That's funny, while watching this I was thinking "What would be the smallest possible orbital rocket" and then I thought "Destin would be probably be interested in that too"... BPS x SED collab to find out?!
I've been watching Joe's videos for several years now, and I have to say the song in this one just blew everything out of the water when it comes to additional entertainment value. I loved it and thought it was hilarious. This is why we are patient for these things. Keep up the amazing work Joe!
In one hour I’m going to see Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX, but now I’m doubtful it could possibly top the first three and half minutes of this video. Bravo, sir.
The trick to building a 1000lbf Rocket Motor is to stuff the fuel into the cylinder thing really tightly and then let it dry and screw on a nozzle of some kind! Then you wait until it dries and put fire near it when you want it to go in the other direction away from you 👍 You're welcome, I'm just here to help a fellow RUclipsr making videos about things and stuff 🙏 #TechTip
Had my two little gals, 5 and 10, dancing round the living room whilst learning to create solid rocket motors with well designed and redundant seals and ideally shaped thrust venting nozzles. Without damaging their lungs or digestive systems. I really wasn’t expecting to do that on a Friday evening. Thanks BPS Space.
@@jasongrim2027 oh totally… but I also kind of hope they don’t keep it mind to try and get their hands on perchlorate / metallic powders or even basic lathe / metal turning or CAD driven milling equipment. Been flying with NAR and Tripoli since 1969, with a few breaks. Level 3 for over 20 years. Still learning things watching your channel. Keep up the good work!
i have perceived the musical number at least several billion times and will continue to do so until the eventual heat death of the universe, banger video as always
I think that musical number is the best thing I’ve seen on RUclips in the last 10 years. I was thoroughly entertained as well as educated. Wow. It made me smile with delight, just like the early days of the Internet. Thanks for that bit of sunshine, Joe.
No it doesnt. If you're moderately attractive, young, and have good charisma and a voice it takes zero balls. If he was ugly, old, fat, and awkward it would take balls.
Yes finally this dropped! When i think about when i subbed to this channel because i was doing simple motors and this channel was doing the hardware, where Joe stated that he hates making engines. Now the guy is doing a space shot, and i am pretty sure by the end of this decade Joe Bizzle will definitely be working on a lunar lander!
Honestly, Been following your channel for ages and I can honestly say this was the best video you've ever made. I never knew what I needed most in my life was a musical number about building a rocket motor.
Just leaving a note to congratulate you Joe @BPSspace on both your successful burn of that motor and the outstanding content of this video. Really glad you included the song - well written and performed - which just brought more humor and humanity to your always excellent work. Many more nominal missions ahead!
Upside down rocket tests are a well established method . The Apollo program dug a big hole to test their biggest rocket engine (they never flew that one) .
That Broadway opening (disguising a class in building a solid rocket engine lol!) was a fantastic lead-in to your engine's outstanding burn! Well done on all accounts, Joe!!
I just came back to this video and realized that, while the song about the build process isn't exactly the kind of music I like listening to, u are most definitely not a bad singer. But part of that is that ur voice is pleasant to listen to in general. I almost never talk in my videos coz A) my spoken english isn't nearly as good as my written english might suggest and B) I don't think my voice is nearly as nice to listen to. None the less I've received multiple comments over the years asking me to talk in my videos, so I do have a few videos in which I did in fact talk instead of writing everything in text overlays. But u've got the perfect voice for RUclips videos (and singing) so it's a good thing u are running a RUclips channel.
There wasn't a bad part of this video and there are some parts that need an award! I am excited to see what the future holds for your space shot! Are you planning on launching the actual shot from FAR or Black Rock? I would love to see you at Black Rock some time!
Anyone else feel dumb for watching the other episodes for hours when you could have just fast forwarded to this one and got the musical re-cap and see it fire? (jk, congrats on the successful test Joe, see you in space!)
That introduction song and dance was a thing of beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am glad I'm following this series. I just hate i take so long to work my way down my sub list alphabetically.
Hey Joe, I just noticed that everything you do here lines up with my daily work. Am was trained electric Lal engineer, self learned mechanical engineering. Over my whole career, I when through electronic design, test and manufacturing. Now ironically spending about 70% in mechanical design and 30% in electrical. From CAD to 3D print, wood shop to a Haas cnc, lathe, welding, ... at home. I just love building things. I have not built a rocket before, but if you need help in anything, I would love to work with you. I would learn a long and have much fun is just all I am looking for.
Supposing you really do the spin casting, remember two things: 1) The spin casting mount must be structurally solid, and the more solid the better, wobble is bad for this, because it results in uneven coatings; and 2) Use roller bearings (or maybe simple bushings), not ball bearings, because they have better resistance to forces.
You did NOT make a whole song for this, OMG. Stellar video and series establishing once again why this is one of the very few channels on RUclips that's a "drop everything and watch new videos". Amazing job.

The dedication in that song is probably the highlight of the video. Absolutely amazing. lol Love this channel. That burn looked really good, there I didn't see any explosions so that means minimal to no bubbles in the mix.
Dude, that was a very slick video intro. Very well done. You've come very far over the years since you went through that rough patch where you needed a break from your channel.
