- Otherwise known as; FNaF fans versus literacy! In this video, I discuss the new Tales from the Pizzaplex book series, and talk about whether or not it can be accepted by the community as canon. P.S., these books are really kinda dumb.
Music Used:
Daycare - Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach
Mansion Exterior - Luigi's Mansion
Ferenia - Metroid Dread
Common Cave - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Peace (from someone not DMuted lmao ;)

everything I hear about the quasi-maybe-canonicity of the books reinforces my opinion that Security Breach should have been a hard reboot for the franchise
Yea and it’s not like you even have to throw out everything that happened previously. It can occur in the same timeline as the previous games but it doesn’t need any information from the previous games
Help Wanted should've been the reboot
@@KumihoMahaohelp waned should’ve been nothing. Just a fun version of fnaf in VR.
Let's see how many get considered parallels or repetition since... Frights?:
William: Glitchtrap, 1280 man, Burntrap, Vanessa's dad, Mimic
Henry: Edwin
Charlie: bots of her, Lonely Freddy's Charlotte, David, Mimic1, Cassie
Gabriel:
Jeremy: all of those pulled,
Susie: any Chicas? #4's Susie, Proto-Cassie, Amelia, Gen1 #1 via Shattered Chica
Fritz: Smith
Cassidy: Andrew, Princess, Drowning girl, Cassie
Crying Child: Jake, Gregory, Greg
Elizabeth: Babys, Eleanor, Vanessa, Proto-Cassie, Gen1 #1, Abby,
Michael: any Mike, Glamrock Freddy?
Yooo was not expecting the DMuted lore drop! LoudMouth says hi I guess?
And the Arg starts now 🤣👍
Not an ARG.
@dmuted yes, sir. I just said that because of the end video
I always wonder what mat pat got right that was the nail in the coffin of "we gotta change SB!"
Epic
tales are canon
stitchline is canon
mostly because of the stitchline tales connections
plus the ucn animatronic probably refer to two spirits, cassidy and a male spirit
@_5564_no
Read the trilogy in comic form.
I hated how Charlie died (sorry if u didn't read it but she dies alot)
im part of the crowd that’s reluctant to say the books are “canon”. not only bc it’d be a shady, morally-grey way to release more story beats, or because i don’t want to read kids books to understand the games, but because scott seems to have always been reluctant himself to reveal just how lore important they are. don’t get me wrong, the tales series from what i’ve heard seems to have some cool concepts if it is 1-to-1; that being said i feel like i’ve seen a lot of the other, less satisfactory concepts brushed aside in favor of a more satisfying narrative for burntrap. considering the books’ track record, im gonna take everything theorized abt them with a massive grain of salt.
The book’s lore is the bare minimum of importance that you’ll still pay obviously
My argument is that I don't know if the Security Breach/Help Wanted timeline is in the same timeline as the original set of games. If Tales from the PizzaPlex are canon to the new games, but they don't seem to be canon to the original game series, doesn't that imply were dealing with a separate timeline?
@@sutarikunhe Idea of Help Wanted is that all of the minigames we see were real events that happened that fazbear entertainment is covering up, and although HW doesn’t have much of anything from Pizzeria Simulator, there’s the whole building beneath the Pizzaplex
@@derekmartin5340 I understand that, but... What I'm thinking is that what we have seen in the "original" games is a different version of events. Perhaps Edwin is the "real" Henry of the HW/SB. Perhaps Michael Afton isn't the name of the person who was actually security guard in those original games. Perhaps this is the universe from which the original story was derived. It could be like the difference between the novel and musical versions of Wicked.
@@sutarikuno because books are canon to the games, the games aren’t canon to the games? this just sounds like blatant bias against the books
"Let's look at how Scott has defined 'canon'..."
Uh-oh
Gosh dang you beat me too it, actually couldn’t have said it better myself.
The Fnaf books feel like they were made specifically to drive Mat Pat insane, but forgot he'd already lost his mind by the time the Purple Guy got a name
I have mainly three opinions regarding the book series…
1.the fact that Scott made a book series that had lore implications of a Game series…is kind of dumb.
