škoda is such an underrated brand. I love that they still have manuals coming out. It’s one of my dream cars to own a manual škoda. Also since I live in Australia it would be unique since you don’t see many of them and they are apparently very reliable
We in India get 2 options for the Skoda Slavia. One with the 1L with 115hp and 178Nm of torque, and the 1.5L with the stats as this octavia. Man that 1.5 just can cruise all day long at 100 kmph in highways no cap.

Currently drive a Scala 1.0 3cil, I hit 217km/h on the Autobahn. Doesn’t drive that nice above 190km/h. Only got this one for 4 months, can’t decide Kodiaq or Octavia. Wife wants the SUV.
Great video. It is my dream car... I would go with Lava blue metallic or just candy white color and Perseus 18´wheels... I had Octavia 2 1.9 TDI 77kw in sahara beige metallic color. (gold-like) and it was okay but the progress on the fourth generation is remarkable... My father has got Octavia 3 1.4 TSI in candy white... Right from the Škoda city Mladá Boleslav, Petr from Czech, Europe...
@@paradox5556 they're not even in the same ball park, honda is far more superior than skoda😆 not even comparable. Honda engines are one of the best engines on the market, vtec, idtec, the type r range ect. Not to mention build quality and reliability. Its like comparing a bum to a company manager.
@@dariotodorovikj5227 I would pick 1.5TSi unless youre going to be only driving on highway/autobahn. Especially if youre in the EU, diesel regulations will get worse and worse with time Im afraid. Im personally thinking of going CNG but theres only 13 stations for that in my home country which isnt a lot :D

If you dont go highway all the time and get the car packed full with luggage so you have big weight I think is a very good choice. I read that it does not circulate the coolant until the block has warmed up resulting very quick engine warmup.
Why some new Octavias have the 'Comfort' driving mode and others don't? I have a 1.5 Tsi 150 PS Manual (Style), and can change driving mode just between Sport, Normal, Eco and Individual.

Just to think today I managed to keep up on the twisties with one of these on my hybrid fiesta. It only took advance of me on a short highway incursion, but once we left and we started again the twisties I've reached him easily. Hoped more from those cars.

20 years ago i needed audi 2.2 turbo 225 ps for that speed. Progress is great.
Aerodynamics and gearbox ratios are much more focused in efficiency, because of this the performance is also benefited.

You need adaptive suspention for that called DCC.
