    Just want to point out that the term "Prince" in the medieval/Renaissance world simply meant "ruler" and is not actually a gender-specific term, so if it's being used in that sense, the phrase "Daedric Princes" actually would just mean "Daedric Rulers".

    highly enjoying coming back to these 2 series years later. I got crazy into Skyrim a decade ago on PS3 after trading Black Ops 2 to my buddy for it. spent hundreds of hours on Oldrim exploring and reading the wiki on my phone looking for the most powerful stuff. no PC, no mods, just classic word of mouth treasure hunting. I probably watched these videos a dozen times digging into every corner of the lore and was greatly appreciative that these deep dives were around. even today they feel ahead of their time with a video essay format that rivals huge RUclipsrs a whole decade later. still my go-to recommendation for anyone wanting to get into Elder Scrolls lore. thanks for making these Shoddy!

    I just “discovered” elder scrolls & aside from my rainman like obsession right now I’m playing blades on switch and then eso/oblivion on Xbox. It’s crazy how in depth the world is, how much work went into this world building. I’m a bit of an expert on world of Warcraft and it’s not nearly as in depth which is CRAZY because it’s super in depth. Not saying one is better than the other just comparing and contrasting.

    Just have to say that these videos are absolutely beautiful. After feeling the need to get to know the In's and Out's of TES series a bit more, I was lucky enough to start here first, and was very pleasantly surprised. Not only informative into the very intricate parts that characterize the entire TES franchise, these videos also hold an artistic style that makes them enjoyable to watch. I'm a writer (unpublished as is, but getting there :) and as such I know when something is, well, trash and not trash. Happy to say that this most definitely will not be thrown down the garbage disposal, and I'll keep on watching.
    Good job ShoddyCast!

      It wasn't "abandoned", I'm fairly sure they've confirmed that they plan on continuing it and I'm absolutely sure there's more lore to cover. If you really want to learn more about the Elder Scrolls and the stuff that isn't in the games, pay a visit to the TESlore subreddit, do some research yourself.
      Incidentally, don't diss Storyteller, there's some good stuff in there.

    Meridia's Part has references to Middle Earth ( Lord of the Rings and Hobbit ). First of all there was a BURGLAR that STOLE a RING from 'Meridia' that makes the wearer INVISIBLE! Then the second artifact is a SWORD that LIGHTS UP and is STRONGER when fighting the UNDEAD. That can also be a reference to "The Sting" a SWORD that LIGHTS UP when Orcs or Goblins ( orcs and goblins are like the Undead I guess) are near and becomes STRONGER when fighting them.

      Herma Mora pretty cool. He's one of the most powerful if not the most powerful Daedra lord. And by most powerful I mean they could trick or bribe a different Lord into the realm, thus coming as close as one can to defeating a Daedric Lord as all are immortal and can not die. My top two are Sheogorath and Herma Mora.

  • @TheFriippe
    @TheFriippe 11 лет назад +6

    I might have gotten this totally wrong, but I've heard from somewhere that if you kill a deadric prince in tamriel or Nirn he will be bannished back to his own plain in oblivion, but if you manage to kill him in his own plain, he will be truly killed. Much like we can't die in Obilivion (That last sentance was just a guess, since you do not die in hermaeus Moras plain of oblivion in the dragonborn dlc)

    • @Feamelwen
      @Feamelwen 11 лет назад +2

      Nope, Daedra lords can't be killed by mere mortals, even in their planes of Oblivion. They just float right back up on the Waters of Oblivion.

      You got it right you even killed a deadra in oblivion.

    • @MyKeyMoonShine
      @MyKeyMoonShine 10 лет назад

      No that's lesser Deadra like Dremora, Scamps ect. They can be killed for good sometimes if a more powerful being kills them in Oblivion. I don't think it is known if that would work for Deadric Princes or not but I don't think any mortal could kill one.

    • @TwitchtheOvertaker
      @TwitchtheOvertaker 10 лет назад

      I think if you were able to kill one in their plain of Oblivion than you would kill him but It wouldn't be permanent, like they would die like a normal mortal would but after a certain amount of time they would come back

    • @MyKeyMoonShine
      @MyKeyMoonShine 10 лет назад

      TwitchtheOvertaker Well apparently lesser Deadra can be killed permanently by being banished to the void but only if they are killed in Oblivion by a much more powerful entity. For example if the Golden Saints and Dark Seducers are killed in Oblivion they will still come back so simply killing them in their realm is not enough even for lesser Deadra.
      A Deadric Prince is a whole other story. I doubt any mortal would be powerful enough to defeat one. Jyggalag was cursed by the other Deadric princes and became Sheogorath but they didn't destroy him. It would seem a better option to do that rather than risk him returning one day but they didn't which sujjests that they couldn't even with their combined strength.
      We aren't actually sure how powerful Deadric princes are. Aedra weakened themselves by creating Mundus but Deadra did not so some of them could arguably be more powerful.
      I assume they can be defeated like Aedra can but I am not sure if they would actually die and not come back in some way. When Boethiah Devoured Trinimac he became Malacath. We know they can be Dethroned because Sheogorath gave his power to the PC in Oblivion but the PC just became the new Sheogorath.
