One tip that applies to anywhere in the Caribbean: Check the cruise ship schedule! The best day to explore St. John's is when there are no cruise ships docked.
You appear to have read my mind in presenting this video. My wife and I are contemplating a cruise like this. I appreciate your information on this type of subject.
Quick video suggestion: explore the coastline of the US - from Maine to Texas and then Cali to Washington (Maybe HI & AK too). I’d love to hear your favorite coastal towns, physical geography, climate patterns, etc. Thanks for the great content as always and glad to hear you had a great Caribbean trip.
You should do a video or a series of videos where you or maybe you and a friend draft a “lineup” of your 25 favorite cities in the US or the US and Canada. You could pit the two lineups of cities against each other and rank them based on categories such as cost of living, crime, climate, entertainment, sports teams, outdoor activities, cultural diversity, history, etc.
My daughter and I visited about ten years ago. It's an enchanting place. We took a trimaran tour around the island and across to Barbuda. I'm hoping to return to see more of the interior of the island.
Great vid as always! You really are super knowledgeable and I look forward to every one of your new videos. Here's a question - got a recommendation for a good large world map, something like a 40"x80"? I'd like to put one on my office wall but with every map I see on Amazon or what not I find myself nitpicking little stuff, so I would love to hear what companies you may like/if you have a specific large map you like. Cheers!
Beautiful country and truly a tropical paradise. But no doubt with the talk of British forts and plantations I’m sure there are more than a few good ghost hunting spots 👻
I used to work in Antigua at the tracking station which sadly closed down. Its different for sure. Most tourists dont get out to experience the real Antigua (it was crazy fun in the 80s).
Kyle, I have dreamt for years to go to BVI Virgin Gorda. If you ever make it, please post about Savannah Beach! It is my fantasy get away even though I only know what I read. I would love to know what you think.
Wife and I have just returned from there, the people are great, friendly, helpful and polite. The downside is that the country is a giant garbage dump of plastics, old cars, tires and used appliances. A tour around the island proves that they do not have recycling facilities or the ability to scrap anything. Lots of potential for tourism but there are other places to visit that are not dumps!
st John's, st Phillips, ugh it almost makes me sick to my stomach how bad the Caribbean suffered from colonialism. it looks very pretty though. I've been to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, but that's as close to the Caribbean I've ever been.
I hate that we still live in a world where this bears saying but if you're going to be making travel overviews it would be worthwhile to add a short note or paragraph in there somewhere about LGBT tourism. The unfortunate reality is that countries that could be perfectly pleasant for a straight couple could be a death trap or at least an abusive nightmare for a gay pair who are trying to make the same trip. The reality is is that homosexuality is still illegal on the islands carrying up to a 15 year sentence with zero recognition of same sex couples or protections against discrimination or harassment. I hate that I have to say these things about such a gorgeous little slice of paradise, but that's the reality of what it is and I think adding a short note to future videos of this kind would do your audience a lot of good should they be inspired to look into vacationing there themselves.
As much as these barbaric laws need to go away, it is quite rare for any of these countries to crack down on tourists specifically. It would be massively terrible PR for them to do so through their legal system. With that being said, it's of course understandable to be concerned that any level of public displays of affection could cause hostility. But I think that's the reality of places where homosexuality isn't well tolerated - it's usually enforced through social stigma more than legal punishments.
@@bundevsawhney7578 That's true. I highly doubt that the police forces of a small Caribbean nation is going to attempt the arrest and conviction of an American couple without getting immediately smacked with the kind of diplomatic suckerpunch they'd rather avoid. The reality is though that there's nothing stopping someone from bashing you over the head because they saw you holding hands as you walk down the street.
I think foreigners who move there do so for the quiet and not for excitement. It's a very laid-back island. I wouldn't say it's inconvenient, but traveling around the island can be slow and some things may take a little longer, so it depends on your preferences. I think people who move to the Caribbean are OK with slow pace and less excitement
Thanks for the video.I am originally from Antigua but now lives in the USA.

