They deploy veterans, in order to give them a sense of purpose and goals not only to keep them productive and give back to the communities in need.
Right, but I'm guessing $201 isn't exactly what their offer would have normally been. Be it lower or higher, putting it $1 over what was paid for the car in the first place was intentional. I mean, do offers even get made for sub-200? Usually, if something even runs, you'll get more than that.
There are multiple other videos of Carmax offering $0 for cars that people bring in, which is almost certainly what the offer would have been on this car if not for the generosity of the salesman. That car is an utter hunk of shit despite us being interested in it as enthusiasts.

This is pretty sad. The salesman thought this was a joke and offered you a dollar more than the price he knew you paid for the car. After he found out what you're doing with the money, he should've reevaluated the car and should've given you a much higher real offer (considering you told him you weren't going to take their offer anyway). You should go back and ask them for a real offer. But either way, thank you for donating the money to people in need.

I sold my mom’s Nissan Altima at that Carmax. The dealer I wanted to trade it in wanted to give me 1k for the Nissan. I took it to Carmax and they me 5k!
When Katrina hit and I was still making money off internet poker, I joined with a bunch of other players in pledging to donate an entire weekend's profits to the Red Cross for relief efforts. So of course I got smacked over the head with every bad beat you can possibly imagine and actually wound up losing $200 over the weekend. But then I figured, hey--in the process of losing that money I ground out enough points to free up a $500 deposit match, so I fired off a $500 donation anyway. Good gravy, did I get sick of getting stickers from them in the mail for the next 5 years. Point of the story: I realize your channel isn't huge and you aren't raking in the RUclips moneys hand over fist, but you really could've gone a bit over $201 on this one. And the International Red Cross is *always* a good charity to donate to, even without the stickers.

It would make a great video if you can track down whomever winds up with this. It would be a relatively straight forward project to strip the car of all the bondo and bolt on crap; replace the hood with a donor and repaint it factory black. Interior work could come from any donor car cheaply and...Bob's your uncle. We did something similar with a 1988 260E that sat baking in the Florida sun for a couple years. $10,000 later it is near perfection. We won't make a penny on the car and may lose up to half of what we spent but it was a great year of fun; met wonderful people who helped and enjoyed writing every check photos are on FB under my name joel palmer

I admire your efforts, however I wish you done a little more research on which organisation you choose to donate with. Red Cross is by far one of the biggest scam charities in existance where only 5% of donations goes towards the actual cause.
