You're welcome! Playing first person shooters at a really low sensitivity on a normal mouse can foster RSI pretty commonly. I think changing up physical movements completely with a different mouse-type is an effective way to combat that! o7
Thanks for the review! If only you could add one bit of info; the ball is 55mm. The billiard balls are either 52.5mm or 57.2mm. Still... can you use a billiard ball with it? A black 8 is only 4-5$ on AliExpress and I'm tempted to order one while waiting for my slimblade.😊 👍💪
I appreciate the additional information! You're asking a good question. I'll see if I have a billiard ball around to test. From what I know, the pattern and color choices on the ball allow for the mouse to track it easier. I'm not sure how well something of a different color/size will work. If I can find something viable to test, I'll report back my findings!
Great review dude! I do have a question though. Could you do a polling rate test on the slimblade pro using all the different connection modes (Wired, wireless, and bluetooth)? I have seen a lot of mixed reviews on it, so id love to get some confirmed numbers before picking one up! (The reason it matters to me is because I use trackballs to game, and I have a 240hz monitor, so polling rates play a part in my decision on picking up different trackballs).
Hey! Sorry for the late reply, I'm currently involved in a project with a very tight deadline. I can do polling rate tests for wired and wireless, but my mobo doesn't have Bluetooth. I'm pretty sure I have an adapter somewhere so I'll see if I can scrounge it up! I'll post another comment when I get them done. Cheers 🍻
@@sibesound No worries man! I think after a little digging around, I found that it has 125hz for all 3 modes. I think it used to be higher, but unfortunately it was causing issues in some units so they released a firmware update that knocked them all down to 125hz. I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure they are 125hz now. Thanks anyways! I decided to try and get back into controller gaming. Good luck with the project!
I haven't been able to try an expert yet! Sorry to hear about the scroll ring issue. Did it come with the issue out of the box or did it develop over time? I hope it's covered under warranty. Thanks for sharing!
What's your issue? I have been using expert trackballs for decades, I even rebuild them. I just won't use anything else! So I do know a few things about them.
Wiping off the ball gets you halfway there. After that rub it around your nose and forehead skin. I kid you not. It's an old fishing rod trick. If the button clicks are too loud, you can get a bunch of Kaish square silent switches online. YT vids show what to do.
Yo, u considered trying out the gameball trackball? im in the consideration of trying out it myself for fps games mainly. But i think the transition over to trackball is gonna be to hard! whats ur thought on that? thanks :D nice video mate
Thank you for showing me the gameball! I was not aware of its existence but I will look into them. Using trackball definitely is not easy for fps in my experience. I can usually get away with trackball on anything else. To be fair I have not put time into trying to improve trackball aim, so maybe with practice it will reward you. The slimblade pro is still my primary workhorse for anything outside of FPS games.
That ball likes to bounce around in the frame. Each person would have to decide if they can control that bouncy ball enough. But it is super fast and accurate.
I do game on it, but only more casual games. I find it works great for basically anything other than FPS. I really like using it for ARPG'S specifically as usually there is a lot of repetitive stutter stepping motions. Hope that helps!
For the buttons replace the switches with Kaish square silent units. They're cheap and all over the interweb. Or try electric tape on the underside of the flappy plastic "button" for a little quieter click. For the cursor, open the thing up and tape over or remove the tiny speaker making that sound.
Hi! I have not tried another wrist wrest yet as the one in the video solved my discomfort. Might I ask if you were able to find the source of the discomfort with the stock rest?
@@sibesound I bought a "chinese noname" wristrest which is thicker (maybe as same as the Expert's). I think this is the reason: it is so thin and I must bend my wrist upward.
Great work man! Didnt know you had such high quality stuff!
I appreciate the kind words 🍻
It's cool to see someone gaming on these things. Thanks for the recommendation!

Using the Expert Mouse Wireless, i love the clicky panels and the wrist rest attachment.

I am not sure what DPI setting I should use on a 4K display with Mac OS. Could you please tell me how I should set the DPI?
Hello! There's not really a right or wrong answer here. I would try them out and use what feels most comfortable for you!
I have the expert and the texture is fantastic, great materials but mine has an issue with the scroll ring.

do you game with the trackball? How's that like?
I do game with it, but I don't like playing fps with it. I play pretty much any other style of game though, even competitive games.
wait you're gaming on it??

The clicking is too damn loud. Great product though
