty sure you should wreck a couple decks not to master this, but just toreach beginner level, mastering it will take another 3 decks destroyed, so if you didn't give up yet, all the best
I initially found it impossible, and then very easy. The things that were important for me were to loosen my grip on the lower packet, to make sure i was only contacting the corners and not the whole edge, and to lightly rub the packets back and forth to help the cards slide into each other.
I literally saw my sister do it then just copied her five seconds later. That’s how I learned it. Not this easy way either. She did the thing where you flick them together on the table first to weave them
Why is it that EVERY faro tutorial on RUclips is someone basically doing a perfect faro, and the person saying basically "Now just do like I did" - I'm gonna put up a tutorial on how to play the guitar solo to Stairway to Heaven in which I just play it and tell people to do exactly what I just did.
Because cardistry is all about practise, you need to find the right feel, your micro muscles will need to get to know the positions and movements, there is no way to tell exactly what to do you just have to feel it and get used to it
So for those wondering why they can't do it, one of the biggest factors might be the deck itself. I have a cheap deck that I use for practice, the deck is thicker than what I'm accustomed to and lo and behold, the faro is the only trick I can't pull off, but the moment I switch to a better deck the faro becomes so simple to do it feels like I second nature. Other than that, idk, you might be putting too much pressure on the cards

I have small hands, learned this for two days. This faro is possible! I watched so many videos, and each video gave me insights. In this video I learned: “no spaces between cards” thank you for tutorial. To everyone: ganbatte! Once you can do this, you will able to do it forever
Thanks! I've been trying for a few hours and a few tutorials. The last part about very slightly moving back and forth was the last bit i needed to make this work for me. Now to keep practicing for speed and consistency.
I've watched several tutorials and I thought I'd never be able to do this, but with you I get it first try. Amazing how they just snap together - like it wasn't me who made it happen. I still get surprised when it happens.
@@Ascyt OK, I still suck at this, but from what I can tell, it's important that the two halves make as little contact as possible so you minimize the places where the cards can obstruct each other. The cards need to stay flush but fingers aren't flat and the force used tends to make them get uneven. Don't even try it if they aren't flush. You'll just bend your cards out of shape. Also, the deck you use matters. The newer, thinner, and slicker, the better. Once you've failed enough times, the cards will get bent and make it harder to do the shuffle, so have a few packs and rotate them, packing the used ones tight so they get pressed back into shape (or sandwich them in something hard and use a vise or rubber bands). Keep in mind, I'm an uber-noob and my advice isn't worth much.
OMG! Thank you, thank you. I have been trying to do this Faro shuffle for 3 weeks now, and I have been following other RUclips tutorials that didn't work. I have been a subscriber of yours during that time but somehow missed this particular video of yours till today. Watching this video just once, I managed to accomplish my very first Faro shuffle and it looked exactly like yours! While watching the rest of this tutorial video, I managed to do 3 more perfect Faro shuffles! Your instruction here was pure gold. The number one mistake I had been making all this time, is not leaving enough space open on the right hand side like a 15 degree opening. That made all the difference and what allowed me to accomplish the most difficult card shuffle I have tried to date. Thank you again for this masterclass in the Faro shuffle. (By the way, I finally managed to score the elusive blue Ventus cards you use here in this video and your other tutorials. I have been trying to find these for a while now and was lucky to discover an eBay seller who was offering them. Like your Contra Edition Venuts' they are incredible and handle like a dream).
This video made me do my first accurate faro shuffle, I realized that I didn't perform the 2 principles, the hand position and the rubbing. Thanks for teaching me the principles!
Mhm yeah it's not like I have to manually spread them out and still have packets of 10 or so cards that I have to manually spread out too mhm yeah naturally weave together
So it took me about an hour before I managed to pull this off (almost perfectly). It's NOT impossible! I also did it with a reasonably old deck. You don't need a new deck! The motion is very difficult to explain though. It's almost like you're fanning them together with your right and left hand rotating back and forth in opposite directions.
