      Question for you, that metal block with the yellow springs is that some kind of locker if so how does it work, and did u make this or is it a kit, and if u made it where did u get the measurements for it, just curious maybe I can do a cheap locker set up for an old Subaru or half ton Chevy without welding it !!!!

      @@nobody4634 look up Lock Right locker 👍 They work awesome! No welding, they lock under load giving power to both wheels, off throttle they unlock so they don’t scrub tires in corners. I think you would like one. They cost about $250 but are worth it.

    Donn, you are an intelligent and talented man. Here in the UK, we have a saying "Jack of all trades, master of none." - but you are a "Jack of all trades, master of them all."

      an oft misquoted and misused Shakespearian quote
      This so-called jack of all trades was in fact William Shakespeare. The full phrase is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” It was a compliment.

    • @DonnDIY
      @DonnDIY  3 года назад +1

      I mean, if you do things yourself it's still DIY, isn't it? While you do them you get more skilled and thus the ordinary known "hot glue gun" DIY evolves into something else. But it's still DIY for the person who does it, I think.🤔

      @horatiohornblower868 3 года назад

      Donn DIY Absolutely! Every project you do on your own is DIY. But there is a galactic difference between your work and that of the commoners. And that is by no means denigrating towards them.

    A good pair of pliers to remove snap rings of that size would be a set of parallel snub nose pliers fitted (welding or grub screw) with pins. Because they're parallel, they'll never let loose the ring, causing untold destruction and panic. :)

    I see that the process for removing snap-rings is the same as the US.
    1. Try
    2. Cuss at it
    3. Cuss at it some more
    4. Break pliers( a lot more cussing)
    5. Get new pliers
    6. Cuss at it some more
    7. Finally it almost falls out on it's own!
    I feel your pain. Keep after it. That UTV definitely has a mad max vibe.
    How about a powered trailer like a Gamma Goat to put behind it?

    Now with that said, this machine is looking mean. Been following since before the build. Puts the homebuilt go-kart me and the grandfather made to shame.

  • @kornami8678
    @kornami8678 2 года назад

    Limited slip differentials are the way to go, but since your track width distance side to side is only about 3 to 4 feet and your tires will only be driving on grass and probably never see concrete pavement, I wonder if you really need front and back differentials at all. Maybe on the steering front, but probably not on the rear. I think the rear axles could be welding together like you did with the front to back differential in the transmission. Just a thought. Great job! Loved watching it be built.

    Neat design for that snow plow mount pin. Though I think I'd be tempted to put a nut on the end. If that thing gets rusted in there, err, WHEN it gets rusted in there it's going to be a bear to remove. With a nut you could not only turn it with a wrench, but also use a slide hammer to hammer it out of it's blind hole.
