I watched another video with the same principle as this, but some rats and larger mice can jump really high, and escape up the sides. Make sure the bucket is deep enough. Suggestion was made to put something soft in the bottom so they can't get enough spring to leap up. I'm going to try this with my large outdoor trash can, with some soft pillow stuffing in the bottom. With the right bait (peanut butter inside on the wall many will just fall in or jump in without having to have a tip lid. Greasing the inside wall with vegetable oil should enhance the inability to scramble up. I have tree rats, and they are large ones. This way if I catch one I can simply put the tight fitting lid on the can and take it far, far away without killing anything. I also have metal cage traps, two sizes. Haven't used them yet.
I like the internal stop idea. That’s much better than an external platform on top. The balance is not great. Look at other traps like this. You need more weight for the counterweight or more distance from the wire so the mouse can walk forward to the bait confidently only to find out too late it is a trap. You want the flap to swing when he’s a distance away from the wire. He never sees that coming.

Good idea
Very good.
Nice trap idia
I thought it was a great idea but the mice are so wary. You need a magnet on the back end so that the platform suddenly gives way.
Mantaap bos
Indaleste gostei parabéns
Melhor colocar uma sacola de lixo antes de furar o balde, pra poder tirar estes ratos do balde depois
Interesting how different some animals are. I have seen a video with kind of the same trap and there the rats run into it one after the other.
Legal❤❤

👍. Mais l'image n'est pas bien cadrée.
Genius!
🐀🐀😊😄
the plate should be smaller, would be better
Then the rats or mice can jump out if the plate is smaller.
