hey, back there!... it's a Nice lookin Big Red'Shaker! ... Well I kind of figured that's what it might be with most all Class 8 trucks in videos that are sitting within a half inch or 1 inch of the ground... that they had air- ride suspensions under them .. with either some type of automatic switch if there is an automatic system nowadays that can be wired in to the ignition or something else??.. or the Old reliable manual "Air Bag" or "Air-Ride" switch depending on what brand of truck you drive and how they labeled it,but it's the same thing.. that old air ride can come in alot handier with more uses in awkward situations than Springs.. One example: say you want to put some new grease on your fifth wheel?.. if you own your truck/trailer & still put grease on your fifth wheel,that is... and don't have a nylon plate on your trailer and another nylon plate on your fifth wheel to almost eliminate Grease mess,use.. And Maybe i should Suggest Only Experienced Drivers that have not thought of this,and You Do This At Your Own Risk,and Do This with an Empty Trailer... you know how things are getting these days... LOL!!! just drop them airbags,grease that ole'5th wheel up,and make sure to wait until the airbags are empty and make sure your fifth wheel and trailer are both still at an acceptable safe height/level to line up & lock,then back up under the trailer slowly until you hear that fifth wheel's Jaws click and lock,then give it a light tub forward to make sure the Jaws are locked & Before You Get Out of The Truck!.. Do Not Forget to Set Your Brakes!!... I've seen people get out of vehicles without setting their brakes!... and it would Really Be a Good idea to have a bright flashlight to crawl under the trailer- between the truck and the landing gear and look up at the fifth wheel and jaws to check them out to make sure their 100% properly locked... because I've seen dirty cruddy fifth wheels that would not lock properly... then go air'em back up.. crack your landing gear up, then you have Most all of that fresh Grease on & around the 5th wheel,jaws, kingpin & trailer and not hanging off the front end! ... I know this is nothing new to anybody that's been driving a truck for years and it sounds like a big long list of procedures... I'm probably making it sound like a longer list of steps than it honestly is with my descriptions.. just trying to be more clear so Maybe some drivers would maybe understand what the point of going to all this Extra trouble really is for! .. its So if you really want to get more grease to stay on the fifth wheel,around the jaws of the fifth wheel,and trailer where it's going to do the most good. ... for new driver's the best thing probably would be to not do it at all.. until you have some experience with your truck and trailer & to be with an experienced driver for supervision so you don't screw up by some mistake,damage some equipment and get fired. I take no responsibility if somebody does this and screws up some equipment!.. that's just the way i did it a few times when I'd go through the company yard and got their truck serviced and the fifth wheel Greezed and then Maybe hook-up to a new loaded trailer over the years. I have dealt with dry fifth wheels that will make you work to drive the truck.
