Such a wonderful reaction to a living rock legend and performance. I saw Eric Clapton in 1968 with Cream and he has provided a lifetime of music that is a treasure to me. Thank you again for a delightful reaction.

I love your channel! I'm 56, I grew up listening to Eric Clapton & as far back as I can remember, he has been a master guitarist. I agree, how does he do it? I've attempted to play & it is extremely hard. I don't get it. You either have it in you or you don't. ha That's all I can come up with! 🤷🏼‍♀️I do enjoy you two, sending love, inner light & positivity to you both! ❤️✨️👍🏼🎸Music connects us all, all the way from TN.

Love how Eric's singing and guitar play back and forth to each other, then he just goes off. If that is old love lay more on me.

I've been fortunate to see Eric 3 times; all of which were very diff from each other.
The first was a benefit in '83 for Ronnie Lane's muscular distrophy benefit. The line up was Eric, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, The Rolling Stones (minus Jagger & Richards) and Joe Cocker. It didn't suck at all.
I saw Eric do this number the second time. It was a very foggy Sunday night in Sept 1990 at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Stevie Ray Vaughn died in a helicopter crash that night, leaving the show. Hella thing

Eric was on fire that night. I was there, as I was also present for the I Shot The Sheriff performance you reacted to previously. This particular night was a benefit for the Crossroads rehab centre in Antigua that Eric has been funding since 1998, and he had guests like Sheryl Crow, David Sanborn (sax), Mary J. Blige, and Bob Dylan, all of whom he played behind during their mini sets. The greatest version of Wonderful Tonight that I've ever seen or heard was performed this evening, as well as a magnificent Layla, and a version of Little Wing (written by Jimi Hendrix) that provides another great improv moment featuring Sanborn, that spread joy through the band. I'm glad you started your Clapton journey with songs that feature his amazing talent for moving you with his guitar prowess, as opposed to his acoustic ventures that are also a part of his legacy now, but not what built his reputation and rabid fan base. Go back near his beginnings and take a taste of his Cream days with Crossroads ruclips.net/video/7HfkSzsyh1E/видео.html. Eric sings lead on this live track, but the bassist Jack Bruce was actually the lead singer in all of the other band's songs. Fast forward to the mid 90's for Eric's return to straight blues, Groaning The Blues ruclips.net/video/vKFN78ksSa8/видео.html. There is a treasure trove of Clapton live video to choose from, but well worth the journey.

Love your reaction, as always! Clapton plays very much what's in his heart at that moment and a lot of it is improvised or at least evolved from however he played it the night before. So what you feel listening to his playing is the same things he's feeling. At the height of his power, he was like an open conduit through which the pain and the joy and the anger and the passion all flow directly from his heart to yours. Keyboard solo by Tim Carmon. With David Sanborn on saxophone, Nathan East on bass, Andy Fairweather-Low on guitar, Steve Gadd on drums, Dave Delhomme on the other keyboard (okay I had to look up that one), Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles on background vocals. Best always!

Eric is a survivor! He lived everything, lost so much! That's why he touches our hearts, souls, immediatly😢A legendary guitarist, probably, in the top 3 of the best blues guitarists, legends, and one of the best friend of my master, the greatest guitarist ever, Jimi Hendrix! I love that guy, and i, already, have my ticket to go to see him play live, in Paris, in May 2024( i hate that town, but i'm french and he only plays 3 concerts in France, Paris is the closer town for me)😂😋✌️As always, i liked your reaction.... I would like to see Andreyi cry, so watch Eric Clapton when he plays " River of tears" live, or watch when he plays with lucciano Pavarotti, "Holy mother"😂So much other great songs, and performances of that guy....Peace from France✌️.....

That's probably the most favourite song for me from his solo career. And I know all of his studio recordings and lots of his live performances - but not this live performance - it is fantastic! No one can make the guitar cry or put so much anger, disillusion and sadness in it as EC. He is amazing and in private life a controversial, not so easy person to be with for sure, who has gone through many bad things in life. You can hear it in the way he plays the guitar. He is unique.

    • @jeffreyfenko1797

This was not my favorite live version of Old Love, but Eric's solo is mesmerizing, for sure. I like the traditional arrangement with two solos and the piano bridge between. There are three versions culled from the 24 Nights sets. One from the original release on DVD and CD, then two more from the new boxed set, one of which is the orchestral version. There's also a bootleg of his Knebworth performance, with horrible video, but crystal clear audio, which is my favorite version of all time. In fact, anything from that Knebworth performance showcases Eric at his peak. Skill, confidence, and energy combined for a transcendent set that included Dire Straits and Elton John.

One of the Beatles (I think it was George Harrison) was asked what he thought about the graffiti in London saying "Clapton is God". He answered: Well, Clapton may not be God, but if God played guitar... that's probably what he sounds like.
