  • Join Jorge and Terry as they look at the newest movement technology from Omega. Were just VERY late to the party.
The technology is debuting in the new Omega Speedmaster Super Racing and will eventually be rolled out to every Omega model.
Omega can now achieve an accuracy of -0/+2 seconds per day, which beats Rolex's -2/+2 seconds per day! Wild, so have they beaten the Crown?

That was all Terry's idea! At the moment it's only on this one watch, so Rolex is winning, but mentioning Rolex is always a winner, you know how it works on here! 🤣

The only thing holding me back from buying a speedmaster is when I knew about this sysyem back when they launched the watch. I knew there might be a big chance they would roll it out on other watches. Can't wait to see it on the moonwatch

Omega will be way ahead of Rolex to the buyers that seek the best of Accuracy in their Mechanical Automatic watches because at $11,600 (USD) it's a steal for what you are getting compared to Rolex. So even when they begin upgrading other models to the 9920 and make price adjustments for that movement upgrade. They still will be better priced than any Rolex. The tech in the Omega Master Chronometer Certified movements already surpasses Rolex for those seeking the best of everything in an Automatic Mechanical watch. buying Rolex over Omega, you're buying into expensive luxury exclusive brand naming. I buy Omega because I like my items to give me the most for my money, for what their designed to do.

Honestly I agree! It's hard not to! Both brands have plusses, but Omega has the technical race won for the moment

I have 3 Rolex watches that are all accurate to within a second per day. If they were a little less accurate than the Omegas I'd still prefer Rolex because I don't buy based on tech specs alone. That's also the reason I don't own a GS...good on paper but I don't like them.

So if you don't mind, what do you base your watch buying decision on? Brand?

@@WatchYourselfJorge It's an emotional decision like buying a painting. I buy the ones I like and enjoy wearing. I own Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Seiko (prospex). I will own Patek at some point. Of my current watches I prefer Rolex.

@@WatchYourselfJorge I have completely gotten out of the game. Have had both Omega and Rolex in the past. Don't see the reason anymore. Prices are being increased artificially while all the things that made luxury timepieces desirable are gone. Parts are bought here and there from asia, the process of making rolex and omega are more and more automated by machines etc. I finally just said fuck it and got an Apple Watch. Unless you're getting watches from the big 3 then there's nothing luxury about them. And their prices are also being artificially increased. At this point the luxury watch game is simply a scam, nothing else.
