How about that then? Awesome result. Thanks to everyone who made a complaint to Bury Council about this. Team effort! Here is the original video: ruclips.net/video/ySrrMderr2A/видео.html
Some people say Auditing is a waste of time and is all about antagonising business owners to get a response. In this case it just proves what Auditors can find and then take the necessary action to put it right. Well done.
@@baltvdb Get the thief out, let them apologise and hand back the damaged camera, then let the robber go free. I assume you're talking about the Northern Audits situation?
Well done young lady, thanks to your persistence this should be sorted, i bet the "landowner " is going to be well pissed off, oh dear never mind what a shame, 😂🤣👍
Thanks for the update and good news Ace! Thanks Bury Council for following up quickly. From the units location and note on the Definitive Map, wondered if a planning permission condition during construction was providing footpath access along the car park side. The Definitive Map notes "Path part diverted 05/06/2002". Online planning documents don't go back that far. Suspect Carl's planning search may show a 2002 planning condition to relocate the footpath 78 from a straight line behind the units when constructed to a fenced route along the car park. Good the path will also be cleared of overgrowth, looked like 2015 was the last time it was done; no signage at either end in any street views.
Well done Ace, or Ilene! Having worked in local authority, I have known RoW Officers take even more descisive action, such as, arrive on site, identify obstruction, phone works department, workmen arrive, remove obstruction, everyone leaves.
Surprisingly good council result, they obviously care, well done for instigating this. Will be interesting how long it takes to remove/rearrange the fence :)
Great result & thanks to Bury Council for responding correctly. My council don't even bother replying to anything - unless they want money - and even that's dragged out.
Well done Ace, that's a great result. I'm looking forward to more updates. They usually say they have no money left until the new fiscal year but that's only 2 weeks away so there's no excuses. We've lost 3 footpaths near to me "downt South" here in Brizzol in the last 2 years. Each time groups of us tried to get them reopened but they just say they had been closed due to antisocial behaviour. My friend who has just turned 90 used to use one directly opposite his house to get to his local shop about 3 minutes walk for him but now he can't go because its too far to walk around. It's only half a mile each way but at 90 that might as well be 50 miles. I pop in 3 or 4 times a week and drive him there. He lives about 3 miles from me so my whole journey is about 7 miles. All the talk about climate change and they do this. All his neighbours drive too and some go a couple of times a day. It used to be a bit of exercise for him and his little dog plus it gave him a bit of social contact every day. He gets to see me but not all his local friends. Great to hear you've got your personal problems sorted out, I look forward to seeing your new videos. Take care out there, a few auditors have been assaulted recently as I'm sure you've seen. I'd like to think, with you being a young lady that you'd be safe but sadly I don't think it makes any difference anymore. If you feel you're in danger just leave, nobody will criticise you for it.
Brilliant work, there are 1000s of public rights of way across the UK that have been illegally blocked off, I see a bright future for you and the public if you decide to pursue this new way of auditing.
Fantastic work Miss Dover and I agree, the response couldn't have been more encouraging! Nothing vague or wishy-washy about that, not _'We'll try to...'_ Just plain old _'This, this and this WILL happen'._ So far at least top marks to Bury Council👍
Not a million miles from me. I reported to Rochdale Council regarding an age-old public footpath which had been blocked, to no avail. It used to lead from Heywood Old Road to Langley Lane and was a much enjoyed path. Some landowners do believe that they are above the law 😔. Well done to you!
If it's on the definitive map as a Right of Way then you need to issue a section 130A notice on the council. It's the only thing that gets them to do their job. If it's not on the definitive map, but people have been using it for 20 years without challenge then you need to submit a section 31 application to have it declared a PROW by virtue of presumed dedication.
Excellent response from Bury Council, good work by Bury Ramblers Association but most of all, great work Ace Audits. Note of caution, this is far from done and dusted.
Well done Ace in your investigation on land being stolen from the public. In what you do makes the world a better place and safer place to be in. What a cheek in land grabbing, should be fined, named & shamed.
Brilliant video and great news. Experience dealing with other councils suggests it will take a diligent council officer to keep an eye this landowner and ensure the fence line is moved to its correct position, in the agreed time frame. Often people say yes, knowing council staff are often too busy to check up. It might be worth it Ace if you keep a reminder for perhaps the end of summer to revisit the site and/or chase the council.
It can be fairly easy to get a council to agree to speak to the landowner. However, if the landowner does not play ball, it can be much harder to get the council to take the required legal action to force the landowner into compliance. Hopefully Bury council will better than most. But if not, you might have to go down the route of issuing a section 130A notice on Bury council to force them to carry out their legal obligation.
Well done lass! The fact that hardly anyone walked down that footpath is irrelevant (as per what i saw in the original video). . Stealing land is a sin! Well done!
Thanks for taking the time to follow this up, Ace, and also letting the viewers know. Looking forward to your continuing vigilance. Greetings from Bali.
I think you've just found a really good niche for yourself in auditing that really provides a public service as well as promoting photography rights. Keep up the great work.
ACE result, thanks! And a salient reminder that saying "Someone ought to do something about this!" on RUclips doesn't actually result in change. If you see something wrong, contact the company, council or police force in question - it takes a few minutes of your time and a direct contact is worth more than a thousand comments. Thanks to those who did so here.
Lots of wonderful news. It's lovely your personal situation is better, and very nice progress you've made on the footpath restoration, hopefully they follow through. Thank you for sharing. 🤩
That's good news. i can't do with people who take other people's rights away for their gain. Hopefully, the bill will be passed back onto the company and not to come out of the public money well done ace.
Company should have thought of what they were doing first. The guy that was rude obviously realised what they would be in for, for him to say what he did........good work
Every council has a Rights of Way Officwe oo always write to them and they will investigate and if possible they can bring charges against the land owner as the charges are actually "obstruction od the highway" which is criminal. Derbyshire should know better because they and Yorkshire CC were in court over these issues.
Well done ACE, I am sure there plenty of others UK footpath blocked in similar manner. Excellent outcome and I hope this (and many others) will be fixed asap. I am sure you will do a follow up as soon as they open (or not) it again. Cheers
Thank you for opening up and regaining stolen property. I’m amazed how fast and positive you got an answer from those given powers by the public to sort such issues! And, totally admiration for you following through!
Well done, positive proof that audits can and do have a positive impact and that companies (and others) can be held to account with a beneficial outcome for the general public, again I say, (as I have previously) keep up the great work you are doing and best wishes to you for the future.
Thanks for the update. It is always great when we hear what happened next. I deliver to that area now and again in my truck I will keep a eye out for when anything happens.
I note also in your original vid that the stroppy worker claimed it had been like that for years and years etc? Yeah ok Great you showed us the Google images and there's absolutely no doubt it was a greedy selfish act of theft That path cuts out a heck of a lot of walking round and it's obvious now from the map how it should be preserved. The arrogance of the business for doing that!! Well done for doing this Total superstar 👏
Well done ace. Good work. I hope any work gets charged to the company. It shouldn’t come out of public money. I hope the company has had their fingers seriously burnt. Good work ace.
Really well done Ace 👍💪👍 and well done to Bury Council is ready to knock the council but in this case they acted properly. Shame other councils are slow or even worse don't take any action. Keep up the fabulous videos love your work your drone shots are really good to see.