Like…The fact that you need the books to get some sense of the Games story is just dumb.
2.The fact that The story has lore implications…but uses Parallels and stand-ins that just…shouldn’t exist because its just tangles things further…is also dumb
3.The loose ends of the stories being told to us NOT in a direct, clear way but Using Stand-ins that Again…tangle the story further is dumb
Specially considering that Scott is retiring and leaving the franchise to a new heir…like just give us the story so the the franchise can have a clean slate so that we can look forward to the next entries without worrying about your mess.
Anyway in my (salty) opinion Scott should’ve just kept the book series its own thing. And if he had to Tie the Games to the books,he should’ve just given us the game story but in a novelization.
Sure its his franchise and he can do whatever he wants with it.but i think we can agree that Scott’s Trolling Has been going for a bit too long
I think Sea Bonnie’s could represent the whole thing about William being capable of infecting others, to make them one of him. Kind of like how Glitchtrap can infect the other robots, and make them evil like him. As for the ending to sea Bonnie’s, it’s maybe the idea that Even though we know Vanny looks evil, she looks like a normal human being to others when she isn’t wearing the suit.
As for Fazgoo, it could be a euphemism for how people can be replaced by robot copies. Like how in the OG book trilogy, Charlie is a robot replacement of Henry’s real daughter that died at the hands of William.
Bunny Call was probably meant to be a joke/swing at Matpat, but could also be an idea that William is inside Vanessa?
Regardless, Fazbear Frights was a cool book series, and Tales from the Pizzaplex is really cool as well. Despite some stories being questionable, there’s no doubt the stories are kind of creepy but cool. 🤔👌
Well, William isn’t the one infecting others or anything, he’s not glitchtrap. Mimic is glitchtrap, that’s what the video is about haha.
@@duckman9327
I agree, although not confirmed.
I think parallels are a thing that exist, but mainly in Frights. Jake has parralels to the Bite Victim with being a kid with a talking toy who dies because of something brain related. And in his case, the parallels seem to conect to theories about BV. Such as BV being connected to the vengeful spirit in some way, to the plush being controlled by BV's father, to BV being connected to happiest day.
But the thing is that those are simply giving evidence to things people already believed about the games. This hypothetical Henry-Edwin parallel would be introducing an entire new plot point via a parallel and such.
Let me mindfuck you real quick. Evan is William Afton before he establishes the Freddy’s franchise in the 1960’s or earlier. The toy Jake has reveals Evan’s abilities to create prototype animatronics capable of containing remnant.
but if there is parallels in the Frights, there can also be parallels in the tales
Although the Mimic was Burntrap theory is a HUGE lifesaver with the Afton ending, it still leaves out a few plot holes. It’s still contriving but idk. This is just the consequences of security breach. I don’t blame the game entirely or hate it but I wish it was a bit more straightforward and not as nearly incomprehensible.
10:09 that argument can be made with frights, why if Andrew is cassidy paraell is he completely diffrent why is he an alligator.
I found 3 faint ties: old Man Consequences (Though I prefer to call him a croc), the Andrew alligator mask, and the gold Glamrock Freddy plush dubbed 'Golden Freddy' is in Monty's room.
The Logbook suggests Cassidy having higher control than the Crying Child, much like Jake over Andrew. While this doesn't really work if it's Jake doing the walking, it made me think, 'if Crying Child can't see, Cassidy must be the top half', essentially what Shattered Monty is.
@@vincentmorris8431 thats post frights and even then that dosent make much sense seeing as the crying child has more agony and thus would have more power as opposed to cassidy who was probably just stabbed like every other kid.
Simple! He's not a Cassidy parallel, hope that helps.
@@dmuted let me guess your next video is about how sitchline games dosent destroy the timeline.
Jokes aside the point im making us paraells don't need to be 100% the same just similar enough, although the mimic could also just be lazy writing
@@dmuted Haven't you said how you believe that Cassidy is the vengeful spirit and such?