Omg, I know nothing about cards and I did this the first time. It doesn’t look smooth and professional like yours but it works! My deck is stiff and slippery so I bet that helped
Alright guys, I think I got it! So basically, you level the twodecks, keepit very tight, push the corners together, push up a LITTLE and keep quickly sliding them left and right. in about 8 seconds, they will find the angle to shuffle into each other
I'm still unable to do this, the cards don't open up to then go into eachother. I guess it's like learning to do cartwheels, once you know the correct angle and propulsion needed, you will always be able to do a cartwheel and get it right every time.
Thank you so much I've been watching slider hand and Cardistry videos For some time can you give the most clear precise detailed Break Downs I've ever heard.
Listen to me please I have 8 different deck of cards from various type. Bicycle, Uno, game cards, the highest price is red Bicycle around 48 bucks. But why I can't even do faro at all? Is it the problem with cards? Cuz my cards seems do not want to separate at all. I HAVE BEEN PRACTISING THIS SINCE THE START OF LOCKDOWN.
I was finding it impossible. Trying to merge my left stack on top of the right. Randomly decided to put my right hand on top instead and instantly I could at least get 90% of the deck to merge together. Still having a hard time getting them all together and I keep bending edges of cards :( but switching the top hand helped so much.
Samin Ahmed do it with plastic cards and i have tips for that. 1. is to not press hard 2. Align the up to corner with your index 3. When you do the faro try tilt sideways a bit
thank you dude, I wanted to do this and following your instructions it worked first try. I still cant belive it, its like you just made me auto trick myself
Okay, so fuckin' a, it worked. Great tutorial, man. Worked(mostly) first time, with an old set of red Bicycles. By "mostly" I mean all but the very outermost cards. My means of testing was to split the deck into half red and half black and faro those together. All cards ended up in black/red/black/red(etc.) condition, with the exception of two black on one end and two red on the other when fanned out. Thanks again, bud. Gonna sub and see what else ya got.
You just need to practice. I learned Faro in about 2 weeks of practicing. Here's a key point: when you press the two halves together, the cards should interleave automatically just from applying the right pressure. You are not doing it "so well that you are able to interleave every card" by yourself. The cards just do it. The interleaving of cards is done due to the way the cards are cut. The edges have bevels/curves so they "slide/fall into place" automatically. Just pressing the two deck halves together they will interleave by themselves. You just have to get the pressure right and the angle. There is no way to explain this, it is muscle memory and fine muscle control that just comes after practice. But once you learn it, you cannot forget it. You will always just do it. Like riding a bike. You cant forget how & suddenly not be able to ride. Do not get discouraged at first. The first few days it will be a total mess, but if you keep at it, you'll wake up the next day and suddenly, as if by magic, you're sort of able to do it. Keep practicing, and one day you will try it and magically it just works. It's very interesting. You cannot describe exactly how, it is muscle memory/fine control you cannot explain. Same thing with Riffle Shuffle. I had no fine control and my hands were aching and had small blister spot at first. After a few days and my hands aching bad, I wake up and my hands feel normal. And I try it and magically I'm able to do it significantly better. After a few more of these, suddenly I was able to do it. You have to keep practicing and you will fine tune the shuffle. But the basic/core ability comes on quickly after about a week or so. Wash your hands with soap and dry them fully before you practice, and do not get the deck dirty or wet, and a single deck will last you indefinitely. I have a basic Bike deck thats a year old and clean, handles perfectly. These basic cards are very high quality actually, we dont realize how good they are. They are simply cards so we take it for granted. But USPCC has been making cards since the 1800s and they handle so damn well. No comparison to junk playing cards from a dollar store which don't Faro and are garbage. (I am not talking about ex-casino used cards which are totally legit. But those are made differently and may not handle well for cardistry). A broken in deck of Bikes is very satisfying to hold and shuffle. And they do not break down as long as you are clean and dry while handling!
Not gonna lie, I just got it FIRST TRY sitting at my desk while exporting a video for work, and it's 5;30 in the afternoon. I was watching this video while eating breakfast earlier this morning, wondering "I wonder how you faro shuffle?" I have ZERO cardistry experience and I nailed it first try. I gotta pursue this!!