They MUST fine them to stop them and others doing the same .
Totally, its equivalent to saying if police catch thieves they only have to give the stuff back.
@@baltvdb Get the thief out, let them apologise and hand back the damaged camera, then let the robber go free.
I assume you're talking about the Northern Audits situation?
As a Bury CT payer, I can tell everyone that this a first - Bury Council doing something right!
The power of citizen journalism lol
I can hear them now..."but that bit of grass makes our car park look so nice"!😭😭😭 Well done to you and to Bury Council.
Well done for getting this land back into public ownership, Eileen. These entitled clowns have been caught bang to rights.
Ben would be proud.
"Eileen Dover" 🤣🤣🤣nice one!
Well done to Eileen... the Ace in the pack. What they did was wrong, you have held them to account... and that's right.
They're concerned that someone might nick a few cartons, so to prevent it they steal a swathe of land.
Hmm, "not allowed"...
That's great news Ace . I think Eilen Dover should get a lot of the credit for this, ha ha
Well done young lady, thanks to your persistence this should be sorted, i bet the "landowner " is going to be well pissed off, oh dear never mind what a shame, 😂🤣👍

Well done Ace, or Ilene! Having worked in local authority, I have known RoW Officers take even more descisive action, such as, arrive on site, identify obstruction, phone works department, workmen arrive, remove obstruction, everyone leaves.
If they don't remove the fence and restore the footpach quickly, that will be asked of them lol
Surprisingly good council result, they obviously care, well done for instigating this. Will be interesting how long it takes to remove/rearrange the fence :)
Absolutely. I will definitely revisit to check up on it at some point.
I haven't lived in the UK for quite a number of years now but well done on the public right of way issue.
They don't want to be stolen from so they decided to do their own thieving, makes sense.
Great result & thanks to Bury Council for responding correctly.

