Thanks much appreciated!
👍🤘Great video. May see you out and about that area, if I do I'll say g'day !
For sure mate will hopefully be out there in the next few weeks 👍
Do you ever catch whiting when hunting for flathead with lures? Thanks for the video.
Yes mate every now and then. I got a small one last week mate, was only a tiddler. I'd you use the sz vibes a bit more often
Thanks for another brilliant and informative vid mate.
I cant wait to hit the flats again soon
Cheers mate!!!
Awesome vid mate. I got a small one in the Nth Mole area couple weeks back that got me thinking....I’m a bit sick of herring tbh, might be time to hit the flats.
Get out there mate!
Hella yeah danga flatty season can't wait to spend a couple hours on the flats!!
Few hot days and I'm out there mate!
Only way I ever get a tan 😂
Ripper tutorial mate, looking forward to those warmer months ahead!
Cheers mate!!
You reckon there’s flattys around this time?
Sure are mate, drop offs. September is my favourite month and coming up🤙🤙
@@DangasTackleTips I’ve been wanting to use my infeet and exist on the flats using khamsims and dcs. You reckon they’re candy? Can’t wait for the upcoming flatty vids
Yes mate the kamsims and dcs are some of the best on the flats. The zipbait rigge is also a great option. When there are a few sunny days in a row i will be out on the flats 🤙🤙
ive seen that its ideal to cast out against the current and work your soft plastics back with the current. Do you find this? I always find it much harder to keep tension on the line and I just end winding it in too fast
Yes I do that when it is a bit deeper doesn't matter as much when I'm in 45cm of water though so mainly fish the wind direction on the flats👍👍
👍salting bait.
Prob doing it wrong but I catch way more with bait. But my pb flatty was on a soft plastic
Bait is a good option mate, blow fish in the swan can make it hard at times but still works well 👍
what weight of jighead would you generally say works best for flathead with plastics? I tend to lean towards heavier like 1/8th but am not sure if this hinders the action
1/8 is good mate👍👍 if you have some smaller plastics 1/12 all good too
Incredible timing, I literally went the long way to work this morning to drive past the spot you and Steve fished last year to see how it's looking and started dreaming of getting back out. For now though, it's still skippy hunting season!
Haha all sun next week hopefully will be producing soon! Doing well on the skippy?
I have to heavy of a rod at the moment it's 8-10 I saving up for lighter gear (I'm 14) what some locations that are generally pretty good anyways this tutorial was great
Thanks mate! There all the flats around Freo, point walter and along the freeway from the city are goods spots to start
Some good tips there, mate, especially the weedless on grub setup. Haven't seen any flatties up my way yet, but been getting some decent (39 & 39cm) bream + 3 bloody turtles!!!
Haha I remember last time the fresh water came through I hooked so many turtles in the bayswater area 😅
Just wanna ask how to avoid blow fish if use soft plastic
Hey mate, avoid using s-factor or scent if they are heavy. Also if thick need to avoid just l the slow roll, more aggressive hops. Also using light line you can tell as the blowies usually have rapid small bites rather than a flattie which will take the whole lure
I reckon I’ll be out and about next week, hopefully I can do better than a miserable 34cm flatty from last season. 🤞🏼
Big berthas in sep-oct mate
@@DangasTackleTips Hope to see you out there 🤙🏼
That sneaky trout pattern clutch 😉, one of my favs for the swan haha, thank god this crazy winter is over, big early season flatties coming up🔥🎣
Can't wait🔥
Did u happen to lose that double clutch. At 1:27 the bigger double clutch
I did mate, replaced it since this video
@@DangasTackleTips I fell over in the river about 2 weeks ago and got all scraped up and lost some gear. The next day my brother and my dad tried to recover the gear I lost, they didn't find all my stuff but they found a double clutch like that 95mm in the video. Hehe
@@aidanlau795 haha could be the same one! Pitty about the gear but at least you got a double clutch!!
