  • Aggregation
A critical feature of AEMC power quality and power logging instruments is data aggregation. This is a process in which an average value is calculated for a measured parameter over a user-specified time interval. This value is then included in the instrument’s recording. Aggregation allows PowerPad and PEL instruments to make more effective use of storage capacity, without discarding any individual measurements made by the instrument. Aggregation is especially effective for long recordings where overall trends are of more value than minute-by-minute details.
This short video briefly describes how aggregation works. We also explain the differences between how different instrument families perform aggregation, including how aggregated measurements are time-stamped in a recording.
