I remember watching it on TV when I was 13. At the time, Armstrong's calm demeanor made it seem like landing was no problem. I only found out years later he had to reject the initial choice for landing because of boulders. His ability to make such a decision and to control such an awkward vehicle was phenomenal. ❤
The video recorded with a camera through a window of the lander looks way more impressive. You get a feeling how tight it was and so on. But this here was a bit misleading, it doesn't show how they continued forward quite a while because of the boulders on the ground. And then he did the touchdown with just a few seconds of fuel left... I think, that recording I mentioned was done with a film camera. It was not live in TV, only the audio was live on air... And the audio was different to this short video (I have seen a replay a few times...). The "walk" down the ladder was live on TV from a TV camera mounted on a pole and moved out to capture the scene - some sort of a very early big selfie stick ;-)

Fabulous cgi of the event. Got all the angles and descenting particulars correct. I remember seeing this happen in real time. Not from this pov, but via the lunar module window in fuzzy black and white. But it was one huge exhilarating experience. One very big moment in human exploration. 👍🏼
I remember that night like it was yesterday. My friend's wife gave birth to their Son after I left to go home after watching it all on TV. Quite a night.
How do you explain the camera shots? Did another rocket accompany Apollo 11 with a film crew who took all those shots from variety of angles ? And there was also a cameraman already on the moons surface who filmed the shot of Armstrong coming out of the rocket and therefore being the SECOND "man to take a small step for man but a giant leap for mankind "? How come there are shadows of the rocket and men when the sun doesn't shine there?
@@PurePeacePower Well let me see here....... There was the main ship that was in orbit around the moon with one astronaut in it, while the two in the lunar lander, " tranquility base" landed on the moon with two astronauts in it. When they left the moon, they blasted off and re-connected with the main ship and all three returned to earth. I didn't see anyone taking pics of Armstrong stepping on the moon......? The sun does shine there. They didn't land on the back side of the moon where the sun doesn't shine. Does that help ?

If man walked on the moon in 1969 then man would be walking on Mars by now. Remember we simply can’t get through the Van Allen belts, way too much radiation, it would kill any human being. We will get to the moon someday it’s just not happening anytime soon, we still need to protect the astronauts from the Van Allen Belts and figure out a way for them to get back from the moon, that will really be an exciting time for mankind, hope I’m alive to see it.

Perhaps you watched a different landing in school. This is Apollo 11. The very 1st lunar landing. It occured on July 24, 1969. I warched it from ny grandparents home late one night during Summer vacation. A massively important year in my life.

I was 16 years old and on vacation in Montana when this happened. I remember sitting at a picnic table listening to the radio in amazement that we were landing on the moon.
Even though this video is animation, I still get goosebumps watching Neil and Buzz. This was and is a monumental moment in mankind. I was eight years old watching it the first time.
It is our greatest achievement. I was a boy who watched it all. There were men who would explain how it would land and all the other examples about the moon landing using plastic models and and drawings to explain the capsule doing it's maneuvers. I was changed forever.
A lot better than the crude animation they used in 1969. We didn't see any real footage from the moon until just before Armstrong came down the ladder. It was almost 11PM and I was 8 years old.

Crazy to think it was all done by human hands back then. Compared to now when everything is already calculated and automated
You believe this? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kitna smooth landing Kiya hamara chandryan3 bhi karega 😊😊
I hope it does
its animation man. aap samajh lo ye Chandrayan he hai
Kese mand budhi log comment krne aa jate hai..yeh animation hai
Are you 10 ?

Kudos to the cameraman for filming the Space Capsule
Kameraman için başka bir roket fırlatılmış olmalı bruhh
That’s not the capsule. That stayed in orbit. This is the lander
From CCCP's Luna 15?
What cameraman and what was he filming from
Did they carry extra fuel to get home and what kind of fuel do they use
It’s nice to see a animated version it brings it into perspective of what you would see unbelievable and we haven’t been anywhere since
Camera man never dies!
🧠🤏🥱
😂😂 i love camera man
😂😂😂
Fabulous cgi of the event. Got all the angles and descenting particulars correct. I remember seeing this happen in real time. Not from this pov, but via the lunar module window in fuzzy black and white. But it was one huge exhilarating experience. One very big moment in human exploration. 👍🏼
I was 6 yrs old at that time. Astronauts were kings back then! 🌜
We replaced them with greedy athletes and cheap action movie heroes… sad!
Animation displays landing site craters/terrain accurately. 👍👍

@@PurePeacePoweryou don’t need a film crew, literally just attach a camera to anything
@@yarissathomas1816 they attached one camera to the legs of the lunar module. How do you explain all the shots from all the other various angles?
Excellent work, Eagle!!❤

How is related Kubrick to this???

That’s a beautiful scene that we can watch effortlessly 54 years later. We’re in the future.
All I know is the radio works well 😄
As I remember it, they brought the TV into our classroom and we watched it in school. I was in third grade.
Mankind’s greatest achievement so far. Thank you JFK and the thousands of people who worked for NASA back then.
lol😂
Right👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lol please!
You are absolutely right going into Outer space has so far been mankind‘s greatest achievement
And the Oscar goes to.... the cameraman, yeah man, you did it. Wooohooo!
Actually the whole Hollywood crew who duped us deserve an a-ward!
Happy 54th anniversary!
54 years later and we are having great difficulty going there. I smell B.S don't be so gullible.

Landed in Area 51.not moon itself.😅😅😅😅
I remember this,we watched this at school, 2 classes came together. Everyone shared their desk, black & white tv small one. It was so exciting, nobody talked until it landed, cheers from whole school, The Eagle has landed!!
Perhaps you watched a different landing in school. This is Apollo 11. The very 1st lunar landing. It occured on July 24, 1969. I warched it from ny grandparents home late one night during Summer vacation. A massively important year in my life.
@@michaelbee2165Uh it was July 20th not 24th.
You didn’t watch this particular footage, this is a modern recreation.
It's amazing how Pride and Suggestion can have people of a point in time to not question how this was being filmed
Cameraman never disappoint us , thanks to those cameraman
It's an animation.
Michael Collins not only piloted the command module Columbia, but was a great cameraman himself
But how did he hover, when he was circling the moon at great speed.
What Michael Collins said ... in this ,
He should clarify this...

It’s slightly better than thunderbirds but I still prefer the latter. You can see the strings more clearly but the storylines are great.
Ah, did someone not really comprehend the harder maths in school?
Now our chandrayan 3 is also on the moon 🌙🌝🎊
Is it computer animation or any other module was taken the footage of chandrayan 3
It is our greatest achievement. I was a boy who watched it all. There were men who would explain how it would land and all the other examples about the moon landing using plastic models and and drawings to explain the capsule doing it's maneuvers. I was changed forever.
Do you still believe it was for real?
Congratulations India for Chandrayan 3 South pole Moon landing.🎉🎉

A lot better than the crude animation they used in 1969. We didn't see any real footage from the moon until just before Armstrong came down the ladder. It was almost 11PM and I was 8 years old.
All faked.
