You, mactics, and plunder are responsible for my ever growing list of 20+ builds for all 3 of my characters. Without a doubt one of the most fun things about destiny right now is grabbing all these builds and taking em into onslaught to see how they hold up. Most fun I’ve had with destiny in a good while.
This is what D2 is all about. Being able to experiment with tons of different ways to play and coming together to try to find the absolute best (of everything).
In any game that features them, having decoys or goons that you can deploy is GOATed. Everyone always underestimates them, but pet/summoner/decoy builds are outrageous in PvE content where the enemies are forced to switch aggro, or otherwise aren't smart enough to focus down the players. It's that way in Diablo, WoW works on those rules for all their tanks, and it's still true here as well. I'm not shocked at all that the Shaxx decoy is so dominant. Stasis is also king in Onslaught for the same reason. CC, baby.
Saint 14 build edge of action, bubble obviously, any heavy or primary you like. Give it a go for survivability it top tier pin spawn down with the mini bubble get buffs and a blind rinse and repeat, enemies on the point? Put big or small bubble down blind everything there and protect adu from shots. Not flashy or massive ad clear but the control and survival is top tier
Consecration is so criminally underused considering it gives you a third melee type and is incredibly powerful at clearing rooms and heavy clusters of targets
25:37 Considering the Witness has a faction of every enemy race under its influence, it's surprising this game mode doesn't have every enemy race possible. My guess it just wasn't feasible with the amount of time they had

I don't have build for ya Cross but I do have a challenge for ya. Go into Onslaught as a Free-To-Play Guardian, with weapons you can only get if you are rocking D2, Forsaken, and the 30th Anniversary gear, that means, Last Wish, VOG, Crota, and King's Fall gear, Dares, and the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. No Spire, Deep, or Warlord's dungeon weapons, no Garden, Vow, or Ron weapons or gear. It's Onslaught on a Budget, can you do it.
Salvations grip Behemoth Hoarfrost-z Reliable kinetic and energy maybe for champs, shriekers, and tormentors Dunno about fallen but need cc? Done, need them dead? Done, need cover? Done, need damage? Done, need healing? Done Just practice with salvation’s before hand…do not use the explosive mode unless you *absolutely need* to or the target is frozen It’s great for locking an area down to get some room to breathe for you and your team Cryoclasm and tectonic harvest with the overshield fragment with whatever other fragments you need but ofc the 1. grenade recharge for breaking a crystal 2. The fragment that buffs shatter damage and 3. The fragment that offers reduced damage for being near frozen targets and stasis crystals…now while it’s definitely fun i’m not gonna say 3 peeps running this simultaneously is good (turns GMs into strikes) but it’s definitely a vibe
Level 6 noob here (I still run 100 resilience)….can you use that stasis bow that freezes and hip fire it at the ADU??? Hey. I wonder if duskfield grenades on TOP of the ADU is the way to go?? Do they increase the defense of the Adu? Maybe??
And I kept saying Renewals for Legend Onslaught was an S tier choice but no one believed me. I have over 1 mil Revenant kills. I’m a hardcore Stasis main on Renewals. But hey, all you Hunters, keep using tether. Less of a chance for Renewals to get nerfed. Again…
I would change the weapons to Heliocentric with Demolitionist and Incandescent, and use Dragons Breath. Top slot is dealers choice, though I fancy a Riptide with Autoloading Holster and Chill Clip, Also Roaring Flames instead of Consecration.
Pyrogale isn't what makes consecration good. All pyrogale is good for is making your super on and done. Pyrogale is is a swap exotic. It is very underwhelming otherwise. Like on hunter shards of galanor buffs super regen and super energy back on use or celestial which give a huge dmg buff, and gives increased super regen on precision kills. Also if you get a kill with it it refunds like a third of golden gun. Pyrogale is poopoo. In comparison.
You might actually end up getting better mileage off of Phoenix Cradle than Ashen Wake. It extends the Sun Spot Durations and also makes it heal allies. I feel consecration is effective enough without the buff from Pyrogale.
