I feel like I am one of the only people who really likes this. I really like the lyrics and their message, the song is deep and is mostly about human nature (an interesting topic for an ESC song), it is catchy, I really love the 80s vibe which makes it captivating and unique for Eurovision this year, the production is incredible even if it is restrained, I love that it is so ethnic and Aboriginal (something we have never done before), I love the digeridoo in the lush and beautiful intro, even though it doesn’t have as much punch as 2000 and Whatever it is still really beautiful and restrained but kinda punchy without it trying to be, the melody is amazing, the video is weird but I get why it is being done for budget saving for staging, I love the vocal of the lead singer (it is actually very androgynous as I thought it was a female vocal, not a male vocal) and yeah it is really good. It does lack punch but so do love its soulful vibe and it isn’t my fave entry from us but I am really satisfied with what we have this year. This will be incredible live and will probably grow on the fandom over time with an incredible performance that they will do as SBS knows how to stage and they will serve for sure and the song has a captivating vibe to it that could be staged really well. So excited for this song and it could qualify but barely. It won’t win but it’ll do mid-table in the final because it stands out ot the televoter due to it being restrained which is a vibe this year doesn’t have much of which will make it stand out to a televoter. This is an 8/10 for me and it could easily have a Gustaph effect and do super well in the end.
Thank you for the love for our entry. We have an amazing industry and I just love how we show it every single year we compete with all the variety it has. I love that we can show this every year even it is hard in terms of money for us to keep competing. I really hope we can figure out a longer-term financial solution (maybe the government could fund SBS more or something like that so the artist doesn’t have to do much of the work themselves) so more artists, big or small can compete for us and show more of our culture which is rich and unique. I really hope we keep competing so we can show more of the fantastic talent we have in this country in terms of music.

Too short is not a issue. As far as I know the song must be no longer than 3 minutes.

What a great review. Just can’t understand all the negativity this song is attracting. I think it’s miles ahead of the vast majority of other entries so far.

Thanks for the kind words. Completely agree that this is the best entry so far this year. We can’t stop listening and Electric Fields has gained some fervent new fans! The negativity is unfortunate but can’t please everyone, even with a song that speaks for unity so powerfully
