Thanks! It's actually both right but it depends on the language. We pronounce it in my country, just like the Spanish word. The Portuguese don't pronounce it though..

Hi Gianni! Thanks 😁👍 I guess we do search for less crowded places and the somewhat more remote beaches. But it's also a fact that we film with the hot sun, while locals would go to beaches at different hours. It works good for the videos but we sometimes get a little sunburn 🤣

I use Adobe Premiere Pro, which is just the main software from beginner to professional. You can start making easy videos and learn more to become a little more experienced. Would you be kind enough to tell me 10 must things to do, eat and places to visit in antigua? I am planning a 10 day trip and would like to do something each day. Thank you in advance for your recommendations
@@armannie8921 okay. I grew up there here are my thoughts:
1. English Harbour - Nelson's dockyard you can eat at Admiral's Inn in the dockyard
2. Shirley Heights - It's a party on Sunday
3. Fig Tree drive - Stop and get mangoes and pineapples peeled for you and eat - depending on what fruits are in season.
4. In Fig tree drive you can also do the zip line and theres an art gallery that I didn't have time to visit
5. Half Moon Bay - There's a bar here that I get a lobster lunch. Best lobster I've had anywhere.
6. Do a catamaran around the Island. This will take about 5 hours, but worth it. You'll see the Island in a whole new light.
7. Heritage quay for shopping and getting souvenirs. You have to look for the good stuff.
8. Shell Beach, Valley church beach and Fryes Bay - The beaches on the west side are the nicest and don't have sargassum.
9. Devils Bridge which is amazing.
10. Pigeon Point beach. There's a bar there!
11. Betty's hope
Places and things to eat.
Trappas Restaurant - English harbour
In St. John's - Independence Avenue and redcliffe street. The best goat water on the island. Also try her rice pudding. These are local dishes and that's what I try to eat while I'm there.
Big Banana in heritage quay.
Big Banana in the departure lounge in the airport where I had the best sushi, I've had in a long time, seriously.
Also there's a sizeable Syrian population and I had some of the best Shwarma and kebabs in the numerous Shwarma places around the island.
That's all I can remember for now.

Hi Isaac, definitely a lot of beaches! They are quite beautiful. If it’s the best, depends on what kind of beaches. For remote pure natural beaches, with no commercial stuff, you could also consider Anguilla, Dominican Republic, Grenada or Tobago. We have videos about those islands too. Guadeloupe has a lot of everything too and you might like the southern Dutch Antilles for a mix of everything too.
I spent only 2 hours in antigua and never left the plane because my flight did a stop off here on my way to the dominican republic.

It's like going to LA & pronouncing Rodeo Drive as Roh-dee-oh instead of Roh-day-oh-- you can insist on the former being correct all you want (as this is how rodeo is pronounced in English) but no Angeleno will say that's right.

As non-English speakers, we call this differently. For instance how you would say Amsterdam probably wrong too 😅

Are you for real with that windmill? It's a landmark of slavery... Is it because you're a Dutchman that you consider a remnant of colonialism and oppression beautiful? Smh
A windmill can still be beautiful right? This remark is quite strange I guess. Colonial towns are often very beautiful and living in an age way after horrible things that happened in the past, does not make us guilty in any way. People should really not judge each other so much..
I think beautiful things can be tarnished and should be looked at as such. If you are creating informative videos for tourists then it would be useful to mention important information such as the sad history of slavery central to a site like this one, so that people visiting understand and respect that. The way you presented this came across as tone deaf.

Slavery no longer exists in Antigua, except for the way in which our own leaders treat their own black people....but of course that doesn't matter, does it? @@miribear9906 Just chill and enjoy the beautiful video. Windmills existed before slavery and continued to be used at sugar plantations after slavery ended so it is not just about slavery. Slavery is an unfortunate part of Antigua's history but it doesn't mean we can't talk about it and learn about our history good and bad. We remember all those who came before us to shape this beautiful nation, e.g. see the Antigua National Park's 8th March project. I live in Antigua by the way, and volunteer with many groups to make trails and historical sites accessible for all. We enjoy and love our piece of rock for what it is and its rich history.

I would never-ever recommend ST Lucia, NEVER I witnessed a cruise ship passenger being robbed not far from the terminal, poor island lots of crime.

It looks ok to visit for vacation but I could never live there. It would be too much isolation from the real world.
