One thing that I'm not sure if you or your editor kind of doesn't know how it's calculated - 0.1 = 10 cents. 0.01 is 1 cent. As someone who's been on a bit of a health journey, I've started myself off slow. I find that fast food isn't nearly as appetizing as homecooked meals are! My biggest problems to tackle now are water intake, protein intake, and portion control. I grew up with a bad relationship with food, I never ate. As I moved out and grew older, I only knew how to cook struggle meals in large portions, and never took the time to eat slow and feel myself get full, and I ate when I wanted without having fear. I began eating too much all the time, and gained weight. Which was good! But now I am bigger than I am comfortable with, and am now working out and working towards healthier habits with eating, before jumping myself too far ahead. I am currently learning how to cook, and still getting used to calorie intakes and macros, etc. These meals in this video are incredible for breaking this stuff down for someone like me!

Also, health tip... if you cook in cast iron you actually get added iron to your diet. Look it up! Non stick is pretty bad for you. Cast Iron lasts forever, if you season the pan frequently it becomes non-stick and you get iron in your diet, but avoid cooking acidic foods like tomato etc in it

    • @arihaviv8510

16:06 Chris, may I ask how you did the math here? I researched all the nutritional numbers for every one of your ingredients on the meatball spaghetti broccoli, and I ended up with 726 cal, 61g protein, 49g carbs and 32.3g fat for the indicated portions. The deviation is really hefty, 30% more calories and 61.5% more fat (6 oz lean ground beef seems to have 20g fat as per nutritionix), it doesn‘t look like a rounding error to me. Can you comment please?

First time I started one arm pushups, one leg squats, and one arm chin up was after applying most concepts in book "Pro Vita Plan" by Jack Tips. Book said protein in beans increases by 4 times when sprouted until 10% have 1/4 inch nub sticking out then cooking at 190 degrees F. I place meat thermometer rod inside pot next to pot edge with dial on top of lid. Sprouted beans also are easier to digest which increases protein absorbed into bloodstream.
If this is true, then protein in one cup cooked beans increases from 16 to 64 grams protein. Chris Heria could include the cost per gram of protein in meals.
Net protein utilization (NPU%) is percentage protein body can use due to shortage in one more amino acids. NPU% x protein in meal = grams protein body able to use. Plant protein can have low 60% NPU where animal protein usually 80% or higher.
Pro Vita Plan book categorizes foods into easy, medium, or hard to digest protein. The body absorbs less protein from hard to digest food, especially an older body.

Hello, Chris: Thank you for sharing your tips on healthy weight loss. As a woman who is currently 237 pounds, down from 290 pounds eight months ago and looking to end up at my right weight of 145 pounds. Including training to develop a female Samurai's strength, including a toned lean muscle mass and endurance, which will help me to significantly excel in my Samurai arts training. Currently, I'm working out at my local gym four times per week, including completing two light workouts at home on my off days from the gym. I have developed a very healthy diet, such as the one in your video. My favorite would be the rice with Chicken and broccoli this is a great meal and I tend to consume a lot of it. I tend to consume Chickpea pasta and red lentil pasta which is a great source of protein and it is gluten free, which fits my dietary needs -All my best always

I really like the fact that he mentioned time. If people aren’t complaining that healthy eating isn’t cost effective then they’re stating that they don’t have the time, so it’s nice that he shows you can cook these meals typically faster than it takes to wait in traffic to get to the restaurant, wait in the drive-through and then wait in traffic again to get home. Now we just have to consider people who are in food deserts where their nearest grocer is a bloody gas station or dollar store-that’s the hardest thing to solve. Great recipes, reminded me that sweet potatoes are a great, viable side. I used to just eat it by itself

Faster way to cook brocolli: put it in a microwave safe bowl with a splash of water, then cover with a small plate and blast for 2min.
The water evaporates and creates steam. Brocolli is perfectly cooked in 2min. Obviously season however you want.