I really, really wish that the books weren't canon. It simply complicates things way too much. Its kind of similar to modern comics. Oh do you want to read this Batman story? Well you need to read this batman story and this green lantern and this wonder woman, but you have to make sure it's in this continuity which is similar to this one... It's a headache. Is it too much for the story of the games to be confined to the games?
Also, Phisnom said this in his stream yesterday and I really liked his thoughts. To paraphrase: the books are fanfiction, the games say something and the books build off of it for their own purposes. There's also that all-important Mr. Hippo quote "sometimes a story is just a story".
But alas, this is not the timeline we live in, and it makes me sad. It makes me feel I'm not able to enjoy the story of these games anymore because there is no story in the games, it's all in the stupid books.
it's honestly debatable if the books are actually canon. The trilogy obviously isn't and I'm hoping the same is for the fright books. Tales is more debatable since.. there are locations in there from SB. But it's really up in the air right now.
But I do heavily agree that I don't think lore thats supposed to be in the games, should be in a book series. Just is not a good look and is pretty dumb imo.
@@soomi5667 thing is Scott only said we could piece together the PAST missing pieces with the books. He said the games look to the future. I think he left clues in the books that could fill in past events in the games that have no explanation. However, he never said they we CANNON to the games.
People are really overlooking what he actually said and way over thinking the games at this point. Back when he made the originals, every detail mattered. Now that is not the case.
Look at the bite of 87, it was supposed to happen in FNAF 4 based on teasers and was retconned into the bite of 83. The bite of 87 was never mentioned again after FNAF 2. The bite of 83 wasn't mentioned after sister location. some characters weren't mentioned after FNAF 6. yet fans still cling to these aspects of the series despite the series moving on from them.
I 100% believe they changed their game because they did not want theorists (matpat) to guess what the game was about and be right leading to the glitchy and incomplete game we got
His theories ended up being mostly correct (the prediciton ones, not the ones after release). I personally find it straight up arrogant to assume scott just went and changed the story because he got it right. The reason he thinks this is because matt went off the deep end with his robokid nonsense (I know they are a thing that exists, ive read the silver eyes trilogy 3 times) and believes it to be the actual plot now.
@@thebreadbunny1863 well we know that Scott had changed stuff in his games before because of fan theorys I mean the box is the best example of that he has said that the contents of the box changed over time because of the evolution of the story and the community also he has said that " me and matpat have a sorta antagonistic relationship he inconvenienced me with his theories and I inconvenience with my games" so I don't think it's that hard to believe that he changed the game to make matpat look wrong also it just feels like we are missing huge parts of the game anyways I think matpat was very close on some things before the games release and Scott saw that and said oh yeah not anymore and changed parts of it
@@j.r.tomlin4265 I repeat: He was not wrong with his predictions. His theories stayed accurate, for the most part. The games story felt odd because the game was unfinished and they spent dev time poorly.
@@thebreadbunny1863 I 100 percent agree that the game was unfinished and missing something I just hope we get that something in the Ruin DLC
@@j.r.tomlin4265 yep. Though I disagree with the idea that the game was a total mess, a good chunk of the story was solveable. The funny thing is that theorists kept overcomplicating it (i am pointing to robot kids etc)
Honestly I straight up hate the books. Apart from a few good stories most of them are absolute trash and I've seen fanfiction and fan-made comics that are a million times better.
Edit: I'm talking about Fazbear Frights here. I don't know enough about Tales of the Pizzaplex to form an opinion.
The tales are pretty good imo. Frights is a mixed bag for me but they got good stories too.
to be honest this is very based
The books confuse, anger, and scare me on a personal level.
It’s a boy!
I wish the books stayed their own separate canon.
@dejinnthedjinn5311 Both series?
@@sebastianszyrwinski9325 yes.
@@dejinnthedjinn5311 but why TalesGames is problem for you?
@@sebastianszyrwinski9325 because I see it as a failure of a game's story telling if you need books in order to clarify, explain, or show important plot points. That's not to say that a story can't be cryptic, because FNAF has done cryptic storytelling well, but when you have to use epilogues to introduce and establish the main villain for your games, then it's a problem.