I just did 3 more Faro shuffles after writing this comment, ranging from a little sloppy to near perfect. That shuffle is soooo satisfying!! Ok, it's a sign for me to get into cardistry. Wish I got started doing this as a kid.

If you can’t do it try using a new deck it help me a lot. But if you are using a new deck of cards just try a little bit more. The cards just falls right on each other once you get to the middle part of the weave.
@@Ascyt its difficult to demonstrate it through words, it depends on u how u figured it out. My tips is to keep pushing the card forward but tilt up A BIT (curve motion)....but do it slowly cuz if u dont itll dont look so nice Good luck man u can do it👍

Can't believe! This is the first cardistry shuffle I'm able to perform with a sh*tty Copag 139 deck! I'm elated XD
Ok so the weave works perfectly for me until like halfway, where I have trouble getting the cards to continue. I have to push very hard, and it helps for a while, but then the cards just stop weaving evenly at the end.
im having trouble riffling it to the other hand at the end. The hand I'm doing the bridge in keeps catching all the cards instead of letting them move over
what i figured, is use a half or 2 thirds deck to start practicing, and slowly shift the two packets back and forth in opposite directions, this will take like, 30 seconds but it took me 3 hours to do this once...
Ok, after a couple of hours of practice, I actually can do it fairly easily. What I still don't know is how it works, tough. Feels like I'm not doing anything differently than when I started... cards are weird, man.

My tips is to keep pushing the card forward but tilt up A BIT (curve motion)....but do it slowly cuz if u dont itll dont look so nice
Good luck man u can do it👍
Just put two packs face to face then apple force either upwards or downwards (depends on your cards) and move two packs in opposite directions making a V shape between the cards like in the video and Voila!
Can't believe! This is the first cardistry shuffle I'm able to perform with a sh*tty Copag 139 deck! I'm elated XD
This is amazing! It helped me a lot! I can actually do it now
bro just did this shit first try and this is the first ever trick i have learned with a deck of cards
This is a very, very good tutorial
I actually learned the faro with this turtorial thank you
Nice now i just need a card of deck easy easy
Nice, I painfully managed to do it with an old deck
There is one problem:
You said that the card naturally weave together but they just don’t…
Weaving together works very well. Good tutorial. But the spring is not going smoothly. The cards are rather together gliding away.
I got like half the pack to do it lol the others... Didn't want to work with me lol but that's good enough for my 5th time trying
I would really like to know what brand of cards you are using. Maybe that would help me.
2:19 push one up the other down !!!!!
I just did it a few times! Not very well but still!
Bro, How do you put the cards inside of each other???
this did help at all all it was doing was pushing my cards together. so please if you see this please can you help me with this
Awesome video!
Ok, after a couple of hours of practice, I actually can do it fairly easily. What I still don't know is how it works, tough. Feels like I'm not doing anything differently than when I started... cards are weird, man.
the hardest part where ''cards should Naturally weave one by one'' is the lest explained in the video. should have take more time on
Best explanation of the faro I have watched so far!
thanks heaps! this tutorial helped me a lot and learnt this in only an hour :)
alternate title for video: *how to play 52 pickup*
This was explained almost write🎉
No matter how hard I try, the cards will not separate for them to weave. It's like pushing two solid blocks of wood together.
Every time I try to weave they just stack on top and do go in between
when the card was dropped I saw it was very satisfying
Get a smooth deck of cards. It made it easier for me to pull off the shuffle
Never tried it would need very good cards for it
What is this deck it looks amazing
Ventus Playing Cards
This is so hard when your hand is small
hardest parts of the trick:
10% faro
90% weaving
"Ahahahahahaahahaha YES!!!!! Shuffle well, FARO!!!"
Use a top-quality deck?
But how do you divide the deck into exactly 26 cards each?
My cards bend, split, and rip when I try to faro shuffle
What the deck
Did it one try nice teaching
