So thankful for videos! Thank you for your last update as well. You have been in my prayers! What a difficult several months you have had. Your channel is such a blessing! Homeschooling can feel isolating at times and your channel is so encouraging! I wish we could be friends. 😂 I’ve implemented so many of the organizational systems I’ve found through you! With 6 kids, I’ll be using them for a long time so I’m always look forward to your posts.

So glad I found your channel! My daughter will begin homeschooling this year in 3rd grade along with my son who will be starting with Kindergarten. I keep debating on buying the ABEKA accredited grade curriculum with all the things just so I’m being kept on track as it is my first year, however it is SO expensive and I wanted to make sure it is worth it. Your videos help!
How do you bind your textbook sheets? Is it expensive to buy on your own? I did read how some of ABEKAs pages fall out quickly.

You’d be surprised how fast they catch on to cursive. I started my girls on Abeka since k4 and I’ll be honest, it was terrible at first but I didn’t expect anything close to perfection. I would sort of sit down with them and point out letters and eventually words that they wrote well. I would just focus on the positive with cursive and if they would get frustrated which they never really did, I would give them a writing board and let them practice if they so wished. I practiced with them, pretending I needed to practice my cursive too. They’re in second and third now and they write much better than me and my cursive is often completed. Now I do circle they’re mistakes but I’ve explained I any point it out so they’re rhythm of writing doesn’t get thrown off. Cursive is a connected form of art. It’s beautiful. Glad your son embarking on this form of writing. Abeka honestly is my favorite for that. I have yet to find a curriculum that teaches cursive so beautifully.

That is exactly how I was with my daughter. She didn’t start cursive until first. We focused more on the positives then the negatives and that helped with less frustration (I think.) She’s now in sixth and I’m so happy she’s knows cursive. That’s what I’ll do with my soon as well. I think I’m more worried about him being too hard on himself. He is his biggest critic. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I completely agree that cursive is an art and I’m happy he is excited to learn it.
