Wow, are there any exploits in this game at all? It seems like this entire run is just using the physics engine as intended. If so, that's remarkable game design.
+frankjohnson123 The absolute only exploit of any kind I can think of as far as Monkey Ball is that it will only check for collision on certain frames so, on one level in SMB2, the goal rotates so fast, if you get it on the perfect frame, you can clip through the goal post. But it's only very very VERY slightly faster than the normal strat.
So, in short, they're really no way to exploit it as far as glitches and stuff.

I only ever played the GBA version of this game. Beating expert and master modes for the first time were some very mystical moments.
Yet the gba version is the hardest in the entire series.

Congratulations on completing expert/expert extra/and master and what's even more crazy about this video is you completed every level without any deaths/fallouts I could never finish expert through master without any fallouts great vid and probably one of the best speedruns I've seen in super monkey ball

This is the craziest TAS I've ever seen if only for the reason that a lot of this seemed feasible without a tool.
Permanent Jaw Drop throughout the entire video. My reaction to each and every stunt was "He/She's not gonna!?! NO F**KIN' WAY!" Props to you.
All the stunts in this video were easy for him to do, because this is a TAS. He was able to use save states, slow the game down and use frame advance.

***** True, a TAS takes months to make and requires thorough testing and knowledge about the game's coding, but I'd say a TAS still is easier than an RTA.

okay, lemme explain: he's not actually playing. he goes frame-by-frame and enters control inputs to show what a perfect human could do.
I really cannot imagine how long it takes to make a TAS. The ones that are more than an hour must take an insanely long time to do.

In my opinion, tases are way better than runs by humans, simply because bots can pull of way more mad tricks and glitches than humans can and that is just plain epic if you ask me.

The thing is until you can beat it consistently expert 7 is the hardest expert stage

I don't see why person waited for the goal in Extra 3. It's not hard to run nearly straight into the goal, and I've done it faster this way without TAS.
Got a replay of that you could share?
I wish I could, but for some reason my emulator doesn't record my gameplay right.
Have you tried using OBS? It's free and it's what I use to record emulator. If you can't get that to work, you can always just play the replay, pause emulation as the monkey hits the goal and take a screenshot. That might be enough to show that it's possible.
Sorry guys, I went back to try this again I could only run straight into the goal for beginner and advanced extra. The Expert one was just a bit too fast. I guess I confused them. I hope a TAS-runner can go back to check if it's possible to do the same for expert, but at least for me, I couldn't.
That makes no sense. The ones in Advanced Extra and Expert Extra are exactly the same.

So how exactly to TASes work?
you control the game frame by frame and choose what keys to press at what frame by a program.
