Hi Michele, I'm very glad you took us to a new authentic place with very unique dishes for me and you're always lucky to be in a good friendship and I'm not surprised because you're a person with a great personality. I really enjoyed the whole show. Thank you for a great entertainment. Be safe my friend.🙏 🙏 🙏
Thank you for putting my little country El Salvador (we're from Santa Ana) on a positive light! My family and I are planning on a family trip next year (or over those pandemic is over)😎😎😎
an interesting fact, the oldest known Yuca cultivation site on earth is in El Salvador . a Mayan village that was buried by a volcano , a small part was excavated and called Joya de Ceren from there Yuca spread to Asia and Africa mainly where the Spanish and Portugués controlled like Filipinas and Portugues africa
@@lilybear1977 Cassava is different from the Yuca. Cassava belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family, while yucca belongs to the Asparagaceae. The plants belong to different plant families.
As a Salvadorean, I thank you Michael for showing my Pulgarcito ( how we call it) i sooooo want to be there now, and seeing your videos gave a sense of happiness in this good Friday. 🙏
Is very hard try to explain what you are eating if you don't speking inglish, like this guys , frijoles are beans , but it is very nice that this chicos are helping this freind. Welcome to El Salvador .
Please try “La Sopa de Gallina India” with the Gallina Asada, that my favorite dish fron El Salvador, I know Italian don’t eat Sopa when it’s hot, but we have many Sopas, -Sopa de frijoles fresco con carne de cerdo -sopa de mondongo(trippa) -Sopa de Res(bovino) etc etc
@@MichelePonte mondongo is a very regional word I had never heard that word you can just say sopa de pata or de tripa or de panza so no matter where you can be understood
I am immensely proud of you, Michele Ponte, as you are flourishing as a maven RUclips content creator. You are whipping Marwa's ass in terms of views. The foods looks delectable and intriguing! Love the splendid opulent vintage architecture; besutiful church.
nice video, yuca is a root plant and you can eat it fry or boiled with pork, cabbage and tomatoes sauce. I hear you said yuka is better than pupusa, you are the first one saying that !!
I’m surprised, that was a positive review of local food. Your heart has been softened hahaha. Just kidding 🤣 keep it real! I like your videos, you’re funny!
Hi. Saludos desde Toronto. Mike, great videos. Im Salvadoran and really like tourist to enjoy what this small country can offer. Cheers and I hope you can come one.
Well technically my parents (family) is from Santa Ana. I was born over there but I was raised in California. So those were that only time I’ve gone and I fell in love 💕💝🇸🇻. My friend is trying to get me to go next month but bills first. Haha anyway. Enjoy!!!🥰💝
Next time get some chicken homemade tamales. But now I can definitely eat two empanadas. Salvadorian empanadas are totally different to others empanadas you have ever had. We make them from maduros or platano macho. smashed fried plantains filled with Maizena cream. Some people cover the empanadas with sugar. OMG so delicious. Add a salvadoreño Hot chocolate
You tried cheaper pupusas that's the problem, if you try different pupusas in other special place they are good and much better than the cheap pupusas on the street or Market.
I didn’t film it, but I was in the best restaurants in Santa Ana, always with locals, I ate pupusas every other day, but I guess they are simply not for me.
@@MichelePonte pupusas are the working mans food made with humble ingredients any family would have available cheese, corn and beans and pork them being cheap is not really an issue as much as who made them
The tostadas are not from El Salvador. Yuca is a root. It is served with tomatoes, watercress, and cucumber. To make the plate look beautiful it is served with half of the yuca boiled and half of the yuca fried along with the vegetables, and tomato salsa (it is mildly spicy) or curtido (cabbage, onion and carrots plus spices pickled) plus pig (fried) (fritada). The sweet dish you ate nueganos are made of yuca, egg, or flour along with them is served the dulce de panela (brown color) plus is served with chilate (the drink which is made from toasted corn (maiz). It is served between lunch and dinner. Empanadas fillings are beans or milk curd. The empanada dough is made from plantains.
Hi is my first time waching your videos . Where are you from? Well in that visit you ate yuca root( potatoe family ) with fritada ( pork meat) ,empanadas plamtain dougth turnover ,one with beans and the other one with milk pudding Then corn dough turnover with vegetables and beef meat. Chilate is a kind of corn drink with ginger amd you mix it with the sweets
Creo que cada area le llama a la comida con diferentes nombres. Que yo sepa en San Salvador le decíamos a los pastelitos solo pastelitos no pastelitos de picada.
Itsss a lieeee, the enchiladas doesn't have mayonesa, the enchiladas have beans, cheese, radish, tomato sauce, eggs and avocado, and if you want you can put spicy sauce

FYI - the English word for yuca is cassava. It’s common in Caribbean and African dishes. Yet to try it in other cuisines.