I rock Peregrine grieves, Multimach, ruinous effigy, falling guillotine, using void for the shield bash and bubble, I mostly do ad clear and high value target take downs, not exactly boss, and the simple way to change that is sunshot in place of ruinous, and use solar subclass burning maul with the shoulder charging ability, kick the boss, pop super and slam for ad clear and good boss damage with changing my guillotine into edge transit, that's my build for titan
I feel like a true build battle would have all 3 guardians using the same build, that way you know exactly what the build can accomplish. Having a different build included in the fireteam could impact results depending on synergy.
The lack of a solar weapon is the downfall of the titan build. Vex mytho or maybe even sunshot would provide infinite uptime on restoration and radiant, bloodline is a waste of an exotic for solar subclasses. Radiant gives you antibarrier so a sidearm is completely unnecessary. Rockets work for overload and the ignitions also work for unstop so yea that build needs some tweaking to be better, it’s definitely on the right track ✌🏼
Concentration is op instantly stunning Unstopables with grenades or melee... i highly recommend also running two Firepower and one kickstart as long as you get a kill with grenade you end up waiting like 5 seconds for your grenade at 100 disc...but thats my opinion
Decoys are a must I literally had tormentor just sit trying to take down Shaxx and he's on he's phone Narrating a Crusible match😂 we hot to take him down before he even made Shaxx look away.
I rock a renewal build with bx5, demolitionist + incandescent. riptide. dragons breath. solar + stasis stack really well with the seasonal mods. insane amount of grenade energy. constantly throwing them.
Stasis is great in horde activities, but man it needs help. The ONE thing that makes stasis really viable imo is salvations grip, and that's just for the area denial and extra shatter with shatter dive. But once the mod that causes the shards to hit enemies goes away, stasis will again be in a poor place power wise, save behemoth which absolutely COOKS.
I’m using the same hunter build but since I don’t have the exotic I’m using a headstone vulpecula with indebted kindness and dragons breath or the craftable raconteur bow with archers/headstone. It’s a fun build when you get sick of running tether
25:25 I've rewinded it a few times now and I just absolutely cannot understand what he is trying to say, anybody know what's happening here? edit: wrong time
@Aztecross I just kept your orginal build you made for titan on Ash wake the bomber build and weapons sunshot and boss damage drangons breath I'm good with it titan for life
Builds using buried bloodline feel like they’re kinda cheap in this. That gun is doing so much outside of the build and all you do is equip it. I get it’s strong but I think for build battles it should be more focused on the actual builds not just the exotic granting you devour.
I really enjoyed using precious scars on my solar Titan with consecration+ roaring flames. Paired with a friend using banner of war we were almost unkillable.
I also pair fate bringer with buried bloodline because it has osmosis in 3rd column and can get adrenaline junkie in 4th column. Use buried to proc devour then swap to fate bringer and throw a nade and get more grenades with devour and subclass element weapons kills with fate.
Here you are farming Legend Onslaught over and over and i'm losing on normal wave 48 with console players that take forever to turn around and take their supers to orbit. smh
These build battles make no sense, if your gonna do a build battle, it should be with the same exotic and how different ways to utilize that exotic, not put a solar build against a stasis build, apples and oranges. Specially when cross is in love with stasis, he is already biased, you can see it from the beginning, if he don’t believe in the build, then he tests it poorly.
They really need to buff the hunter stasis super. That tracking is so common where it would chase a single target then get stuck/disappear. Let alone that it doesn't do that much damage. I hope they change up its tracking to be more aggressive and consistent later in the future.
The stasis super likely either got stuck in the wall for the first few seconds or it was tracking onto a boss that was already almost dead @13:20 Squall’s tracking is based on enemy type, it prioritizes high health targets

That acolyte killed you slow and steady all by himself. he was literally right next to you the whole time you just ignored him cause you didn’t think he was a threat
Glad to see the honeybun build reaching more and more people !
That hunter build looks great. Stasis best on all 3 classes confirmed?!?!!