Very nice especially the suggestion to support the local non-touristy vendors! Good job
We're visiting Antigua in a few days! We're so excited!! Thank you for the information!
The Caribbean islands give me a Africa feel...😍😎🕵🏾♂

Used to live there a few years back. Such a great place.
Great breakdown as always, visited Barbuda in 2014-2015 and had great time meeting locals and the quietness of the island.
Many thanks for an impressive overview of my twin island state Antigua & Barbuda. 🇦🇬 👏 268 to the world.
I love Antigua & Barbuda!! Love the video big guy.

Good video Thank you
Fantastic overview. Thanks so much. I was there once for a day off of a crew ship and am considering retiring there. Love your insights!!

Love your content! Would you consider making a video covering the Ozarks?
You did an amazing job giving your subscribers a taste of what Antigua and Barbuda is about.

Antigua, most romantic place.
Nice presentation. Informative and enjoyable. I'd love to visit.
Beautiful country and truly a tropical paradise. But no doubt with the talk of British forts and plantations I’m sure there are more than a few good ghost hunting spots 👻
Let's do Finland and Norway and other Nordic/Scandinavian countries next
Windmills, tulips, and wooden shoes
There you go! All Done 😉
Seriously those would be cool videos
@@JusNoBS420 That sounds like Amsterdam/Holland
Thanks King
Awesome video!!
Here’s a “fun” little fact: Duran Duran filmed their video “Rio” in Antigua!
Thank you, King
excellent video!
Beautiful islands. This may seem like an odd question, but are there any opportunities for camping on these islands?
I'm not aware of any camping opportunities on the island
how’s everything giong?-yeah- you made gorgeous video. Geography!
👍🏼 Looks terrific, especially the cabins 10:10 on stilts! Did you tune in Antigua's 📻 radio station (if It's still going)....? 🤔
Not we didn't listen to any radio while there so I don't know if it's still going or not.
Anyone into naturism can head to Eden Beach. The only clothing optional beach on the island.

Well, look on the bright side, the tourists give us money, and, they don't mess up the real Antigua and Barbuda.
@@croixs Tru dat!
Thanks

Good review my white friend 🤝💯
Kyle, you are so cool! I am working on people to follow.
Do a Geographic Profile on Puerto Rico?
We may end up doing our tropical trip to PR this year so it'd only be after visiting.
Do they have public transit?
you seem like a chill cool guy to kick it on the beach and get drunk and listen to geography lessons from
Would you stay in jolyl harbour or deep bay
Do a video on Clipperton Island.

Nice
Is it better to use US dollars or Caribbean money?
Part of the reason for less development on Barbuda is that the land on this island is held in common, and is not available for private purchase.
Cool 👍
Did ya eat at the Big Banana?
being that ur back in the Caribbean, I think u should visit Jamaica 🇯🇲 next😊
It’s Kyle!!!
oh thank god
alaska analysis?
At 3:45, Caribbean Will Smith offers free Slaps to Tourist.
The Caribbean islands I most want to visit are St Lucia and Martinique
It is 365 beaches
Yo, why you pronouncing it Carribbean and not Carribbean 👀

I thought this was gonna be on bermuda
Great video, and great job on the pronunciation of Antigua. However, the pronunciation of Barbuda needs some work. ;-) Despite this fantastic video.
He actually pronounced it correctly. That's how the people pronounce it. They do not use the Spanish pronounciation
Bad pronunciation, is in SPANISH Antigüa y Barbuda
He pronounced it correctly in English, man.
@@aSmileyHe sure did. That's why I'm already impressed
Looks like Kyle found a way to write a vacation off on his taxes.

can people in antigua Barbuda visit the United States without much process of visa?
if any foreigners. live there for more than three month, it can be boring and inconvenient, right?