This is how i see it
Canon:tales from the pizzaplex
Non-canon but contain canon elements:silver eyes and fazbear frights
Honestly I'm not a fan of the books being supplemental material for things we didn't see in the games. I don't think people should have to buy a whole separate piece of media just for the story to make sense.
I have no interest in reading the books and only have what little knowledge I do from watching RUclips videos like this one, and I'm still confused. It just seems like a weird sales tactic.
I agree with every statement in this video
Can you make a video explaining the plot of the newest books for people who dont have access to the books?
I swear you people don't know what a good story is anymore
This is a nice video. I personally am a believer of the books not being canon but, I def am okay with being wrong. Even if I think it makes things WAY more complicated with the lore LOL. Really one of my big issues with it, even if I love these books.
MatPat and Funaff when the book trilogy and Fazbear Frights is out: Guys this is one to one canon to the games. Charliebot, Elizabethbot, Illusion disks!
MatPat and Funaff when Tales of the Pizzaplex arrives: *Nah* nah, those are not what happens in the games, but they are parallel and loosely connected. Edwin is supposed to be a parallel of Henry. (Even though they both don’t have many parallels and died two completely different ways and for different motives)
Me: -_-
People that believe that the book trilogy is canon, should use their brain more lol
Can’t believe Fazbear had a third genius robot inventor that also lost his family. Also that he had enough stake in the company to be part of the board of directors. And that this man was never ever seen before. Can you see why people do not want this Edwin to be a new character? His backstory would be far too big to the franchise while all of it being introduced in the books.
@@anthonynguyen1289maby he was part of the company because he had skills as an invetor so he would invest in an animatronic busines
I feel like security breach would've been a better game if it wasn't for steel wool doing sh*t behind Scotts back over and over again. All that stuff is what changed, delayed, and ruined the game.
Also from the start it seems that they changed the lore because fan theories predicted it, which always ends badly. Also please explain what steel wool did behind Scott Cawthon’s back
@@placeholderdoe adding and changing things that they weren't told to make, which is why the game got delayed, Scott let it all slide and that was a mistake that would haunt him in the future. I feel that if security breach dropped in 2020 like it was supposed to I feel we would've gotten a shorter yet more satisfying experience.
@@SirYelluzalThat doesn't really make sense tho? The game was just to big to make for a small team like SW. They didn't go behind Scott's back in any way.
@@placeholderdoethat's mostly just Map Pat stroking him ego in my opinion
@@superlemonslicer1224 if you look at Scotts message during Christmas of 2020 he stated that steel added too much content to the game and an excessive amount of extra content he was surprised and he decided to leave it in. So it got delayed. I feel the story got changed at some point with canceled voice lines and all.
Well… Maybe the future of FNAF can reboot Frights and Tales so that this toxic debate can finally end
So if Edwin can't be a parallel to Henry or William, you're suggesting that there just happened to be another genius animatronic creator associated with Fazbear entertainment that lost a child tragically but that he had so much stake in the company he was able to come back later. It stretches believability.
It's much more likely Help Wanted and Security Breach tell a straight forward horror/slasher story. A company trying to fix its image carelessly uses equipment that came from the killers body to steal basic data and cut down on programming costs; allowing the mental imprint of the killer to bring itself back. It doesn't undo the previous story arc, his actual soul is in hell, but his mind and body are revived and back to doing what he does best: killing kids, creating haunted animatronics, and ruining the Fazbear corporate name.
Maby he was on the board because he was an inventor so he had knolage about animatronics
Uh oh, It seems Scott is retroactively changing lore. Lets give him a controlled shock.
