I've decided to make something less useful, but more interesting: over-engineered overkill: Mechanical Eye Ball. The idea is to use AI in order to make this eye stare at you. I used powerful brushless motors, with planetary gearbox, to increase the torque. So this is complete overkill. :) In this video, I assemble all mechanics. In the next video we will finish the electronics, and program it.

#GTC22 #robotics #AI Наука
I just finished the Keynote and the "Getting started with edge AI on Jetson". They are truly informative, but also makes me realize how much there is to learn. Love your channel, Keep up the great content!
Very neat design. Really like the printed eyeball idea
Somehow got your videos recommended while searching about robotic arms. Cool channel!
Best webcam for zoom calls ever :)
Great design
Beautiful builds man, I love this one 👍
Sky, you would call that metal piece a 'hub'.
Thank you! :) I was wondering, what is the right name.
"All you have to do is watch the keynote" Meanwhile Nvidia: "Something went wrong. Try Again"
Can't wait to see how fast that overpowered thing moves
A remarkable statement... "now you want to do something fun and interesting"... But ?! So far, you've been doing that all the time ! Alle the topics were interesting and I had fun watching all your videos !
Just awesome ! As usual !
Btw.. links to the components ? Motor, etc...
Good job
Wonderful job! Greetings from Argentina
Very cool 👍
Very Cool! I attended! :D
Kinda sick
Very nice
I used to sit electronics / SBCs on anti static bags. However you are not supposed to do that as they are conductive to stop static building up so maybe can fry the board. Intersting vids btw keep it up 👍
I think this is a perpetuated myth that needs to be debunked. All the anti-static bags I've ever checked showed as infinite resistance (i.e. greater than the MΩ range of my multimeter). I think they'll only conduct very high voltages, far higher than the max you're likely to find on a PCB (excluding HV power supplies of course!).
ESD shielding bags have a conductive layer I’m between two dissipating layers to create a faraday cage around the bag, but don’t conduct on the outside. It’s fine to place stuff on them, but if you wrinkle or puncture the bag, it can expose the conductive layer.
Interesting. In each test I've pierced the bags with both probes, but I suppose that may have caused the outer layer to insulate the inner. Until you mentioned 'shielding' bags, I wasn't aware of the distinction between 'Anti-static' bags and 'Static Shielding' bags. Perhaps the latter is less common. I do recall having one bag from the 90s that 'delaminated', something I've never seen happen since.
You know what is even greater than a giant eye that can detect faces?
A giant eye that can detect sound with a linear mic array to detect sound source positioning before launching into openCV and detecting faces! I feel like this aspect would really bring more realism into any eye/head mechanism and further push the overall useful impact of facetracking/recognition application with the right parameters set up to work well between the two.
This is something I haven't yet had much time to play with but very much want to dig into sometime in the future.
Let's face it, you are already a hero for the community, but if you manage to pull something like that off for the open source community it would even further push your hero status! If you find it at all of interest please go ahead exploring and make it work. If not, hey no harm done. :)
Fantastic work as always, looking forward to seeing part 2! 👏
Missed opportunity to go for the GLADOS look or even better wheatley
Next time :)
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought of the portal security cameras
Would definitely be cool on a robot arm
MORE LOOKS LIKE THE EYE OF THE ROBOT....
Thanks for the video! BTW, did you like that gearboxes?
Well, I just finished watching the Nvidia Keynote and the 'Scaling data-driven robot learning'. It was very, VERY impressive.
The Keynote was rather long, but omg, it was worth it ! The Nvidia future looks very amazing !
15:00 is it just the editing or does that camera lag like its trying to connect to a server in china
Its not a direct feed, it's going through the object detection, which can't keep the frame rate
👍
Love the beard.
May the almighty RUclips algorithm smile upon thee🙏
👍❤
I might have missed it on the patreon page, but what power supply do i buy and what encoders I think i have found most the other items. Thank you for your help :) So excite to try to build this :)

Could you please suggest hardware and design solutions for mechanics for handgun turret?
You know you have subscribers from India as well. I have been waiting for so long to purchase one of these 30 series graphics card
I'm thinking it's no coincidence that it's printed in Ukraine flag colours...?
Of course, this is NOT coincidence. Slava Ukraini!
@@Skyentific That was the question I was asking! So you support Ukraine, great to hear that.

Build two of those and set them to watch your curious neighbour the whole time.
Karma reloaded XD
"it detects my face, which as you can see is not perfect" LOL Don't be so hard on yourself 😜
Are you becoming Dr. Robotnik?
in the next step, gimbal stabilization can be added.
after that can be making it mobile
after that can be making it autonomous (adding slam )
after that adding weapon,
after that send it to search and destroy Putin :))
Sounds like a solid plan!
Wow almost 1000 sessions at the Nvidea conference. How are you ever going to choose something?
registered, when is the draw? How do I get a Notivication if I winning?
That stash……..
That motor is overkill...
I have PTZ cams myself and they have a tiny 3V motor and it works flawlessly and sometimes even a bit too quick for me to position the lens right.
a comment! :)

Flexing with regular Jetson Nano 😂 SBCs new BTC
It's intresting project. But i think it's too big for home.

Слава Україні!
Skyentific, tell us your oppinion about Ukraine war...
I LIKED THE EYE TYPE DESIGN BUT WHAT WAS A KICK IN THE STOMACH WAS THE VOLUMINOUS MECHANISM AND THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE MOTOR ALSO ONE AXIS IS ORIZONTAL AND THE OTHER IS ROTARY WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE EYE BALANCED IN BOTH CASES A MOTOR IS NOT NEEDED GREAT AND POWERFULL ...
Let me explain: I DID THIS TO MAKE IT FAST. AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT ENERGY CONSUMPTION HERE. I KNOW THAT THESE MOTORS ARE TOO POWERFUL. THIS IS THE IDEA, TO MAKE IT TOO POWERFUL. :)
@@Skyentific 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@Skyentific YOU NEED SPEED AND AT LEAST 1 POUND OF FORCE DUE TO THE INERTIA OF MOVEMENTS YOUR ENGINE EXCEEDS THOSE REQUIREMENTS BY 50 KILOS MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE GEARS FROM THE REDUCER SO YOU PROPORTIONALLY LOW THE FORCE AND PROPORTIONALLY INCREASE THE SPEED
@@gatoninja4387 You should check the function of the CAPS LOCK key. You gonna be surprised...
