I picked up my fuel pump from Parts Factory Australia this morning. Cheers - great price. I let the car sit for a couple hours after disconnecting the battery - that relieved the pressure, so there was no spray when I removed the hose. Also, I used a syringe ( a Panadol one) to remove as much of the pooled petrol as possible - the rest dried up over those couple hours. Made the job heaps cleaner.
Please everyone, use a brass punch when removing the lock ring or the special lock ring tool adapter to a ratchet. I dont care how careful this dude thinks he is, but there is a pool of fuel sitting above the pump and you are smacking away with a hammer and steel screw driver? Don't compromise safety because you think you are skilled enough not to make a mistake...one spark and he's a human torch.
14:39 you have to align the arrow with the little dot on the back site of the pump acutally. there is a tool for it also, torque spec 100Nm if anyone needs it and found this comment
Before you put the plate and seat back you should've reconnected the battery and started it. Then you can watch and verify no leaks and proper function before reassembly.
Great video, really appreciate it! I have a plug on the top of mine that appears to be for a return line, but my q5 doesn't have a return line it appears there is a special plug/cap i n eed
The black unit sitting in the spare is the sub woofer…. A very disappointing pos sub from Audi… I replaced it with a Rockford Fosgate 12” 300 watt rms sub. Perfect match for the interior space capacity of a Q5. Make the std sound system kick butt and take names!!!
Hello that blue cap you have take office for the fuel line theres another fuel line hole there on the top I realized mine I can see right tru it down that other line has to seal?
Why do you have to remove the seat and which seat did you remove? I drive the left side. Why did you have to change the pump? Your gaz was not going up when you tried to start the car?
I have done this to my 2011 Q5 and after putting everything back together the fuel gauge got stuck on the line before empty. Is there any fix for this problem?
Hello, where have you found a spare part not original? I need of this "pre fuel pump" for audi q5 2018-2020 Tdi 190cv, and the original spare part cost 500euros!!(crazy price!) Please if possible send me a link of your website for non original spare part! Thanks a lot! Regard.
At the top of the filter/pump there is a small tube opening. At time 14:55 for example you can see it to the right of the electrical plug. Does that thing need a cover? In another video I saw someone speaking about it. The guy says is a part needed and that if not you will have fuel coming up. Is that true? The part is 8E0 201 263 g
@@thepartsfactory4239 sadly I am in the USA and need to work on this this weekend and I order from another supplier. I am worried that I will need that part but I believe I won’t know it until I open the whole thing. Thanks for your video is really good!
ive never had this many issues with any vehicle ive owned in my life ! done 6 of these literally 6 all on the same q5 they never go in or come out the way they should they always fall apart they are made of junk plastic thats constantly breaking and they always fail to deliver enough fuel i cannot figure out for the life of me why engineers insist on using soooo much plastic in any vehicle ! if your going to make assembly this tight the least they could do is build all of the easily breakable stuff out of metal not plastic
Well I ordered this part and the electrical connectors are different my model was on the list of cars it will fit but my 2013 Audi q5 has two electrical connectors with 4wire on one connector and 3 wires on the 2nd connector THE one in the video and on the part ordered for my model has one connector and 5 wires JFYI take seat and cover off before ordering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent shit. The US dieselgate warranty covered my replacement, but I'm happy to see it done knowing the warranty won't last forever.
Literally this video comes at the perfect time! Thank you!
All these cars reaching service interval time

Nice video mate, absolute life saver after I found a leaking crack on the wife's Q5 fuel pump 👍
Glad it helped :)
Dope stuff Kings. Not enough videos on this specifically

It's true.

Yes I've seen this also.
very helpful upload. thanks a lot bro...
Always welcome
Wher3 is the fuel pressure sensor located? Is it with the pump or by engine bay ?
Sensor will be on the injector rail
Sensor will be on the injector rail
Thanks a lot!! Just did this on my 2011 Q5. Besides this pump, do you know if there is a fuel filter that has to be replaced as well?
Hey, I just did this on my 2011 as well. The upper portion of the pump is the filter. I'm getting a P0455 code now.
Great job Luke

Hey what size torx but did you use for the seat? I'm sure you said it in there somewhere but I just have missed it.

Hey mate, great video, did you get a code in the car to prompt you to do this change?
Nah no code. The pump was physically leaking
My pump had a pin hole leak at the top
Great job sir which model was this car is 2017
Is this the same pump for the tdi ?
Hi, is this the pump that I can hear prime as I open the door??
Yes that's right

Did you have to prime the fuel pump..and did you check to see if the new pump wasn't leaking before you put everything back together?
Nah self priming pump. I checked the hardware before dropping the pump back in the tank.
@@thepartsfactory4239 sweet!
What if you accidentally threw the old breather pipe away? I can’t find that part anywhere
Perfect timing. I have the same issue in my car atm
Glad we could help:)
Exactly the vid I needed. Now ... do I have the guts to try it myself??
Is the low fuel pressure sensor located in the fuel pump?
I wouldn't say so no. Up near the motor somewhere usually.

Doesnt need it. It's not used. That's for our part anyway. It's possible to get another supplier where it's being used. Use caution

What was the reason for changing of this fuel pump? Just curious because I have a 2010 Q5 3.2 liter that has a gas smell from inside the vehicle
Hello. Yes they get a crack in the top of the pump. Replacement the pump housing is the solution
Thanks
Mine cracked at 170000 miles
Tiny pin hole leak but soaked the backseat with gas

you don’t have to remove the gas beforehand?
Nope. Just let the pressure off slowly when you take the hose off. Put a rag down.
Was this a gas or diesel Q5? Nice video.
Petrol Turbo. Thanks