Well, scott just confirmed that the fazbear frights and tales of the pizzaplex Books are canon...the whole lore is a mess
Scott told us that the books are different universes and that they have nothing to do with the games. The books are based off of the games not the games off of the books like everyone thinks. Stop searching for lore in the books if you want lore play gthe games and make theories about the games instead of making theories about the books and saying it's part of the games. Scott has 100% confirmed that the books are non-canon it's even written on the books that they are different universes so anyone that thinks the books are canon is stupid only the things we see in the games are canon in the books. Now shut up about the Mimic. Phisnom has a great explanation of the books being non-canon at the end of his 10 hour fnaf lore explanation stream and like Phisnom said "Sometimes a story is just a story"
??? Scott has literally said before "Some books are canon, some are not." and "Use the novels to fill in the blanks"
I'm pretty sure when he said that the only books were the silver eyes books which are 100% not canon to the games
@@netLG Partly canon not completely canon
@@jjrobotnik Every book is not canon and it's written on the Fazbear Frights books
@@SnaxxHaxTV but for the tales of the pizza plex books they were listed as taking place in the world of the games and it was confirmed that they changed it for marketing and not because of it not being accurate
this is why I just gave up on the lore, I just don't care anymore, I'm SURE there has been more than 1 Retcon in this storyline
Making Burntrap a "Copycat" & not the real Afton STILL doesn't justify his existence. Wanna know why, because they already gave us a Copycat Killer: VANNY!!! Also, ooooh! OC LORE?

You could back up the books being in game with the fact that a giant chunk of the pizza plex is blocked off by lv 10 access cards or walls in middles of rooms. For example the wall that seems to block off the parking garage. You can see the parking spots go under the walls. For some tales being in the pizza plex but not in areas we know in game this is probably the reason why or the massive renovations.
hi
Star Wars Legends
That's two RUclipsrs I know with alternate monsters and Eldritch horrors hiding in their backgrounds! Nice to meet you Loudmouth.
By saying Edwin isn't a parallel to Henry because they're named differently, you're completely ignoring the FNAF 3 and Sister Location parallel stories.
The protagonists are a clear parallel to the games' protagonists, the events ara parallel to the games, but I don't see them sharing names with Michael.
Also, events don't equal elements. Book stories can include elements that are parallels to the games, while the events can or can not be the same. And vice versa.
Or, more likely, those "parallels" never actually existed in the first place, but our pattern recognizing brains HAD to see them as parallels because why would there ever be NEW characters?
@@dmuted I love you for saying this! i absolutely hate that no one can accept new characters as an option anymore.
@@dmuted There are parallels that exist, stories like What we Found for example do not really fit into the game canon but still reflect things like FNAF 3. I personally think Cassidy is the vengeful spirit but another character holds that role in Frights.
. But I do not think parralels exist in Tales from the pizzaplex. As you say in the video, the Tales books are much more connected without any of the contradictory details and such.
Loudmouth is so cool, I'm really excited to see what the voidlings are up to!
Matpat maybe being the reason for security breaches changes is funny as hell
This didn’t show up in my notifications, can’t believe I missed it
So you're saying Edwin and the mimic exist in the game timeline but it's a third inventor genius single father? I see what you're saying but I don't like it which I think may be exactly why people haven't taken this position in popular fandom discourse
In a series surrounding robots and dead kids, yes, a third inventor genius father makes leaps more sense than two dead guys suddenly coming back with a brand new robot
i still have a lil heart attack every time i hear "book" in fnaf discussions lmao

i dont believe some of the stories are fully apart of the gameverse yet because of the "3 different short stories with unique characters, some connected directly to the games and some not." quote Scott made to the fazbear frights storys and i would say that tales from the pizzaplex is a successor to it and should somewhat hold op to the same standers if not stated otherwise.
I don't care about the FNAF lore, your fursona is cute :3
I can definitely answer the question on whether or not Tales From The Pizzaplex is in the same continuity, and it’s not in the same continuity as the FNaF games. In “The Mimic”, we see David and the Mimic drawing on multiple colored papers in an empty room which is a clear connection to the sticky note room in SB. The interesting thing about that room is that the doorway is called “CharlieDoor”, which confirms the theory that Edwin and David are just parallel to Henry and Charlie.
Edit: I’m bad at typing.
Oh neat
That dosent work because that implies both people drawing on the sticky notes would be charlie
