I know everyone's mad for Fear & Hunger these days, but this reminds me of nothing so much as Hylics. If you like this game's style, you should check it out.
i think a lot of folks nowadays see an rpgmaker game w eldritch horrors & immediately compare it to funger. not a bad thing, they are certainly very different games but if that comparison gets people to play this game then it’s cool w me lol. i loved this game’s style & humor so i will for sure give hylics a look!
It has the humor and similar art style of Hylics but has the general tone of funger as well as having general story beats of funger.
And it helps that this game is basically an alternate earth, like funger.

14:26 it’s funny when looking up the origins of the word villein, which were land bound peasants, and used derogatorily for lacking “Noble” qualities. Now when mid evil slang use attack by Villeins, I now chuckle imagining peasants attempting to liberate the means of production when said.
In the modern day, taco bell uses the same enchantments on their Beefy Five-Layer Burrito.
The sound sample for the blessing skill is from ragnarok online, one of the priest skills, it just unlocked core memories in me lmao.
I love the art style of this game, the style feels 3d but is pixilated which creates such a cool effect. the fights also feel so cool since it’s first person and you can see what your action in battle. I would also less say that this is fear and hungry and more Monty python the game.
Really love how this was edited and this has sold me on the game more than anything else I've seen so far.
It is pretty crazy, another hit per usual 😎👌
This game looks very cool, just the right mix of funny rpg. I'm 20 mins in but I'm gonna have to play and finish the game myself before I continue 😂

Battles really look like Hylics to me. Both have a first person view with detailed attack animations.

99% of "RPGs" also aren't actually roleplaying games either tbf. It's just a commonly accepted misnomer.
"J-" is more of a brand than a specification of origin. It's like how "Euro-" sometimes applies to music that isn't made by Europeans.
