Who needs a tach when you can have a giant clock?!
not even a temp gauge if your car overheats
@@procerus3654
You cannot deny that this car is an absolute machine..
@@procerus3654 if your car overheats you get a warning light, so it's not that bad.
I miss my AX... A full tank last more than 1 month, and the maintenance was so cheap.
I had the 1.4 version of this when I was younger. its fabulous economy was my key to freedom. at the time it didn't feel cheap.... the economy was better than he was letting on, so I managed to get to so many more places. didn't start going wrong until it was 15 years old, so not the French fragile you would believe. it was fast enough. it held all the gear I wanted it to. I loved it.
They could 85mpg.
Meanwhile in malaysia, proton build based on this citroen AX in 1995/96 called proton tiara. But sadly the proton tiara all gone due to the no spare parts and the model is expensive
Great review and a fantastic back to basics car. Gorgeous condition too.
Andrew K, Northern Ireland It's in good condition because it's brand new. You do realise how old this footage is ?
Yes, figured that out later! Shame as I love older cars. Thanks anyway for confirming.
SRM Solar radiation management Geoengineering it wasn't brand new when this was filmed hence "used car", it was 4 years old as he stated so this was filmed in 2001
I had a 1988 one: 55 hp and in poverty spec. Yes, it was light and zippy but shoddily made. Passive safety was not a thing.
I had an accident in it and was very lucky not to get hurt.
Fuel economy is a fine thing - but in this car, they went too far.I'm glad to sacrifice a few mpg for solid build.
The AX14 diesel had to the worlds most economical car at the time as it could do 85mpg and the AX15 diesel could do 70mpg.
I can vouch for that. I had an AX diesel which I bought for £100 and owned for about 4 years. I only ever used it in town, and it consistently managed over 60mpg. It passed every MOT, mainly because the previous owner kept it in tip top condition, and the only thing I bought for it was a battery. However its exhaust was disgusting, especially when starting from cold .
the burgerking guy did 9 engine swap in 600000 km
This still a perfectly okay car for city.
We use this still on the Motorway much better than city mpg
I had 3 AXs, the last of which was the AX 11 forte that came with GTi spec. Wonderful little car.. Wish I still had it tbh.
That music is sooo annoying
The Diesel was one of the most economical cars ever made. Cars like this are the future, not Tesla fat assed monsters!
I remember looking at one of these when shopping for my first car. I'm 6ft4 and couldn't even fit inside it :')
I bought this as my first carz I'm 6ft and have trouble with the steering wheel hitting my legs. I absolutely love it, though. Been infected by the Citroen virus via my dad. His first car was a Visa
I'm 1,93 Meters tall and IT IS my First Car. I Love IT.
I'm 17 and 196cm... Do you guys think I should buy it?
owned one…..awesome
Still a nice car .
Malaysian call proton tiara cars
In 20 years modern cars will look as funny as this
Let me say I don't agree :) For me the 80s and the first half of 90s was the worst period of cars desing ever. All cars looked boring, quadrathic, black plastik inside... Just my opinion
@@Chopin1995 for me it's the opposite.
What model replaced the Saxo? The c1 or the c3?
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_Saxo
Kade O'Donnell C1
Fanatical about Cars And Shiba Inus originally the C2 was the replacement for the Saxo, the C1 came out a couple of years later
RWL2012 Yeah true, but he didn't ask about the C2, but good point, i forgot about it!
Fanatical about Cars And Shiba Inus the C3 is also considered to have replaced the Saxo though 😄
i had the in same in same colour i love you my french love greetings from your south African lover
Citroen Ax are good 👍 cars 🚗 🚙 🚘. Very small cars 🚗 🚗 🚘 🚘 🚙 🚙 in the world 🌍 are based on a 3 and 5 door 🚪🚪🚪🚪🚪 hatchback 🚗 car. All Citroen vehicles 🚗 🚗 🚗 are made in France 🇫🇷. The rear on the Citroen has one ☝️ reversing light 💡 on the left and one ☝️ fog 🌫️ light 💡 on the right. The front of the windscreen has one ☝️ windscreen wiper and at the rear of the car 🚙 as well. Citroen Ax cars 🚗 🚗 🚘 🚘 are comfortable inside because it’s cosy. The seats 💺💺💺💺 are leather. Very fast 💨 cars 🚘 to happen in the world 🌎 🌍 🗺️ . 👍
Universally recognized as the cheapest cheap ass car that ever was. And it wasnt even a bad car!
But oh my god the cheapness. So cheap that a quartz clock replaces a tachometer.
bmw used to do this too
So did VW, my golf 2 had a clock instead too. That was stupid since the calling for the instrument was there, and I could put one in when I got a replacement kit.
