  • Here's a quick break down of how I make a patch with the Helix. Hopefully this workflow helps you in some way! I updated the patch to be full stereo in the reverb section in the download. Enjoy!

Really interesting that you choose a 4x12 greenback for a strat! Not necessarily what I think of when I think strat tone haha! But you definitely rock it. I've used your Only King Forever patch for that song for a long while now.

I think your reverbs were still mono at the end. Great tones!

What do the mono and stereo things mean?

Nice patch. My Strat has "Classic Strat" pickups in it so I had to do some tweaking to get it to suit my tastes. I do have a question, though. When you set up your Bucket Brigade Delay you did it on the unit. I tried to set it up using the editor and since I couldn't really see what you were doing since you did it on the unit I didn't get the same result. Can you possibly tell me what you did step by step. I'm sure others will be wondering the same thing. Other than that....really nice patch. I especially like what you did with the delay and reverbs.

Pretty simple set up with the Feedback switch. Apply the Bucket Brigade delay to a Footswitch. Next press down and hold the feedback knob until it moves to the next screen, finally apply the setting to Min: 30 Max:100. Then name the footswitch as you want. Done!

@@WorshipGuitarSound I love using Transistor Tape for my Delay oscillations, but i put it IN FRONT of a very mildly driven Scream 808 for the kind of saturated repeats that you hear on the end of Radiohead's "Karma Police".

Hi There, Thanks for sharing all the great insights on the Line 6 Helix. I recently bought a unit and love the unit except that when used in Church, there is a persistent hissing noise in the amp and also in the mix. The noise is present the moment Helix is turned on even though the volume knob is turned down to zero. Just wondering if you have any insights?

Make sure phantom power is turned off at the board, next check your cables. That’s where I would start.

@@WorshipGuitarSound Thanks, When you mentioned about the board, do you mean the Helix? I checked and the phantom power is off in the global setting. During our rehearsal yesterday, I have swapped different guitar cables, even power cords, but still didn't help.

Then Daniel Oh sorry, I mean phantom power from the mixer or source that you’re sending audio to. For example a mixing console might have phantom power applied in case there was a condenser microphone. Make sure it’s turned off there.

@@WorshipGuitarSound OK, thank you so much for the reply, I will check with the sound man this Sunday if there is phantom power and if he can turn it off at the mixer.

One big problem found in Churches and other places too is in their wiring. They lack an isolated ground system. All neutrals and grounds are on same bar in panel box. Many times a neutral and a live wire is interchanged on an outlet thus creating more dirty electricity for your processor. you may need to use a clean power center. I got one years ago under a $100 years ago. If u have a mod effect on in your preset the noise will be worse also. Good luck

What would you do in the Helix to make the patch sound like this? Dry Saturated Tube from Digitech? ruclips.net/video/cAeZ8tZA5h4/видео.html
