  • I hunt for kayak gamefish in the Bluewater off the east coast! I also happen to break my record for longest distance offshore at any point!
    Safety Concerns:
I have a rescue beacon, phone, marine radio onboard and have lodged reports to other boats in the area along with constantly updating my position back to land. If in doubt of the weather or your fitness stay in close.

monster slimies. Havent heard much about albacore or skipjack but there is apparently abundant big eye offshore in the gisborne area.

Good effort man. I find gilling and gutting out at sea, then just running a measuring tape over the length at home helps look after the fish and the clean up well. Just an idea for you. Keep up the good work :)

I’m pretty used to it now, try to keep the blood going in the legs throughout the day 🤣

thats a horse of a blue mackerel! so cool how ur jig was hit right as soon as it hit bottom. that underwater shot of the double gurnard was super sick as

It never reached the bottom, the fish were in the top 10 metres, as i thought they might be tuna typically they are never
on the bottom either midwater or on the surface, same for blue macks, they are midwater normally

Are you worried about the sounder getting wet like that ? Or is it waterproof ?

    • @SkwidyFishing

It's rated at IPX7 so i dunk it quite often. its better to keep it on for me as it keeps the wiring sealed out of the salt.