This is what D2 is all about. Being able to experiment with tons of different ways to play and coming together to try to find the absolute best (of everything).
perfer cross using the build. Im not a fan of not watching the build being used.
I swear making shaxx the max level decoy is the best thing they made in onslaught.
Try a thorn necrotic grip build it’s disgusting
Vesper of radious is slapping in onslaught
I typically use Verglas Curve + Cartesian/Indebted on the Renewal Grasp build. Stasis crystals are so strong with the seasonal artifact
Yeah with that first build I was also questioning the same things about this build as well... Especially with that sidearm choice... 🤨🧐
The sidearm was for anti barrier and to proc devour for more grenades. Don't think he utilized devour as well as he could've
25:37 Considering the Witness has a faction of every enemy race under its influence, it's surprising this game mode doesn't have every enemy race possible. My guess it just wasn't feasible with the amount of time they had
dude seeing these onslaught videos brings me much joy, a defense mode is all i ever wanted and now you can build into that which is sick.... Bleak Watcher, Renewal Grasps, i dont know about ward of dawn but like really cool
I had so much fun watching this build battle, Cross you and your team are awesome man and to both contenders, great builds, I'll definitely be grabbing that stasis build for DIM and dubbing it.... SAFESIS!!!
Imagine if they just replaced Gambit with Onslaught and continued developing it. That'd be nice
42 clears of Warlords Ruin (Mostly weekly clears with all bones collected buff and Master Completion buff) and NO F---ING EXOTIC SIDEARM!!!!!
Salvations grip
Behemoth
Hoarfrost-z
Reliable kinetic and energy maybe for champs, shriekers, and tormentors
Dunno about fallen but need cc? Done, need them dead? Done, need cover? Done, need damage? Done, need healing? Done
Just practice with salvation’s before hand…do not use the explosive mode unless you *absolutely need* to or the target is frozen
It’s great for locking an area down to get some room to breathe for you and your team
Cryoclasm and tectonic harvest with the overshield fragment with whatever other fragments you need but ofc the 1. grenade recharge for breaking a crystal 2. The fragment that buffs shatter damage
and 3.
Nezaracs Sin + Graviton Voidlock with tons of weakening nades. Better than Verity’s Brow and Contraverse
I think I’m seeing the idea behind Fatebringer actually. It’s Osmosis+something in column 4, either Frenzy, Firefly or Adrenaline Junkie I assume?
I used helm of Saint 14 and had 100 intellect. Made the run so easy. I just popped bubble on adu over and over and they couldn’t ever touch it..::
Super honeybun is wild. Bro had that cooking in the microwave for weeks
25:25 I've rewinded it a few times now and I just absolutely cannot understand what he is trying to say, anybody know what's happening here?
edit: wrong time
gyrfalcon hunter + destabilizing rounds/repulsor brace. I use the title smg, but you can always craft a gun with it and get the upgraded perks.
I've been using an ashen wake build with roaring flames. X3 roaring flames made + 1 mountaintop shot gets rid of most champs
@Aztecross I just kept your orginal build you made for titan on Ash wake the bomber build and weapons sunshot and boss damage drangons breath I'm good with it titan for life
I've been trying to get more people trying unique builds. So many people think you have to play solar lock, void hunter, strand titan.
With Renewal Grasps, you're better off with Cryostesia 77k for immediate freeze
Ashen wake usage will go up 1000% if it gets an ornament like the newest syntho ornament, its my favorite exotic but it's so fucking ugly
what are good Fatebringer rolls, I have firefly and Explosive Payload on my first, is it worth keeping.
The stasis super likely either got stuck in the wall for the first few seconds or it was tracking onto a boss that was already almost dead @13:20
Squall’s tracking is based on enemy type, it prioritizes high health targets
Renewal Grasps hunter has been my favorite thing ever since stasis and the exotic dropped. I have a demolitionist gnawing hunger that would work with this
I wait for the day the sanguine alchemy and hierarchy of needs combo comes to light…. It simply is overpowered turret the build.