Even if it was useless land no one uses can’t let a company pinch it, important work.
Kudos to you. As I'm a Bury resident, I'll be walking this footpath once re-opened. Just to prove a point. tee hee!!
Those guys were scared of theft happening so to combat this, they stole public land. Absolute hypocrites! Great work! Looking forward to the revisit!
Brilliant work, there are 1000s of public rights of way across the UK that have been illegally blocked off, I see a bright future for you and the public if you decide to pursue this new way of auditing.
100%

Nice work ACE, thanks for the good news. 😊
Its a great outcome!
My experience is that the Council doesn't deliver on its promises. Bet this is just the same in 12 months time. Keep at them 'Eileen'.
😄
When it's in the public spotlight, they tend to have more motivation lol
This could be ??? Great news, and a lesson learnt by the land grabbers ? This could be the best and most meaningful audit to date 😊
Watch tomorrow to find out! 😂
You've found a niche in auditing Ace - providing a real positive, community service. Well done.
Well done you, we’ll done bury, shame on other councils for not doing their jobs , like to see a video of works being done
Well done... For giving your time and effort... And well done bury council... Why not make the company pay for the cleaning of the footpath.. 😊😊😊
Excellent job. I thought that you were
wasting your time and wouldn't get anywhere with this.
I was wrong.
You never know unless you try. :)
Excellent response from Bury Council, good work by Bury Ramblers Association but most of all, great work Ace Audits. Note of caution, this is far from done and dusted.

Love this series of "Audits". We need more of them. i.e more "Where have our public footpaths gone!". keep up the good work!!
i was going to call my daughter Eileen but i was out voted by the most important person
What a great service you have provided to the public !. It is upsetting that some people are so greedy they will steal from the public.
Great result ace. This happens all over the country Reported a farmer my self for blocking access here in Devon.
all these dodgy footpaths have to be identified and sorted....great work.
Meeting can go any which way .., but those historic shots are very useful ... I hope you have forwarded them to Bury ...

Well, those bushes certainly need a good trim ...
THIS!! is exactly what Audits are about 💪🏻 absolutely amazing work ACE and glad some of the community are making real change.

She's more than an Auditor. Much more.
Thanks for your support. Citizen journalist and a citizen sick of companies and go ernment taking the p!ss
This is good journalism, I'll be following this 👍
Good job. It's amazing how many private business' claim public land for their own use.
That's amazing. Thank you again. You've done a great job there. Public property has to remain public no matter how much it annoys some people.

Unfortunately the ROW officers are always very reluctant to take the landowners to court if they don't take any notice of their polite requests.
Big up Ace Audits and the PROW Team !! .
I remember the original video. They should never have put that fence up in the first place.
that's a win in my book

Love your concerns!! Time for a re-audit!! 😊
By sensible negotiation it could have continued in a straight line behind the building, as it appears from the map that it did originally any way.
well done to you and all involved
Well done.
100% Ace. Well done.
Well done 👍🏻👍🏻🫶🫶
Well done, there are too many places where this sort of thing happens, keep up the good work.
Well done ace. Good work. I hope any work gets charged to the company. It shouldn’t come out of public money. I hope the company has had their fingers seriously burnt. Good work ace.
i live up the road, and ride past each day, so ill keep an eye open on the progress........ Nicely done BTW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Congratulations, great result. Coffee on it's way 😀
❤️❤️
Hope it's good news Ace don't let this type of illegal land grab become the norm.
That would be telling lol
Really well done Ace 👍💪👍 and well done to Bury Council is ready to knock the council but in this case they acted properly. Shame other councils are slow or even worse don't take any action. Keep up the fabulous videos love your work your drone shots are really good to see.
WELL DONE ACE AUDITS! Top of the Class! 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Brilliant outcome! I think that was excellent work.
Looking forward to seeing you back at that spot..well done Ace😊
